Manila FAME 2012 to showcase global trends The 2012 Manila FAME, slated on 14-17 March 2012 at the SMX Convention Center, is set to showcase this season’s global trends in styling, featuring the Paradiso, Tribal Fusion, and Stone Age designs. “Featuring the latest trends at Manila FAME is an affirmation that we are definitely the trendsetting design hub in Asia. We witnessed the outstanding result of the Trend Stores last October so we will continue this in March,” Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) Executive Director Rosvi Gaetos said. The brilliant colors on the shores of Mediterranean inspired the Paradiso, exhibiting painting palettes of bougainvillea, sunflowers, and striped espadrilles on rattan and painted metal bistro sets, tableware, and illustrations.

On the other hand, the Tribal Fusion will honor nature and history. The designs are motivated by the beauty of the environment illustrated in uniquely handcrafted collections of weaving, recycling, and reinventing clothing, jewelry, furniture, and lighting. The design also depicts animal life and the global momentum of innovative fashion and home decorations.

The Stone Age will highlight the color gray as the new black blanketing home furnishings, giftwares and fashion, while the sophisticated palettes of peridot, amethyst, and aquamarine provide character and exceptionality for each design. For many years, Manila FAME has been serving as an instrument in the development of the Philippine home and fashion lifestyle industries since its first exhibit in 1983. It is the only event in the country approved by the Union des Foires Internationales (UFI), a Paris-based association of trade fair organizers. The 55th edition this March also features three other major sourcing events in the country -- manila now, CEBUNEXT, and Bijoux Cebu -- and will introduce new export-ready companies.
