The DTI-DOE Bagwis Program for LPG Dealers awards deserving dealers with the Silver Bagwis Seal of Excellence for having met the criteria on compliance with fair trade laws, customer relations, store management operations, and socially committed and responsible business sector. For its pilot implementation, the program scope was limited to LPG dealers within the National Capital Region (NCR). With the aim to promote and foster the highest level of business ethics and uphold fair and honest marketplace through voluntary self-regulation and service excellence, both departments are optimistic that the Bagwis Program for LPG Dealers will contribute to the refinement of the business sector and state of consumer protection in the country. DOE Secretary Jose Rene D. Almendras emphasized the need to follow the prescription for proper LPG dealership. “It is an accountability that we have to the consumers…the four of you have proven that you can do it the right way,” he said.
Gracing the awarding, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory L. Domingo (left) and Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jose Rene D. Almendras (right) both delivered their messages regarding the importance of complying with the DTIDOE prescribed rules for LPG dealers.
DTI Secretary Gregory L. Domingo said the DTI and DOE would continue to work hand-in-hand to publicize the event to encourage other LPG dealers to aim for the seal of excellence. Domingo added that both Departments would promote good housekeeping among LPG dealers in order for them “to aspire for the Gold Award.” The DTI-DOE Bagwis Program for LPG Dealers has two levels of award, the Gold and Silver. The Gold category requires aspirants to meet the qualifications for the Silver Award plus the integration of some elements aligned to ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) in their store operations. #
