Terrado recognized globally as a Filipina of Distinction The Filipina Women’s Network (FWN) has selected Department of Trade and Industry-Management Services Group (DTI-MSG) Undersecretary Nora K. Terrado as one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World (Global FWN100)™. Undersecretary Terrado was honored specifically in the Builders category, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional business impact at a large workplace environment; displaying deep passion for a cause through collaborative initiatives at a nonprofit institution; high potential and skill with measurable results at a government agency, or organization in any field. “Buildership” is about building better organizations, leading broken organizations to adjust, repair, and re-align. Awards are given annually in eight categories that embody the spirit of an influential Filipina woman. Aside from the Builders category, the other seven categories are: Behind the Scenes Leaders, Emerging Leaders (Below Age 35), Founders & Pioneers, Innovators & Thought Leaders, “Nicole”, Policymakers & Visionaries, and Keepers of the Flame.

With just a little over a year in public service, Terrado was also a nominee to the Founders & Pioneers and Policymakers & Visionaries categories. Along with her, another DTI official, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Lilia B. De Lima was also nominated to the Builders category. Meantime, another member of the DTI family, Maria Roseni "Nini" Mendoza Alvero, Commercial Counselor for Washington, D.C., USA, was also nominated to two categories, namely: Innovators & Thought Leaders and Keepers of the Flame. The 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award™ recognizes Filipina women who are influencing the face of leadership in the global workplace, having reached status for outstanding work in their respective fields and are recognized for their leadership, achievement and contributions to society, femtorship, and legacy. “The Global FWN100™ women are dynamic entrepreneurs, rising stars under age 35, practitioners, community leaders and executives who have moved through the ranks in large organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies. They are powerful examples of women doing extraordinary work who will motivate our youth and future leaders,” said Global FWN100™ Worldwide Search and Selection Committee Chair Thelma Boac. “They were selected based on the size and scope of their positions, influence in their industries and their communities, board affiliations, and other leadership roles. Nominations were received from 16 countries,” Boac added. “The Global FWN100™ Awards is the heart of FWN's Filipina Global Power 2020 Vision: build the Filipina community's pipeline of qualified leaders to increase the odds that some will rise to the "president" position in all sectors of the global economy," said FWN’s Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Marily Mondejar. "A number of Filipina women have migrated all over the world to seek some form of leadership and economic empowerment - their collective stories of how they disrupted their professional and personal lives will be the largest recorded diaspora in modern times,"added Mondejar. The awardees are asked to femtor a young Filipina through the FEMtorship program and attend the Filipina Leadership Summit on 5-8 October 2014 at the Makati ShangriLa Hotel. “The Global FWN100™ Awardees will be featured in a special issue of the FWN Magazine, and seeing them all on stage during the gala awards ceremony at the 11th Annual Filipina Leadership Global Summit assures me that the future of our young Pinay sisters is solid,” said Ramar Foods President and FWN President Susie Quesada. #
