Third batch of DTI offices vying for ISO certification attend QMS Awareness and Documentation Courses As part of the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) 2014 International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Alignment Project, the third batch of offices targeted for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) certification attended the first of a series of QMS Awareness Course on 24 February 2014 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC). Certification International Philippines, Inc. (CIPI) Associate Management System Auditor and Trainer Cynthia R. Ramirez conducted the seminar. Some DTI heads and personnel also underwent sessions for the QMS Awareness and QMS Documentation Courses between February and March 2014. Aside from Ramirez, the other speaker for the QMS Awareness Seminar was Bureau of Product Standards (BPS) Standards Development Division Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Emmaline C. Vitug while CIPI Associate Auditor Claire Oracion handled the Documentation Seminar. The Human Resource Development and Personnel Service (HRDPS) has also scheduled sessions for the same courses this month. The courses aim to provide participants with an overview of the purpose and basic requirements of QMS based on ISO 9001:2008 as a tool for business improvement and customer satisfaction. These courses will also prepare the participants on how to establish, implement, maintain, and improve their office’s QMS.
ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) Awareness Seminar Speaker Cynthia Ramirez (1st row, center) and the participants from the third batch of DTI offices targeted for ISO certification this year flash a smile for the camera.
