DTI employees attend Financial Planning Seminar Some Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) employees attended the Conversations on Financial Planning by Sun Life Financial Philippines held on February 5, 2014 at the 3/F Conference Room, DTI Main Building in Makati City. Organized by the Human Resource Development and Personnel Service (HRDPS) for the DTI retirees and interested parties, the seminar was held in two batches, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Sun Life Financial Philippines Unit Manager Jimmy Atienza discussed the difference between saving money in the bank and investing it in an investment company, with emphasis given on the latter. Atienza also introduced various investment plans for people who want to be insured. He urged the participants to invest wisely by making their money work for them. He underscored the value of self-discipline and sacrifices for a financially rewarding future and urged the employees to develop the habit of saving first before spending.
