No. 17 ▪ 16 April 2014
GIP has been implemented to initiate the youth to public service thus serving as a recruitment mechanism for potential public employees and providing financial assistance to the trainees. E.O. No. 139 issued on 28 November 1993 also encouraged students and the youth to engage in constructive and productive activities through Kabataan 2000: The President’s Youth Work Program (PYWP). Aside from the financial assistance, GIP also provides participants training for their professional and personal development, which the Department wishes to impart to its trainees. Trainees shall receive a certificate of completion provided they complete at least one and a half months of training service. GIP participants will render their internship in various offices in DTI Main and its attached agency, the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP). The program will run for two months, with a Graduation Ceremony on 31 May 2014.
