What’s up @ An internal information service for DTI employees

DTI welcomes new officials The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) welcomed its new officials who will supervise and assist in the formulation and implementation of laws, policies, plans, programs, and projects on trade and industry. DTI Secretary Gregory L. Domingo led the oath-taking of the following newly appointed officials in separate occasions:    

Undersecretary for Trade and Investment Promotions Group (TIPG) Ponciano C. Manalo Jr. Undersecretary for Management Services Group (MSG) Nora K. Terrado Assistant Secretary for Industry Development and Trade Policy Group (IDTPG) Ceferino S. Rodolfo, and Assistant Secretary for Regional Operations and Development Group (RODG) Blesila A. Lantayona.

Manalo replaced former Undersecretary Cristino L. Panlilio who resigned from government service effective January 15, 2013. He held global executive level positions for Colgate-Palmolive Company in various countries including Europe, the United States (U.S.), and the Philippines. He was Marketing Operations Vice President in Europe before his last stint as the Hill’s Pet Nutrition (USA) Corporate Global Director. Prior to Colgate-Palmolive, he started his marketing career at Procter & Gamble Philippines. He is a graduate of Management Engineering at the Ateneo de Manila University. Meanwhile, Rodolfo has been serving DTI as Policy Adviser from January 2000 to present. He had also served as a consultant in various private and government organizations such as the Agriconsulting, Sp.A., ITS Global Consulting, National Competitiveness Council (NCC), Department of Health-Bureau of International Health Cooperation (DOH-BIHC), DTI-International Trade Group (ITG), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), to name a few. On the other hand, Lantayona has served the agency as DTI-Davao del Sur Provincial Director; DTI-11 Assistant Regional Director; and DTI-3 Regional Director prior to her latest appointment. She worked at Small Business Assistance Center as Project Development Analyst and Industry Development Analyst and Specialist. She also worked at the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region 11 as Economic Development Researcher; Spie Enertrans, France (subsidiary of Spie Batignolles) as Project consultant; and as an Associate Professor at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP). She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business from the European School of Management (ESCP – EAP) in Paris, France. Meanwhile, Terrado replaced Undersecretary Zenaida Cuison-Maglaya, who was transferred to RODG vice Usec. Merly Cruz, who had retired from government service last June. Prior to her government service appointment, Terrado served as the President of the Headstrong Philippines, a global financial consultancy and information and technology (IT) services firm. She was also the Vice President of GENPACT Headstrong Capital Markets and IT Philippines, and Site Leader of GENPACT Manila Global Delivery Center. Also, she was a former President of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA). A certified public accountant, Terrado also served as Financial Controller, Manager of the Regional Shared Services Center for Southeast Asia Operations of Harper Group/Circle International, and Vice President for Finance and Administration of Circle Freight and Affiliated Companies. She also worked as External Auditor at SGV&Co (now Ernst and Young). She earned her B.S. Commerce degree as a state scholar at the University of St. La Salle Bacolod City, and studied Strategic Business Economics at the UA&P. #
