DTI-DN intensifies consumer welfare and protection advocacy In a bid to intensify its consumer welfare and protection advocacy, the Department of Trade and Industry-Davao del Norte (DTI-DN) Provincial Office turned over some 450 Consumer Rights and Responsibilities Advocacy Posters to the Department of Education (DepEd), through Davao Del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario, during the recently concluded Kadagayaan Festival. DTI-DN Provincial Director Edwin O. Banquerigo said the project, which is a component of his office’s “Ramdam Ka Ba Ni Juan Project,” aims to increase the schoolchildren’s consumer awareness at the grade level and educate them to become responsible and empowered consumers.

“We want to have the Consumer Rights and Responsibilities Advocacy Posters in every classroom in the province of Davao del Norte because we believe that the students, especially those who are still in elementary, are one of the best vehicles for consumer advocacy,” said Banquerigo. “Teaching them while they are still young is most effective in molding someone’s mindset,” he added. He said such strategy is expected to enhance the consumers’ awareness level and make everyone feel the presence of DTI services. #
