DTU Tenure Track Are you one of the most talented assistant professors or researchers? DTU is one of Europe’s leading technical universities. It is an attractive career track of max. six years, during which you receive optimal career support in the form of professional and personal guidance. If you receive a positive external assessment at the end of the track, you will be transferred directly to a permanent position as an associate professor or a senior researcher.

Your tenure track employment kicks off with you and your manager preparing your career plan with
milestones for your work. Your performance is evaluated annually and you receive transparent feedback on your work. You and your manager will jointly focus on areas requiring support and development. During your employment, you will develop your teaching skills; you will receive support for external funding applications and financial support to cover travelling expenses, conference participation, and other network activities. If you are an international employee, DTU also offers onboarding support for you and your family. Midway through your employment, an evaluation committee including external experts will provide a midterm evaluation of your academic work. This midterm evaluation is a precursor for the final assessment and allows you to incorporate feedback into your work. At the end of the process, an external assessment committee will give you a final assessment of whether you are qualified for subsequent employment as an associate professor or a senior researcher. If the assessment is positive, you will be transferred directly to a permanent position as an associate professor or a senior researcher.
Our expectations of you • You will perform independent academic work at the highest, international level • You will participate in joint projects with leading research groups, advisory institutions, and business partners • You will act as a co-supervisor for PhD students and as a supervisor for MSc students • You will complete DTU’s Education in University Teaching • You will teach BSc, MSc, and PhD students • You will build up experience with heading a research group • You will actively seek external funding • You will participate in innovation activities, such as commercialization of research results and industry partnerships
