TABLE OF CONTENTS About Me I was born in Asuncion, Paraguay. At a very young age I was immersed in the world of design through my parents and began to explore my curiosities and creativity. As I grew older, my fascinations brought me to architecture. Where I started perceiving architecture as a tool, not only for designing, but to understand our surroundings and its powerful impacts and the exciting responsibilities and posibilities it holds in creating a better future. I am a firm believer that space foremost enhance the quality of people’s lives by providing more than just shelter. Throughout my education, I have developed a deeper understanding of how the human perceives spaces through our senses and how they can affect psycological development, interaction, and connections among others. The selected works were created throught dedication, passion and curiosity. I hope you enjoy.

Triad A Journey Through the Three Layers of Wellness Teammates: Lizbeth Corbera and Christian Papalambros

Triad is a design proposal that tackles the difficulties of implementing complex programmatic requirements for a center for healthy aging that extends beyond the limits of an ordinary experience. There will be three central elements of quality of life; individual autonomy, active engagement, and a sense of community. These elements derive from the aspects of wellness; mind, body, and spirit. Our design aims to create open and flexible spaces that are memorable and evoke an experience where the individual within the community and create their own environment depending on their needs

The goal is to demonstrate how learning the most miniscule component of the built environment prior to designing a building can have more successful outcome for the entire community. Contemporary variations on existing residential typologies with the other uses contribute to the dynamics and sustainability of the area are desired and to retrofit the given double-story condo unit in a row house to suit the new intent. Therefore, the proposal and building is design in a way, the entries have a half-wall and shallow canopy that lift and welcomes visitors towards each front door. Openings are carefully composed to edit the tight context. The idea is to embrace comfort and efficiency through passive sustainable strategies such as natural lighting, natural ventiltion, and a white roof.

The project consist developing a mixed-use sustainable housing building. Fragmental Urban Living is designated to be an actual proposal for the Alexandria Redevelopment Housing Authority (ARHA) who is looking to redevelop existing affordable housing sites into mixed-income and mixed-use developments. The goal is to demonstrate how innovative housing design in the proposed area could contribute to an active, pleasant mixed-use residential neighborhood capable to attract local economic activity and contribute to the development of better public and private spaces.

The proposal explores the range of trnasitions from the urban public and semi-public, to the architectural semi-private and private spaces. The spatial pattern, combined with a toughtful circulation system that balances the needs and desires of the pedestrian as well as that of the vehicular provides the armature for the proposal. Similar to the emphasis in public spaces, attention to mid-densities are key for the sustainable character of the proposal. Massing and landscape are intended to promote a healthy and comfortable urban lifestyle. The massing subsides into a trio of differently characterized zones through push and pull, they are organized around the three programmatic areas: commercial, central open public space, and residential areas. The large-scaled water element is the real focal point and creates enjoyable, playful, and relaxing experiences for the local residents and public visitors alike. The Water feature acts as a public heart. It sits in the middle of the open space and has three branches that break into the inside of the building. Along the path edges people can sit and enjoy the sun or lounge on custom seating carefully placed among trees and grass

The museum will serve all the functions typical of this type of institution including, displays, public events, hosting school groups. In addition it will host nonmuseum events inside and out. This is an important function for the community as well as a revenue source for the museum. The proposal is all about the circulation. The circulation in the museum is design in the way people moving throughout the building, is interacting with the physical, space surrounding them. The main concept is the exterior circulation that occurs prior to entering the building, as people approach the structure and the journey walking to the second floor framing the water-front.

The plan is to develop a mixed-income, mixed-use neighborhood by 2050 that will realize the potential of Brookland, D.C, to be an integrator and connector to the larger city. This proposal focuses on different countries that are projected to have mass migration caused by climate change. Therefore, considering the positive economic impact on the city and addressing the issues of equity, climate change, and affordability, the idea is to provide programs that will attract different cultures and support an equitable urban center.

Tangible Dreams

Ruler of the Earth

Location: Crough Center

Leaving our mark on Earth is only temporary. Behind Tangible dreams, there is a poetic way to see nature conquer what used to be hers. Reintegrating through broken windows, cracks on the walls and grass raising from the ground. Remind us forgotten spaces where nature has ragained its rights.

Humans are the world’s most dominant species. Therefore, harmony between man and nature should be achieved. Nature strives for balance, and we must support one another. Nature will win and we will have to comply.

Gates of Heaven

The other side

“As the cloud part, and a meadow breaks out. The sun shines, and I hear angels shout at the gates of heaven”

Behind this piece, I got inspiration of how we often only view and focus on one side of things. We should be open about what could be waiting for us on the other side.
