CAPTAIN’S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

We have had a busy start to the golf season with a number of major events already being played. I highlight, the excellent course condition in the early season, which has exceeded most in the region. Thanks to Harry and his team for their tremendous efforts over the summer and their on-going day-to-day works to present the grounds in fantastic condition.

The Men’s Scratch League team kicked off the season with a 3-1 victory away at Dubai Hills in what was a competitive and closely fought match. Further group stage matches will be played in the coming months prior to the knock-out stages later in the season.

I congratulate our Lady Captain Beatrice Galeppini on her efforts alongside the entire Creek team in arranging a fantastic Pink Day to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer causes in the UAE, with proceeds going to the Al Jalila Foundation. Beatrice and I look forward to welcoming you to our Captain’s Day in December for what promises to be a fun event and one that I am looking forward to.

As my last ClubLife post, I would like to sincerely thank all those who have supported me this year throughout my captaincy, with special thanks to the MCC board members, the entire team at the Club, Dubai Golf, Park Hyatt and several of my predecessors. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as Captain and I wish Mr. Gene Cha every success for his captaincy in 2023 during what will be a milestone 30th anniversary for the Club.
