Sarab Malhi, the Malhi Group’s young and successful Chief Operating Officer and Founder, finds satisfaction in building enterprises and assisting people in flourishing in all aspects of the business.

As a young entrepreneur, Sarab is continuously looking for new opportunities to learn more about her professional and personal life. She is not just a businesswoman but also an achiever and substantially impacts all of her coworkers.

She has been living alone in Dubai since 2017. She is working on her future and assisting individuals in many areas of society to be raised. Every day, her determined approach generates a plethora of realizations and learnings.

Sarab, from a middle-class family in India, pursued her passion for the medical field by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in New Delhi. After finishing her studies, she began her career as a staff nurse in her own country.

Sarab’s affiliates observed her abilities and willpower and helped her be in the marketing sector because she has so much potential. That effort inspired her to advance and raise her ideas for combining medicine and business.

Establishing great ventures

Learning enters the scene when she decides to be self-sufficient and make a goal in her life. Knowing individuals and developing a repertoire aided her in becoming the person she desires.

“When I first came to Dubai, I learned a lot of things and formed numerous networks with other individuals and partners. This is where I will study how to optimize my abilities, “ she revealed.

In her current set of firms, she owns four ventures: healthcare, healthcare management, cleaning services, and recruiting. In her life’s advocacy, the core of her love for the medical side never fades.

Sarab has never found it simple to start a business, especially because she has no idea where to begin. However, her capacity to be tenacious makes her a company Wonderwoman.

“One of the difficulties in starting my firm is that I do not know how to set up a corporation initially. But thanks to the support of those who believed in me, everything fell into place, “she stated.

She said, “I do not know, even about establishing my brand and running a business. Everything took me years to learn.”

Learner’s life

Her work experiences shaped and developed her ability to run a business. Her years in business have been full of ups and downs, but these obstacles and adversity have driven her to be more dynamic and dedicated in life.

She defines herself as a lady who is always learning to live life to the fullest, even when it is difficult, but she is now mature enough to handle everything.

“I’m still battling and learning until today. But now that I am calm and composed, I can manage my thoughts, emotions, and sentiments. She also stated that she now has a better vision, stronger ideas, and a strong will to pursue and achieve her goals,” she said.

Sarab feels that the learning time will always be a part of her journey; she knows she has goals ahead of her, and, rather than perceiving them as a risk, she wants to tackle them as part of her journey.

This astute young girl has a place in the business world. Her strong ambitions inspire and motivate many young people to strive for success in their careers and personal life.

Dubai Life

Her Dubai voyage keeps her alive and motivated by its well-organized and high-quality lifestyle standards, implying that individuals should be imaginative and forward-thinking. This expat paradise offers chances to people of various nations.

“I enjoy being in Dubai not just professionally but also personally. I like how everything is organized here and how lovely the setting is, “she stated.

When questioned about her plans to settle down, she told Dubai Vibes Magazine that she is already settled in Dubai and that it is all about the level of life and opportunities.

Joyce Cheng:

The power of staying upright at night

Joyce Cheng says she’s a night owl who likes ‘stuff that feeds my mind and fuels my creativity.’ ‘Early in life, I learned how to earn a living. As I was very persistent to chase my dream, I tried everything – from sewing bridal gowns to hairdressing, bookkeeping, massaging… the list goes on. I guess my will power, positivity and zest in life have taught me how to survive wherever I am, wherever I chose to be.’

As an operations manager at one of largest spa chain in UAE, Joyce Cheng’s days are always full of surprises. “There is no mundane day for me. Each is a chance to run with the wolves,” she tells Dubai Vibes Magazine. Joyce, who finished Bookkeeping in Malaysia before studying fashion, beauty and wellness in Singapore, said her job gives her the opportunity to do various functions – from training therapists to assisting with customer complaints and everything else in between. “It is rarely boring. My job continuously fascinates me,” she says. Joyce, who has been calling Dubai home for the past 10 years, had also stayed in Paris, London and Abu Dhabi.

“It is a beautiful city, very cosmopolitan,” she says of Dubai. “Lots to explore; same in the UK. You have chance to meet good prospects for business and interesting people from all walks of life. You will learn a Joyce Cheng says she’s a night owl who likes ‘stuff that feeds my mind and fuels my creativity.’ lot from this city because of its diversity,” said Joyce. She had previously gone to Hong Kong to pursue fashion designing and stayed there for two years. Joyce’s life journey began one day when she realized she would have to do it all by herself if she was to get to where she wants to be. “Early in life, I learned how to earn a living because my parents didn’t support my career choice,” she shared.

“As I was very persistent to chase my dream and make it a reality, I tried everything from sewing bridal gowns to hairdressing, bookkeeping, massaging…the list goes on. “I guess my will power, positivity and zest in life have taught me how to survive wherever I am, wherever I chose to be,” Joyce added And so, with an insatiable hunger for knowledge, she has developed the habit of spending hours at night surfing the net for things to learn. “This might sound unusual, but my day starts not like most people’s. Mine starts at midnight. I am a night owl, a late sleeper. I’m fond of ‘googling stuff’ like how-to tutorials, discovering the latest beauty or art products, and more. “I like stuff that feeds my mind and fuels my creativity. Apart from it, I make sure all things are prepared before I close my eyes. Then, I wake up late in the morning like say around 10am. I check my phone and email and sometimes have little snacks before I jet off to work,” she says. And finally, asked which part of Dubai is her favorite, Joyce has this quirkily witty reply: “My bed.”

“I’m busy at work. So, after a long day I just simply wanted to rest. But if I have the luxury of time, you can find me in the beachside with a glass of rose wine,” she says. Joyce is one of the pioneers who opened Dreamworks Spa, and has 10 branches in Dubai under her belt. She is a licensed medical massage professional and certified fashion designer, hairdresser, and cosmetologist. Joyce Cheng is hailed as the Eminent Operations Manager of the Year for Spa and Wellness category.

Vikas Katoch:

The essential things to know about building charity while working

Many people assume that every capability a person possesses is nurtured rather than natural. But, for some reason, Vikas Katoch, Right Health Holdings’ 37-year-old Chief Operating Officer (COO), has always had an entrepreneurial mindset, and everything he does has a strategy.

Starting from scratch may be difficult for many young professionals. They see it as a technological problem. Vikas, on the other hand, is obsessed with creating, molding, and building things from the ground up.

For almost two decades, this desire has driven him to work in financial and strategic roles. His experiences taught him to be grateful and to create new ideas. India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) helped him become clever. “I am privileged to be involved with numerous outstanding start-ups in my two favorite countries (India and the UAE) as COO of Right Health.”

Start-up

equipped people fight for the same position. Despite his difficulties, Vikas never gives up.

These previous experiences have helped him in his present role as an operations officer. His strengths include knowledge and enthusiasm, both of which have the potential to have a tremendous impact on society.

“I want to effect society’s well-being and influence individuals in a way that benefits humanity and a health system that serves everyone, including the poorest and most vulnerable, and provides the vast majority of services a person requires to be healthy,” Vikas added.

He believed that servant leadership leads to love in the noble healthcare field. When Vikas helps others, his excitement for them never fades; he always guarantees that each service is a form of love-filled support.

This generous man believes that spreading happiness and continuing to assist people in whatever way he can may make a huge impact in the world. His ultimate objective is to safeguard his family’s future. Vikas was expecting for more opportunities and a better day yesterday. “I believe that the ultimate goal of all endeavors is happiness,” he remarked.

Work-Life Blend

Vikas is a wonderful humanitarian in addition to being a COO and a businessman. He used to do volunteer work and co-create life and work. His actions connect and network everyone in the circle, thus the people he meets are always motivated.

“I believe in Work-Life Integration rather than work-life balance or life after work.” Volunteering is a fantastic way to stay social and meet new people. “Encouraging people to participate for social causes helps them de-stress and commit to social causes,” he says.

“I believe that everyone deserves to be in good health,” he added. This is my concept, and I practice it in business, people management, and my personal life,” he ended.

Ankit Mehta:

How to glisten brighter than a diamond

Ankit Suresh Mehta’s glittering life story began in Mumbai, India, when he discovered the world of jewels and its essence. This man had a rollercoaster journey in his career before becoming the managing director and co-owner of Palazzo Jewelry, and he had confessed that he had nothing in life.

“I completed my education in Mumbai, India.” I began my career in the jewelry sector as a workshop executive administrator. “My first employment was non-salaried,” Ankit Suresh Mehta explains, emphasizing that this was industry standard for interns. “I worked for free for about eight months to learn about jewelry manufacture and diamonds.” As part of my job routine, I used to take a two-hour train ride to this industrial facility and then return home. Due of the workload, I would sometimes spend the entire night in the plant.

Regardless of the difficulties he would face along the path, he maintained his resolve. Ankit became a typical worker since his circumstances was comparable to that of others competing in India’s rigorous battles.

“After work, I remember we would travel by local train in Mumbai and have lemon juice at railway stations as it was the cheapest refreshment you could get during those times. The famous Mumbai Street food, vada-pav, was our meal before sitting on the train for the two-hour-long journey home,” Ankit recalls.

“Life was just passing by, and I was hoping things would change and I could get an opportunity to do something good in my life,” he added.

With help from his brothers, Ankit got an offer to travel to Abu Dhabi for a salesman job with an AED1,500 monthly; it was 2005.

“I accepted it immediately,” said Ankit.

“I saw a Mercedes Benz as a taxi when I came out of the Abu Dhabi airport – it blew my mind. In my country, this car was rare to see on the streets. I decided to make my future here in the UAE and make my family proud,” he said.

Ankit has never looked back since that day– he kept working hard, succeeded, and achieved as time passed.

He worked the salesman job for three years, he said, then started his own company in Al Ain.

To date, Ankit is co-owner and managing director of Palazzo Jewellery, which has three branches in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi, focusing on going online.

“We are going with the flow. The jewelry industry is very much personal, emotional, and sentimental. But as the future is online, we need to be a part of it as well, and so we are working on a “Try home, try now’ approach, which is virtual jewelry that can be viewed on smartphone devices and give people a clear idea how it would look like if they purchase it,” said Ankit.

He said this could be scheduled with no charges and free delivery on purchase options. “We are planning to make it as flexible as possible for the different jewelry styles,” he said.

Looking back, Ankit has these words of advice: “Do your math. Do not go with others’ perceptions or ideas. Get your numbers right and work on a plan before executing something. Do a thorough study of what you are getting into.”

He is now recognized as Dubai Vibes Eminent Businessman of the Year in the E-Commerce category.

Vidya Rani: Living life beyond the stereotypes

“My life has been a perfect example of the importance of identifying the opportunities that come our way and having the courage to grab those opportunities to make the best out of it,” says Vidya Rani, who bagged the title “Inner Beauty” in the recently held Mrs. India 2021.

“When opportunity knocked at my door, not always did I have the skills required for that particular opportunity. But I took the plunge and learned along the way. I not only succeeded in the path, but excelled in every path. If I could do it, everyone can.”

A psychology graduate with a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Vidya has embarked on a journey to start a health care services company in Dubai. “I saw that there were gaps in the industry and felt a strong requirement to fill those gaps and provide the best solutions required,” Vidya, General Manager and founder of VAID Health Care Services company dealing with international patient services, said.

Vidya said she took part in the pageant to discover herself.

“Personally, I went through a phase of adversity and needed to go through a regime to push myself to reach heights. This journey truly gave me wings,” she said. Winning at the pageant, she said, “was a very special moment, especially the title as Mrs. India – Inner Beauty.

“It was an endorsement for everything that I believe in and practice. It reinforced my confidence and gave me fuel to embark on my journey in full spirit to create a positive impact on the lives of people.”

She said the opportunity to “influence and impact other people’s lives” keeps her going. Having gone on her journey, Vidya says she learned that it is better to live life beyond the stereotypes, and that, with grit and determination, it is possible to achieve anything.

“Also,” she added, “Everything in the world involves a team…always respect that.” Moreover, Vidya said, we are actually cheating ourselves with every excuse or alibi we make. So, she said, better to “live every moment to the fullest as today will never come again.”

The story of a grocery shelf boy who becomes an Executive Director

Be courteous to the “shelf boys,” the people who arrange items across the racks and assist you in finding the cookie jar you’re searching for, or was it the peanut butter jam? You just never know. That person may be the next Raju Gidwani, who was 23 in 1991 and, having just gotten his MBA a year before, was loading up rows and rows of shelves at supermarkets in Ajman and Sharjah instead of sitting in a swivel chair writing paperwork. Years later, Gidwani, who left his middle-class family’s textile company in Beawar, Rajasthan, India, to “make my own future, attain objectives, and self-dependence,” would become executive director of Shankar Trading Co., an affiliate of the very stores where he was “shelf boy.” “I started working with Shankar Trading in 1991.” I had to start from scratch. I began working as a shelf boy. I started my adventure from there. “I learnt the retail sector in a few of years,” Gidwani, now 52, told Dubai Vibes Magazine in a rare interview. In 1993, Gidwani was promoted from shelf worker to import procurement and logistics manager. He was appointed to manager two years later, in 1995. He was named general manager in 2010 and director of the company’s fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) segment in 2015. He was appointed executive director last year. Meanwhile, the firm has developed to become a vital participant in the UAE’s retail sector, serving as a major importer and wholesale distributor of “ethnic” FMCGs to major brands like as West Zone, Carrefour, Choitrams, and Lulu, as well as cooperatives. “It was difficult for me to leave India. During my studies, I spent time in India assisting the family’s textile company. It was a Raju Gidwani’s journey: From supermarket shelf boy to executive director By Jojo Dass difficult period for me working at a supermarket,” continued Gidwani, who was already assisting his father with the textile company when he was nine years old. Gidwani found brotherly affection in Naresh Bhawnani, chairman of West Zone Group, and supported him — a commercial connection that would bear reward over time. “There was only one West Zone in 2005,” Gidwani said. “The 125th (UAE) shop will open soon in Dubai,” he said. West Zone Supermarket inaugurated its 124th location in Abu Dhabi a week before this interview. According to Gidwani, the first West Zone branch opened in Mirdiff on December 2, 2005. Gidwani is also responsible for the widespread availability of Filipino FMCGs in the UAE. “I saw the possibility 20 years ago,” he explains. “When people come here (to the UAE), they miss their home food,” he said. Gidwani stated that his first visit to the Philippines was in 1995. He was soon doing business directly with the local manufacturers. So, after starting with about 20 Filipino items, Shankar Trading is currently importing and distributing over 1,000 in the UAE, he explained.

Gidwani’s spirit of being a good Samaritan is probably what keeps him going. On weekends, he works in social services. “I want to give back to the community.” I want everyone to be happy. “No one should go to bed hungry,” Gidwani remarked. “We’ve made a lot of money from this place. “It’s now time to give back to the community,” he said. Indeed, having gone full circle from organizing grocery shelves to importing and distributing merchandise, there appears to be nowhere else to go but back to the community, where it all began after all. Raju Gidawani is currently the Dubai Vibes Eminent Businessman of the Year for Chain of Superstores for 2022.
