The show will celebrate the fashion talent in the Clarendon Street to South Great George’s Street area. Featuring designer, avant-garde, vintage and specialist style, the show is set to highlight to Dublin shoppers the unique, artisan village that is the Creative Quarter. DFF by Night will continue the high street festivities after dark, with bars and restaurants across the city putting on special fashion events. If you are out enjoying stylish DFF cocktails specially put on by some of the city’s great bars you could see one of the many guerilla fashion shows turn up as part of the fashion parade. All of this and more makes Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th September the perfect time to shop & socialise in Dublin Town.”
“We have lots of fabulous fashion events planned for this year’s fashion festival, which is presented to you by DublinTown.ie, the new dedicated website for the places and events you need to know in Dublin city. A packed DFF programme of on-street fashion shows, great in-store events and lots of chances to get a start on your Autumn/Winter wardrobe awaits you. This year’s festival will also see some new exciting additions to the programme including, the DFF Creative Quarter Fashion show, an exclusive fashion movie premier, the DFF by Night Fashion Parade and even a celebrity fashion show in aid of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland. The Creative Quarter fashion show takes place on Friday, 7th September and will be the showcase event of this year’s festival. The outdoor evening fashion show, a first for Dublin, hosted by the face of the festival, Amanda Byram, will take place on the steps of the iconic Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.

DFF is delighted to have Amanda Byram as the 2012 Face of the Festival. Amanda, one of Ireland’s biggest exports, is a firm Saturday night TV favorite thanks to the award-winning BBC1 show, Total Wipeout, which has recently returned to our screens for it’s final series. Starting as a model at the age of 16 in Dublin, she shot to fame as the first ever presenter of Ireland AM. A popular presenter in the US since presenting Paradise Hotel and The Swan, Amanda has hosted backstage coverage for US network giant Fox at The Emmys and live coverage of The Royal Wedding to gigantic ratings on TLC in the USA. Since joining Sky 1 as a new face of the network Amanda has worked on a string of projects including Don’t Stop Me Now, which aired earlier this summer, and The Angel; a show which see’s six hopeful entrepreneurs invited to compete for £100,000 worth of investment to make their business dreams come true. The Angel is currently airing on Sky1, Tuesdays at 8pm. Commenting on the festival Amanda has said “I’m proud be the face of the 2012 Dublin Fashion Festival. This is a great festival because it’s not just about trying to promote our own wonderful designers and high street labels, but it’s also about our bars, restaurants and hotels. Dublin is a great city to spend time in, and this festival is about getting people back enjoying their city centre again.”

For the third year running, Jules Fallon, owner and MD of 1st Option Models, has styled, produced and coordinated the Dublin Fashion Festival Catwalk shows. Jules, who also features on the Midday Show on TV3, as well as Xposé, has worked in the fashion industry for twenty seven years. Her working days are spent enjoying the fruits of our fashion industry right here in Dublin City. Daily, she is styling shoots, directing fashion shows, directing models and much, much more.
