Kimia Khatami joined Pacific Harbor Line in November 2015 and was promoted to her current position in 2018. She began her career in transportation with Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska where she held various positions in the marketing and sales department. Her experience includes managing commercial projects, government relations, business development, and environmental regulatory compliance.
Kimia's efforts at Pacific Harbor Line have been recognized multiple times, including being a Progressive Railroading Rising Star in 2019 and being nominated for the 2017 Association of American Railroads John H. Chafee Environmental Excellence Award for her efforts in ensuring PHL’s environmental compliance in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Ms. Khatami also serves on the executive committee of several non-profit organizations including the Harbor Association of Industry and Commerce (HAIC), California Short Line RR Association (CSLRA), and the Long Beach Chamber International Business Association. She led the HAIC as the organization’s youngest President in its near 50-year history throughout 2020, and is a strong advocate for women’s progress in the industry. She received her bachelor’s in Political Science from Brigham Young University.
