What is the time commitment?
Participants spend ve consecutive days on campus at the University of Denver and nearby facilities for an intensive, deep-dive into leadership development. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the program all include an experiential element with a graduation ceremony taking place on Friday afternoon Lunch is provided each day
What are the admission requirements?
This program is designed for experienced professionals who are currently leading a team, enterprise or global initiatives, or major projects in a company or organization. The program requires a 15minute phone assessment that can be scheduled here.
Ideal candidates:
Are senior leaders
Have seven-plus years of direct people-management experience
Are leaders working on the enterprise (organization-wide) level
Leaders with fewer than seven years of experience are eligible for the Accelerated Leadership Experience.
Who are the program faculty?
Ali Boyd and Scott McLagan co-lead DLX. Each bring a wealth of diverse expertise and experience to the program, ensuring a rich and multifaceted approach to leadership development.
Ali Boyd is an executive coach, professor, consultant, and sought-after speaker who drives transformative growth in leaders, teams, and systems She specializes in working with senior leaders to leverage deep inner work for performance and transformational change, partnering with clients such as Google, Amazon, and the University of Michigan Ali designs and leads impactful leadership
programs while integrating her passion for systemic health, mindfulness, and global experiences into her practice.
Scott McLagan is an Emeritus Professor of the Practice in Management at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, where he led the Executive Leadership and Global Business elements of the Executive MBA program for 18 years before retiring in 2022. He continues to teach and consult in Leadership, Executive Team Development, and Strategic Planning/Execution, working with over 80 organizations including Newmont Mining and Kaiser Permanente
Together, they provide a dynamic blend of skills that strengthen the development of leaders across various sectors.
How much does DLX cost?
DLX tuition is $5,800 Many organizations provide nancial assistance for professional development programs Speak to your HR or L&D department to explore opportunities for employee sponsorship and discuss your organization’s L&D reimbursement policies.
Do you o er discounts?
We o er tuition waiver discounts for DU employees and 15% discounts for alumni, groups of three or more from the same organization, government and nonpro ts. Please reach out to us if you have more than ve employees that you'd like to send so we can discuss further discount opportunities.
How do I register?
1. First, you’ll need to schedule your 15-min introductory interview to ensure DLX is the right leadership program for your experience level and leadership development goals.
2. You can then register through our website on the Denver Leadership Experience webpage. If you are a DU Sta member who would like to register, visit our “Registration for DU Sta ” webpage for easy-to-follow- registration instructions
3. You’ll receive a welcome email from Executive Education one month before the program begins.
4. Ali Boyd, one of the program’s faculty, will schedule a 25- minute intake coaching call to get to know you and discuss your goals for the program.

We recommend business casual or casual attire One of the key bene ts of our programs is the hands-on, experiential activities, so it's important to wear something that allows you to move comfortably.
