Overview

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Organizational Development has collaborated with Daniels Executive Education to create monthly opportunities to continue your leadership and professional growth. These opportunities are an important focus for the Leadership Team, and they represent part of the succession plan for CPW As such, there is an expectation that alumni attend two classes a year

All sessions take place virtually over Zoom from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Each session includes:

A 90-minute virtual session hosted by a DU Faculty

A mix of new content and breakout sessions

This session will shine a light on some of the reasons behind the overwhelm that many leaders are feeling and offer some suggestions for resilience-building habits that can support sustainable performance Participants will have the opportunity to craft their own personalized rituals from a “menu” of habits They will leverage the support of their peers to ensure that they are set up for success as they implement their new routines

How might we build a place where people want to work? What’s love got to do with it? When we are in love, we build resilience against the forces that bring us down. This session will provide tools to engage your teams to build circles of true excellence, true engagement and fun! We joined CPW because of our love of natural resources in the outdoor environment. This session will help you build resilience through focus on the 20% of your daily/weekly week that you love.

While inevitable, difficult conversations can be one of the most challenging aspects of a leader’s job, and avoiding them can be costly for organizations, resulting in absenteeism, poor performance, turnover, and even litigation This session will help you to achieve the best outcome for all parties using a conversation blueprint to make conversations easier and help you stay in control

Negotiation with Pieter Van Ry

Negotiation is an activity that every leader engages in on a daily basis, whether it is something significant like a multi-year contract agreement, or something simpler like securing adequate staffing resources for a project This session will use Insights color energies, influence and concepts outlined in the book "Getting to Yes" to help you become more effective at negotiation and develop win/win solutions

For the 2023-2024 academic year, registration for the Alumni Development Program will take place via the online course platform NovoEd.

STEP 1 Locate your Welcome Email, a systemgenerated email from NovoEd which includes your login information

STEP 2 Log in to NovoEd using your credentials

STEP 3 Click the blue "Start Your Journey Now" button

STEP 4

Roll over any session and then click the blue "Learn More" button to learn more about the session and enroll when you're ready. Sessions in which you are already enrolled show "In Progress" instead of "Learn More"

Click the blue "Enroll" button to enroll in the session

STEP 6

If your plans change and you no longer wish to attend a session, click the three dots in the lower corner of the session on the main Learning Journey screen to withdraw
