Marine Plus reception at Piraeus Marine Club

A Cocktail – Reception, hosted by Marine Plus Principals’ Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry, in the presence of Mr. Sasho Milanov Dobrev - Executive Director, Mr. Kaloyan Petrov GunchevCommercial Director and Ms. Yana Tsankova Tsaneva, took place recently at the Piraeus Marine Club Mr. Dimitris Vranopoulos, CEO & President of Marine Plus SA welcomed the esteemed guests. The presentation of the shipyard and its goals for the future took place in a very pleasant atmosphere in front of representatives of the maritime community who attended the event.

“Bulyard shipbuilding industry” EAD is private single-member stock company incorporated and existing under Bulgaria’s Commercial Act and was established on 26.03.2004. Since May 2004 all assets of former Varna shipyard were acquired by “Bulyard shipbuilding industry” EAD. The foundations of the company have been laid in 1907. The company started with building and repair of small wooden vessels. The first steel vessel “Galata” was built in 1937. The modern look of the enterprise is formed in the1955-1980’s when the main production facilities, now acquired by “Bulyard shipbuilding industry” EAD, are built.

Today the activities of the company have as follows:

SHIPREPAIR & SHIPCONVERSION

Ship repair is the second largest activity in Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry ЕAD. The production facilities allow for common and class repairs

The yard carries out:

• All kinds of steel work, major steel repairs & renewals.

• Hull department – grit blasting up to SA2,5, SW, HPFWJ/300 bar/ cleaning, & painting of hull, decks, cargo holds & tanks.

• Tail shaft, propeller, rudder & steering gear inspection & repairs.

• Overhaul of main & auxiliary engines, turbine plants, boilers, compressors, pumps etc.

• Renewal & repairs of pipelines & valves of all ship’s systems.

• El. motors & generators O/H.

• Cargo gear & safety equipment repairs, testing & certifying.

• Ultrasonic thickness measurement.

New Construction And Design

Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry EAD has an agreement with IHB Shipdesign AD for design of sections, blocks, systems, etc. It has the opportunity to build steel volume blocks and metal structures with dimensions up to LxB (16mx 32m) and total tonnage up to 750t. The yard has highly qualified specialists and equipment for precise implementation of each project.
