Friday features a collection of vintage Texas Long Horn furniture including a settee, arm chair, coffee table and foot stool, an Eastman Kodak sliding carriage portrait camera and a Wooton style carved walnut fold out desk. Also a fine collection of mid-century modern furniture by George Nelson for Herman Miller. Jewelry items including a pair of 1.46 ct emerald and diamond dangle earrings, a pair of 14kt yellow gold oval cufflinks and a sapphire and diamond wreath pin. A Heinrich T H Heberlein Jr. violin, c1928 and two violin bows one by E. Martin Sacksen a European Pernambuco and an after Voirin, European Pernambuco, early 20th c. Various Persian and Indo-Persian runners and mats. Also a beautiful Bakhtieri hand woven wool rug, 10’ x 13’. A fine collection of Detroit Press Club art works which were contributed to the club from well-known comic and print artists from various newspapers around the country. Also a continuation of the collection of Disney and Warner Brothers animation cells and concept drawings (40) lots. Firearms including: a German Mauser C-96 (broom handle) semi-automatic pistol, a Colt Model 1911 .45 cal semiautomatic, c1918, a Nagant Russian 7.62x38mm revolver, 1941, a Colt single action army, .44 cal revolver, c1878 and a Le Protector 6mm French palm pistol, circa the late 1800’s. Bladed weapons including a WWII German Luftwaffe dress dagger with a Bakelite wire wrapped hilt and eagle guard and a German WWI Prussian Pickelhaube helmet of hard black leather with spike and interior liner. Decorative items including Gorham ‘Melrose’ pattern Sterling silver flatware, an Unger Brothers coffee set and Chinese Cloisonne items. Finally crystal and glassware including Daum Nancy, Murano and an Art Deco and slag glass and bronzed metal dresser lamp.

Saturday, January 20th at 11:00 am

The Saturday session is pleased to offer over 300 Victorian fairy lamps from the phenomenal collection of Dr. Henry and Grace Stricker of Milford, MI. The Strickers’ passion for collecting led to the accumulation of one of the largest fairy lamp collections in the United States, and their spectacular taste and joined knowledge is evident in the collection. The auction begins with the stunning and rare Victorian Clarke’s cut glass fairy lamp chandelier. Dispersed throughout the auction are selections for the beginning to advanced collector, including a variety of glass types, such as Burmese, satin, Nailsea-type, as well as a wide variety of styles, notably multi-unit epergnes, English ceramic bases, two and three piece examples, Moorish-style and figural fairy lamps, among many other pieces. Following the whimsical fairy lamps are curated lots of European and American silver, including an impressive Tane Orfebres sterling tea set, a selection of estate Oriental rugs, Asian porcelain and decorative arts, and a mixture of modern and traditional fine furniture. The auction also showcases fine jewelry in a variety of mediums, highlighted by a charming 18KT gold strawberry brooch laden with rubies and diamonds. Those with an interest in Oceanic art will be wooed by a small collection of carved wooden artifacts from Papua New Guinea, including a beautifully painted basketry yam mask and an impressive orator’s stool.

The Sunday session presents selected items from the Vasi estate collection, Troy, MI, featuring modern paintings, graphics and sculpture. CONDITIONS OF SALE The following Conditions of Sale are DuMouchelles’ and the Consignor’s agreement with the Buyer relative to the property listed in the auction catalog. The Conditions of Sale, the glossary, and all other contents of the catalog are subject to amendment by DuMouchelles by the posting of notices or by oral announcements made during the sale. All property is offered by DuMouchelles as agent for the Consignor unless the catalog indicates otherwise.

Mouchelles may retain as collateral security for the buyer’s obligations to DuMouchelles, any property or monies held or received by DuMouchelles for the account of the buyer. Payment will not be deemed to have been made in full until DuMouchelles has collected funds represented by checks, or, in the case of bank or cashier’s checks, until DuMouchelles has confirmed their authenticity. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. If any dispute arises after the sale, the sale record of DuMouchelles shall be conclusive in all respects.

17. Packing and Shipping. Shipping arrangements are the buyer’s responsibility and expense. If needed, a list of shippers is available from DuMouchelles. Buyer agrees that packing and handling of purchased lots by DuMouchelles employees are undertaken solely as a courtesy for the convenience of the buyers, and DuMouchelles is not responsible for damage or breakage which may occur during packing and handling and shipping by DuMouchelles or of other carriers or packers of purchased lots, whether or not recommended by DuMouchelles. Packing and handling of purchased lots is at the entire risk of the buyer. In the case of fragile items, DuMouchelles in their sole discretion may decline to package the items.
