She served for decades as an auxiliary board member at the Detroit Institute of Arts and was an active member of many cultural and community organizations. The sale begins with two impressive pieces of finely carved jade, one depicting Guanyin and the other a phoenix. Further highlights of the auction include a range of items from famed Danish silversmith, Georg Jensen, as well as Johan Rohde, one of his most prominent collaborators who helped establish the firm’s leadership in the field of 20th century silver. Serious collectors will be interested in the “Cosmos” tea and coffee set (lot 1014) and the ‘Harlequin’ cocktail shaker and tray (lot 1026).
