Friday features artwork including a sculpture by Israeli artist Aharon Bezalel (1926-2012) titled “King Solomon And The Lion” and a carved stone sculpture of a parent and child, unsigned. Oil paintings by Eugenio Zampighi (Italian 1859-1944), “A Game of Cards” and Joseph M. Kavanagh (Irish 1856-1918), a portrait of a cardinal. A large assortment of Warner Brothers and Disney animation cells by Chuck Jones and Virgil Ross. Historical items including a Civil War archive and family history in CDV cards and hand written letters of a Nehemiah Phillips and family, dating from 1861-1950. The CDV cards also include President Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth, Jefferson Davis along with the Phillips family. A second collection of 98 vintage black and white photos of 19th and early 20th century Egypt, including early photographs of the Suez Canal, the pyramids and temples. Furniture items including a Maitland Smith fine tooled leather top partners desk, an Egyptian mother-of-pearl and black lacquer parlor set and an oak and leather dice table. Fine hand woven wool Persian rugs including Tabriz, Kashmar and Kerman to name a few. A fine collection of table model cigar cutters made of Sterling silver, silver plate, bronze, brass, steel and ceramic. From a local consigner a carved wood life size cigar store Indian, 72” H. and a Black Americana cigar store figure, H 69”. Decorative items including a Louis Comfort Tiffany art glass vase and a Tiffany brass and caramel glass box. Jewelry items including a Tiffany & Co. Sterling silver puffed and open dual heart necklace and an antique pocket watch collection, a modernist 14 karat yellow gold ring set with diamonds and sapphires. Fine crystal items including a Lalique ‘Chene’ crystal tray, a ‘Roxane’ crystal vase, ring dish and a French bronze and crystal dolphin inkwell. (pastel drawings), Jack Lorimer Gray, Hans Dahl, Maurice Brazil Prendergast, Angel Botello, Marshall Fredericks (4 bronze sculptures), Additional fine arts of importance include works by: Benjamin Shipham, R.A., Evert Pieters, George Henry Hall, Francois Gall, Robert Wilbert, Mathias Alten, Carl Konrad Julius Hertel, Pablo Picasso, Maurits Cornelius Escher, Marc Chagall, Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux and Bernhard Heiliger. The second highlight of the session is German porcelain from a Livingston, MI major collector and features Meissen (including antique pieces), as well as Von Schierholz, Dresden and Sitzendorf. CONDITIONS OF SALE The following Conditions of Sale are DuMouchelles’ and the Consignor’s agreement with the Buyer relative to the property listed in the auction catalog. The Conditions of Sale, the glossary, and all other contents of the catalog are subject to amendment by DuMouchelles by the posting of notices or by oral announcements made during the sale. All property is offered by DuMouchelles as agent for the Consignor unless the catalog indicates otherwise.

Mouchelles may retain as collateral security for the buyer’s obligations to DuMouchelles, any property or monies held or received by DuMouchelles for the account of the buyer. Payment will not be deemed to have been made in full until DuMouchelles has collected funds represented by checks, or, in the case of bank or cashier’s checks, until DuMouchelles has confirmed their authenticity. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. If any dispute arises after the sale, the sale record of DuMouchelles shall be conclusive in all respects.

17. Packing and Shipping. Shipping arrangements are the buyer’s responsibility and expense. If needed, a list of shippers is available from DuMouchelles. Buyer agrees that packing and handling of purchased lots by DuMouchelles employees are undertaken solely as a courtesy for the convenience of the buyers, and DuMouchelles is not responsible for damage or breakage which may occur during packing and handling and shipping by DuMouchelles or of other carriers or packers of purchased lots, whether or not recommended by DuMouchelles. Packing and handling of purchased lots is at the entire risk of the buyer. In the case of fragile items, DuMouchelles in their sole discretion may decline to package the items.
