Women’s Aid have invited people to join them on Sunday in Oriel Park for their annual One Billion Rising event which sends a message to break the chain of violence against women.

WoMEn’S Aid Dundalk are hosting our very exciting annual event, one billion Rising, on the 26th of March, and we would love to have as many people as possible joining us!

This international campaign is the biggest mass action to end violence against women in human history. The campaign, which launched on Valentine’s Day 2012, began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than onE bILLIon WoMEn AnD GIRLS.

It has been such a successful event each year in Dundalk and Women’s Aid Dundalk hopes this year will have another great turnout.

To participate in this event all you need to do is learn a very simple dance routine and join us in oriel Park to unite us in this powerful campaign to ‘’break the chain’’.

You can register for this event free of charge on Eventbrite. For groups, please register the amount of individual people attending. Light snacks and refreshments available on the day.
