Féile na Tána celebrates the very best of traditional music

FéILe na Tána is back in person for its ninth festival celebrating the very best of Irish traditional music, song and dance in Cooley, Co Louth in the heart of Oriel.

The festival will take place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of February.

The tutors for 2023 are Mary Bergin, Bríd O’Donohue, Mick O’Brien, Michelle Mulcahy, Louise Mulcahy, Dermot Byrne, Caitlín nic Gabhann, John Mc Intyre, nell ní Chrónín, Gerry Banjo O’Connor, Jimmy Higgins, Seosamh Ó neachtain, Zoë Conway and Bríd Harper.

Féile na Tána would like to thank everyone who supports this wonderful festival each year including Arts Council Ireland and Create Louth.

7pm Launch concert at St Michael’s Hall, Carlingford.

Featuring local musicians Zoë Conway and John Mc Intyre

Also featuring the Traditional Orchestra of Scoil naomh Lorcan, Omeath

Followed by young musicians’ session in St Michael’s Hall - all welcome! Free admission.

Saturday 4th February— 1.30pm Registration; 2.00pm - 5.00pm Workshops. each of our world-renowned tutors will teach at Bush Post Primary School.

Classes are limited to 17 students per class. Workshops cost €35/£30.

Sunday 5th February— 3pm St. Michael’s Hall. Another highlight of Féile na Tána is the very special Festival Concert on Sunday 5th February which gives a platform to some of Ireland’s talented young musicians and also features two of Ireland’s leading traditional players, fiddler Bríd Harper and accordian player, Dermot Byrne.
