As we celebrate the birth of our nation, we can reflect on the many wonderful ideas our nation stands for. Some of the quotes of our most famous documents express the heart’s cry of our founding fathers such as “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…” and we are “one nation, under God, indivisible.” Such declarations express the purpose and intent for all the people who become citizens of this great nation. Among the unique privileges of our citizenry is the right of free speech, to speak out in favor or disapproval of laws, political leaders, or any position; everyone has a right to express their ideas publicly or privately without fear of reprisal. While these privileges are to be valued and preserved, we must realize that there is an unseen force at work to destroy this nation. Over the past several years, there has been an ever-increasing animosity of one group against another. Strife, accusations, condemnation, judgments, finger pointing and blame have galvanized the positions of large segments of our society, bringing great division. Why is that a problem? Jesus said, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand” (Mt. 12:25). Continued on Page 8

Within these past few months, stress levels among people have increased drastically. Whether you’re a business owner just trying to get by or a parent trying to care for a child who is stuck at home due to school closures, it’s safe to say that 2020 is no one’s favorite year. Luckily, reflexologist Louise Richardson is here to calm your pent up anxieties. Louise moved from her home state of Rhode Island to the Tampa Bay area in 1989. Nearly 10 years later, she began studying and practicing reflexology and has enjoyed helping her clients along with friends and family cope with their anxieties, migraines, and stress levels. Her passion for the practice began when her husband suffered from sciatica. One of her friends who practiced reflexology helped her husband overcome his condition when the medical alternatives were not reasonable. Since then, she attended a long series of workshops to learn more about the practice and later became fully certified. “What I really love about being a Reflexologist is being able to help people become happier and easing their pain,” said Richardson.

“After I’m done with someone’s treatment, you can really see the difference in their emotions. It makes me feel like I have done something good for somebody else. It’s truly a gift from God.” Reflexology is a holistic practice that dates back to 2300 BC to help people reduce stress and tensions in a more natural way. It is administered with hands only and no tools or instruments are needed while one receives treatment. It uses a philosophy that uses reflex points on the hands and feet that correspond to all of the various parts of the body. When these reflex points are stimulated, the body responds in a positive way. It works well with other healing modalities such as acupuncture, physical therapy, and massages. Ultimately, the treatments stimulate the body to heal itself over a long period of time. Louise has reopened for business and offers her services by appointment only. Hi, my name is Harley, and today we’re gonna talk about the Revolutionary War. It began in 1775 and ended in 1783. It was a war that the colonists fought against the British so that they could live as an independent nation in the colonies and worship God. Also, they did not want to pay the extra tax to Britain. Let’s talk about the Boston Tea Party, one of the many events that led up to the Revolutionary War. It all happened on December 16, when the Sons of Liberty threw tea overboard off a ship because they did not want to pay for it. The Revolutionary War took kids’ parents, adults’ children, men’s wives, and people’s friends. They felt HORRIBLY TERRIFIED. I am thankful that I do not have to go through those things. They did not go through that for nothing. They eventually won their freedom. Was it easy? No. Did they have to pay a high price with people? Yes. I like my backyard. I like the pool. I like church. After most of us have been stuck indoors for the past few months, a breath of fresh air and the beautiful Florida weather sounds like something that we all need. What is a better way to spend the day outdoors than golfing? Heritage Harbor Golf and Country Club is an 11,000 square-foot property that provides an assortment of resort style amenities and a 6,900 yard par-72 golf course with four sets of tees, a total of 18 holes, and breathtaking scenery. During this very stressful pandemic, the Heritage Harbor Golf Course is still currently open to the public while staff members enforce social distancing guidelines. Only one person is permitted in each golf cart unless it is occupied by residents of the same household. Carts are disinfected after every round and cups are placed inside the golf holes to prevent the ball from going too far into the ground and other people from spreading germs from touching the holes. Everyone is free to have a fun, safe, and Covid-19 free game of golf! Golfers of all levels are allowed to play on the course. “It’s a golf course that has four sets of tees, meaning there are yardages for beginners up to advanced players.” said Pro Shop Manager John Panno. “The yardages are set up for the single-

digit handicap golfers or could also be set up for people who are just learning the game.” For those who are interested in improving their techniques, Heritage Harbor offers monthly free clinics for both children and adults. The classes are about 45 minutes offered on one Saturday each month. My Experience: Oronzo Honest Italian By Brittany Cravatta

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, Oronzo Honest Italian opened its doors to customers in the New Tampa area. During the week of June 8th, owners Dan Bavaro and Bob Johnston held an open house event during specific times of the week, where locals were able to experience the new restaurant while enjoying some complimentary meals. As an American woman with a large percentage of Italian in my blood (my grandfather hailing from Sicily and my grandmother hailing from Naples), I decided to check it out thanks to a good friend Sandy, who notified me of the event and hooked me up. On June 11, 2020, my mother and I drove out to New Tampa at around 4:00pm to visit Oronzo, and both of us were extremely pleased with our experience. One of the workers greeted us and gave us guidance on how to order. They provided two touch screen menus for customers to order. They had 10 categories of different meal selections. Everything on the menu was in Italian but translated into English: Insalate (Salad), Piadina (Italian Burrito), Piatto (Pizza Dish), Pasta (Pasta), Forza Bowls (Power Bowls), Bambino (Kids Meal), Zuppa (Soup), Dolci (Desserts), and Bevande (Drinks). It took me awhile to choose what to eat. All of the selections were hard to choose between. I ended up getting a Chicken Parmesan Burrito. I know it slightly sounds strange since Italians aren’t quite known for burritos, however the description sounded appetizing. It was basically a burrito stuffed with freshly cooked chicken, parmesan cheese, freshly made tomato sauce, and spaghetti. My mother ordered one of the Forza Bowls - a protein bowl which contained farro, mushrooms, heirloom tomato, feta, spicy soppressata, grilled chicken, and pesto. Since the meal was completely free for us, one of the employees encouraged us to order a dessert. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity, so we ordered the Nutella Piatto - a warm piatto stuffed with nutella filling and powdered sugar on top. After we were done ordering, we got a personal tour of the kitchen! The employee who gave the tour informed us of all of the products that are used to make the food fresh, and exactly how it was prepared. All of the ingredients were natural and shipped directly from Italy. The tour didn’t last too long. It was around the same amount of time that it took for our food to be prepared. During the tour, the employee showed us a large tank full of (what looked like) orange juice. She said it was their specialty drink called Oronziata - Oronzo’s signature blood orange beverage made from scratch. She gave me a sample. It tasted pretty close to orange juice but with a mango aftertaste. She told us that it was made from a special recipe that Dan’s family enjoyed all of the time in Italy. Oronzo Bavaro and his wife immigrated from Italy to Brooklyn, New York in 1939 with a

handful of family recipes. Oronzo even owned a trucking company that delivered his fresh ingredients to local markets. Oronzo’s grandson Dan Bavaro is the founder of the Oronzo Honest Italian and carries the legacy of sharing his Italian heritage with his community. After spending many years in New Jersey owning his first business, Dan and his family moved down to Florida and opened their first restaurant on the corner of Twiggs and Franklin in Downtown Tampa. The goal was to blend the Italian authenticity with the upscale environment of the city. Unlike the fancy dining stereotype that most people think of when they hear “Italian Dining”, Oronzo’s Honest Italian has a more relaxed and casual environment while still serving more authentic Italian dishes at a relatively reasonable price. GFWC Donates to Food Banks GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members have continued to donate food, hygiene items, clothing and money since the beginning of COVID-19 and area job loss to local food banks and pantries. Members have delivered donations on a weekly basis to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Land O’Lakes. In the past several weeks, the club has donated $2000 to CARES of Pasco County and $2000 to Metropolitan Ministries for their missions of feeding the food secure in our area. In addition, many club members have individually stepped up and donated more than $1,000 in food donations weighing in at over 500 lbs. and delivered same to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry and other local food banks. COVID-19 SPECIAL! $10.00 DURING JULY For 2020, we are doing a 12-month summary of my book. It is filled with unbelievable personal stories of conflict from family fights, divorces, and personal insecurities to living in a tree at 15, homeless. Later, the book recounts how the Lord’s guidance put me on the path of an overcomer! From being unloved, unwanted, and uncared for to healthy, happy, and whole. CHAPTER 7: “A FIFTH OR A CASE?” I had been saved for four to five months when my friend Stephen threw a Bible onto the front seat of my car and told me that needed to read the Bible. On my first “Bible reading night,” I grabbed a couple of beers, turned on my music, plopped down in my beanbag chair and contemplated how in the world I would read this book. I decided I would just open it up, and wherever it fell, I would start from there. It opened to the book of Proverbs, and I began right where I looked, chapter 20, verse #1. “Wine is a mockery and strong drink is raging and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” Have you ever been hit in the stomach and not been prepared? I realized that God wanted me to stop drinking. I had been drinking four cases of beer a week for three or four years – and He wanted me to stop! Wait, there’s more….in the book! The topic we are talking about now is separation. I had learned the night before that God was asking me to separate from my worldly lifestyle. So, let’s talk about the truth to be learned – solitude. The Bible uses the phrase “set apart unto a holy purpose.” For me it was very hard, very obvious, and very uncomfortable. The point is, that when I let go of all my old ways and old friends, there was definitely a time of loneliness and solitude. But I filled the emptiness with new church friends and new activities. This was the beginning of a new lifestyle in Christ. My world changed for the better. It was the beginning of a lifelong change called transformation. (Romans 12:2) The concept of unequally yoked is easy to comprehend – it is just hard to do. (1 Cor. 6:19-20) I am a temple of God. God is Holy and He wants us to be holy. (Peter 1:16) The topic is highly controversial, and I want to be clear that it is also very individualistic. By the way, separation is a two-step process. You separate yourself from sin, and then to God. When you read the book, you’ll find the “5 Things to Help Us Transform.” These articles contain an abbreviated version of my stories. Ernest Walker started as a State Farm agent 17 years ago in the Chicagoland area. State Farm began in 1922 and has been a property & casualty industry leader since the 1920’s. Ernest was drawn to the company’s strong brand and high integrity. The Great Florida Outdoors: Reading the Landscape Dr. Robert Norman, Clinical Professor, Dermatology, Nova Southeastern University

How do you read the Florida landscape? What are questions you could ask yourself when you are out in Florida nature? James V. Buckner (B.S., M.S.) is currently a Florida Master Naturalist Program Instructor in Marion County, and a retired Naturalist/Instructor for the Silver River Museum & Environmental Ed. Center and Central Florida Ecologist, State of Florida, Division of Forestry. “Here is a general outline reflecting things I often ask my students to consider, in order to evaluate an ecosystem in front of them as part of the Florida landscape.” Buckner contributed these questions: 1. Look at the topography of the area. What do you notice about the landscape? For example: is the landscape hilly? Flat? Sloping? Noticeably wet? Dry? Consistent? 2. Look up/Look high! Describe what you see. 3. Look around! What is the structure of this ecological community like? Is the inside of the community shaded, or open and sunny? What might influence this structure to be as it is. 4. Look down! Describe what you see on

the ground. 5. What is the soil like here? Take a soil sample, if you can. If you can’t take a soil sample, look at mounds excavated by digging or burrowing animals (including ants & other insects). How does the soil in those mounds compare to the soil on the undisturbed surface? Try to get a sense of soil moisture and fertility in this place. How will those affect this ecological community as a whole? 6. How are a) the structure of the community, b) what you discovered on the surface of the ground, and c) the soil characteristics all interrelated? 7. What are the dominant plants in various layers of this community? Plants (if any) in the: a) Overstory b) Mid-story c) Shrub layer d) Ground cover If you know that any of the above plants are not native to Florida, put [brackets] around their names. 8. Name or describe any animals that you see, or discover evidence of, in this community. Remember, animals don’t have to be large (worms and insects count too, for example). 9. What kinds of evidence can be used to determine an animal’s presence, even if the animal, itself, is not seen? Which of those types of evidence did you find here? If you know which animals were indicated by the evidence you found, name them. 10. Try to discover evidence of physical factors that could affect this community or its individual inhabitants? What evidence did you find? Is it likely that this community is oc-

casionally burned? How can you tell? Is it likely that this community is occasionally flooded? What evidence can you describe for that? Could the physical disturbances, described above, have happened naturally (without human influence)? 11. Try to find evidence of other disturbances to the community, either influenced or not influenced by humans. List them below. Predict how each one may affect this community, over time. 12. What ecological community most likely would have preceded the one that is here now? What evidence supports your above answer? How long ago do you think that may have been? 13. Under what circumstances might this community succeed to (change to) a different community? Under those circumstances, what community might it become? 14. What do you think the best outcome of the above change might be? Why do you think that outcome would be best? What would probably be the worst outcome?

What do you think will be the most likely outctome, here, in this particular location? 15. What can you personally do to positively influence the outcomes you predicted in the question above? As you continue to read, travel and learn more in nature, refer back to these questions. Perhaps keep a diary of your observations and see how your knowledge of reading the landscape improves. GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club proudly announces its four 2020 Annual Club Scholarship awards in the sum of $2500 each. Recipients are recent graduates of Steinbrenner High School, Brianna Sandner (FGCU), Joseph Pereira (USF), and Maggie O’Shea (FSU) and Sunlake High School graduate Morghan Copeland (UF). Three additional scholarships of $5000 each were also awarded to Lutz residents/graduates from the (decommissioned) Lutz Fire Department Endowment Fund for a total of $25,000 awarded in scholarship grants. The Woman’s Club heartily congratulates all seven of the outstanding recipients of its scholarship awards and wishes them every success in their future studies.

Hurricane season is officially here. Although the county has focused on the COVID-19 pandem-ic, it is crucial to prepare for other disasters. The Pasco Sheriff ’s Office encourages citizens to plan ahead for hurricane season. Preparing today can save lives and protect your property during a storm. A crucial first step is to make sure you have a hurricane supply kit. Your kit should include water, non-perishable food, batteries, toiletries, first-aid supplies, medications, cash and fuel. It is important to remember pet supplies, as well. It is recommended to stock enough food and water to last three days per person. The Pasco Sheriff ’s Office suggests obtaining sandbags in advance to prepare your home for hur-ricanes. Waiting until the storm is here can mean that supplies might be low in stock. If you don’t have storm shutters, consider purchasing plywood to fabricate shutters for your windows. Ensure outdoor items are properly secured or stowed away when a storm is in the forecast. Keeping trees trimmed and disposing of fallen limbs and other yard debris is a good idea before and during hurricane season. Debris and outdoor furniture can become projectiles during a storm, so it is important to secure these items before a storm arrives. It is also important to properly clean your gutters as part of hurricane preparations. If an evacuation order is issued for your area, please follow it. If you plan to evacuate, keep in mind that community shelters may be limited on space and should only be used as a last resort. Before evacuating make sure to have copies of important papers, including your driver’s license and insurance policies. Let friends and family know where you are going and remember to lock your windows and doors before leaving. If you choose to shelter in place, plan ahead. Designate a safe room, such as a windowless closet or bathroom on the lower floor of your home. Fill containers with water, to give yourself an al-ternative in case water sources become contaminated during the storm. Additionally, if flooding occurs in your home, turn the power off at the main breaker to prevent further damage and harm. In the event of a power loss, it’s critical to know what medical equipment will become unusable and make a plan for its absence. Although most dangers from a hurricane are apparent, such as wind damage or storm surge, there are additional risks that are less apparent. For example, drive carefully and avoid flooded roads. Staying informed during a storm will help you and your family stay safe. The National Hurricane Center forecasts are an accurate source of information along with the Pasco Sheriff ’s Office Fa-cebook and Twitter accounts. Bear in mind that the areas effected will extend beyond the center of the storm. Pasco Tax Collector Donates to School District’s ABC Program

Tax Collector Mike Fasano’s five offices will be collecting donations in July for the Pasco County School District’s ABC (Assist, Believe, and Care) Program. The program was created to provide financial assistance to students and their families who are experiencing economic hardship, especially when those needs interfere with the student’s ability to be academically successful. The cash donated goes into a fund that teachers can use when they see or learn of a need a child may have. In past years this office has donated thousands of dollars to Pasco schools to support this important program. “COVID has brought uncertainty to so many people, especially those who have been economically impacted by it,” comments Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “The strain can be

enormous, especially when a parent loses a job or a single parent is struggling to raise children while doing all they can to make ends meet. Children without food, adequate clothing or other unmet needs often suffer academically. The ABC Program was designed to help students and their families who are experiencing hardship or crisis. Clash of the Kingdoms

By Pastor Dan Coughlin, River of Life Church The late Bishop Tony Palmer made this statement, “diversity is divine, but division is diabolical.” We all have opinions of what is right and what is wrong and who is to blame. We have this need to take sides and express ourselves, defend our position, and slander and blame those we disagree with, but is that beneficial for our cause or us? The Bible shows us that there are two kingdoms on the Earth. There is the kingdom of God that is described as the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. Everybody is in one of these kingdoms. If we have come to understand that Jesus is our Savior, he died for our sins, he took upon himself our judgment, he rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God and by faith we have received his forgiveness and acceptance then we have been, “delivered from the authority of darkness, and have been translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son” (Col. 1:13). The kingdom of darkness can best be described by the many ways the word “darkness” is defined in scripture – night, blindness, ignorance, ungodliness, immorality, misery, destruction, death, sorrow, wickedness. All of these conditions or actions give evidence to the work of those who are still in the kingdom of darkness. How should we, as believers, respond to these divisive efforts that would destroy our nation? First we need to realize that the problem is not the darkness, but the absence of light. Light will always overcome the darkness. Second, we can’t resolve anything with those in darkness by using the same tactics. Blaming, name-calling, criticizing, condemning only brings greater division. You can’t blame a blind man for not seeing. If you try to reason with a blind man he will still be blind. You can yell at a deaf man but he still will not hear you. We can blame the blind or we can address the darkness. Our struggle is not with people but against “the rulers of the darkness of this

world” (Eph. 6:12). Jesus gave us authority to bind and to loose in earth what he has done in heaven (Mt. 18:18). You have been given authority to bind the darkness and loose those who have been kept in its captivity. Last of all, we can walk in the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21) or we can demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22,23). If we walk according to the flesh (criticizing, condemning, and blaming) we only bring more divide. If we give demonstration to the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control), then those in the dark can see a better way and taste the sweetness that is only found in the Kingdom of light. Taking a stand for what is righteous and good is a privilege we should all exercise. Protesting injustice, demanding policy changes, and refusing to bow to tyranny and abuse are all characteristics that gave birth to our exceptional nation but killing, stealing, and destroying are the activities of a dark kingdom. Let us not tolerate the abuses of darkness but let us “do all things without murmurings and disputing: that we may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom we shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:14,15). Under God’s Control

In these last days, the Lord’s eye is not fixed on world powers but on the church of Jesus Christ. God is not focused on the economy, on the rise of world religions, on the roaring of the heathen. According to Isaiah, the nations are to God “as a drop of a bucket” (Isaiah 40:15). They are all under His sovereign rule and reign. God knows all about terrorist threats, wars and rumors of wars. His Word warns that the heathen will rage, secular powers will try to outlaw Christianity, and fast-growing, antiChrist movements will boast they’ll rule the world and destroy Jesus’ followers. The Bible says this about it all: “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us” (Psalm 2:2–3). In short, “Let’s cast away all moral hindrances, all moral landmarks of the past.” Here is God’s reaction to these earthly powers and demoninfluenced men: “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision” (2:4). No matter how desperate things look, everything remains

under God’s full control. I’m thankful for this word from the Psalms. More and more, we hear reports of secularism wiping out the evangelical church in Europe; of Islam being the fastest growing religion in the world; of homosexuals hijacking entire denominations; of Christ’s church growing so weak it no longer has any impact on society. Yet God’s Word declares, “On Christ the Rock God will build His church.” “The gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18). Nothing from the bowels of hell can hope to destroy Christ’s church. His eye is always on His people, and through everything He warns Satan and his hordes, “Do not touch the apple of My eye.” “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake” (Isaiah 54:15). Do you see what God is saying here? “The devil is going to come at you. Enemies out of hell will gather together against you. But Satan will not succeed.”

When my personal training career started in this area over 17 years ago, Mark Dunn called me and asked if I wanted to be a part of their paper. I was new in business in this area and knew I had to get my name out there, so this was the first media outlet I had ever advertised in. As people started to hear about what I offered, through THIS paper, my name started to get out in the community, and in a few years I became the #1 producing personal trainer in the large gym I was in, out of 2,000 trainers! When it was time to go out on my own, God used THIS paper to give me the confidence that I could find clients outside of that gym. I knew I must, because I wanted to create an environment for women that didn’t want to be in a gym. That wanted a safe place they could work out and not feel judged. I also enjoy catering to Christian women who liked that our studio cared about that. Now we have trained over 6,000 people, have 17 trainers, won the Small Business of the Year Award by the Chamber, give free seminars to the community, and started a meal prep service delivered to your home. We opened our 5th location in Palm Harbor, and we just moved our Wesley Chapel location into a new building that we own. We also have Land O Lakes, Carrollwood, Westchase, and more to come! I thank God for bringing this paper into my life, and I am SO grateful, for they helped give me the original confidence that I could build this business, and look what its turned into and the amount of people we serve!
