We choose to go back to the days when goods were produced locally by blacksmiths, wood workers and weavers, these skilled craftsmen used readily available local resources and made goods intended to last at least one lifetime. For our new 2010 collection we have looked carefully to every design we make and to all the suppliers we work with, to make sure our Duo Quality Outdoor Furniture design product are practical, not only for outdoor but also fabulous for indoor, of best quality and made of ethically sourced sustainable materials. PRODUCTION BACKGROUNDS Furniture is one of the upmost elements of refining and defining our home and they’re critical source of our inspiration and character. The hands of the craftsman and the materials used in our Duo furniture should therefore be just as important as those elements you will use to embellish the aesthetics of your homes.
Aluminum and our fibers are forged, molded and woven into commodious shapes by human hands, these raw materials meets with the function of our everyday outdoor furniture that inhabit homes, gardens, villas, restaurants, hotels and resorts. We adopt these materials into our space in the shapes of furniture as they transforms into objects of art that offer a sensual experience than more furniture could. Our weaver’s hand bare the splendor of a small woven object from East Java, which resembles the Ketupat where according to ancient legendaries Gods cooked rice in.

A veteran cushion maker; Agus Sutrisno discovered textile as a medium not by accident. It has been his enthusiasm and Agus does not just make cushions, he constructs and molds them.
Weaving is an endangered craft, our weavers have learned from their fathers and families. Yanto is know in our factory as “the master weaver”. His hands worked the in the weaves for more then 20 years. P r o u d l y p r e s e r v i n g t h e t ra d i t i o n .

Even as a little boy, Hendrik knew he wanted to weave furniture. No wonder this tiny man came as one of the best furniture weavers in Indonesia. Working for many days on one furniture piece with his bare hands, always keeping perfection as one thing he believes, understanding the slightest weaving mistake can ruin. the furniture.
Surip has been a welder all of his life. He grew up in a small village in East Java where his father was also a respected welder. He started learning the welding craft from his father. He moved to Duo in Bali five years ago and has been with us ever since.

DUO WEAVES FIBER FAQ Q: Are DUO weaves fiber suitable for year-round outdoor use ? A: Yes. DUO weaves fiber is designed to be insensitive to temperature differences ranging from -70 to 80 C. Q: Won’t the color of DUO fibers fade ? A: No. DUO weaves fiber won’t fade, even if it’s exposed to extreme weather conditions during summer and winter. Q: Are DUO weaves fiber safe for the environment? A: Yes. DUO weaves fiber are made from high density polythylene, which is non-toxic (even when burned, no toxic substances are generated) and 100% recyclable. Q: What about the rain, salt water and chlorine ? A: DUO weaves fiber is resistant to all of them, so it’s safe to be used at the beach and by the pool even suntan lotions and creams aren’t a problem! Q: Does DUO weaves fiber require special cleaning and maintenance ? A: No special maintenance is required. Simply clean using wet cloth. An occasional cleaning using soap or a mild detergent is also recommended.

CHOOSING FURNITURE 1. If you choose indoor chair designs with upholstered/embedded cushion, you may want to choose faux leather fabric for easy maintenance. 2. Teak-wood top tables great combination but high in maintenance; you may want to use it under shade for easier cleaning while keeping its coating in top condition at all times. It goes great outdoor too, but don’t forget to regularly maintain its finish. Some houses would prefer them weather naturally, though. 3. Our tables are available in customized measurements; ask for a quote to get the price of the sizes you want. 4. Create L-shape or U-shape modular lounges for your living area by adding, mixing and matching our sectional Bahama and Nairobi sofa lounges. 5. Laguna Daybed with Canopy is so compact with its knockdown system on all its four pillars. You may use it with or without the pillars and canopy. 6. What model goes with what weave? Check our complete pricelist where you can find the weave options of every furniture model. 7. Customized model with different weaves and sizes for special projects are most welcome. Ask further for our quote. 8. Optional packaging service for furniture (in foam sheet and carton wrap) and special packaging for glass tops (in wooden crates) is available.
ADDITIONAL PARTS 1. Kick-plates are very useful for outdoor heavy-duty purposes. They protect the weaves on the bottom legs and keep your furniture in great shape no matter what. 2. All our spare-parts (plastic feet, aluminum or wooden legs and feet, wheel, sunbed supports, plastic gliders, kick-plates, canopy hinges with pin system, and canopy frame) are with one year warranty and sold separately. Order some extra if you need any. 3. Glass tops can be great option for indoor purposes. They are quoted on standard version 5mm thick. Different thickness and tempered version is also available upon request. 95
OAM, FABRICS AND CUSHIONS
1. Our cushions and backrests of our lounges are not the style you want? Our options are using standard style (as in our catalogue), however customized fluffy style is also available by adding 50% ‘dacron’ layers for your very own personal comfort.
2. Add splash of colors to the lounge area by adding colorful and patterned throw pillows.
3. All canopy fabrics in Sun Proof material are included for all daybeds and are fully detachable for easy cleaning.
4. Duo Plush Fabrics are locally sourced material to withstand harsh tropical sun and rain for a year. White colors in Sun Proof material are most advisable for longer period of use.
5. Order extra cushion, pillow and canopy fabrics in various colors for different occasions.
6. Duo Plush in Faux Leather material only requires light spot cleaning with damp cloth when necessary, great for indoor and occasional outdoor use.
7. All cushions and pillows are quoted in standard foam. For all year round outdoor use, you may want to consider using Quick Dry Foam option.
8. Other than our Duo Plush fabrics option, Sunbrella® fabrics with 5 years warranty are also available upon request. If you need other color option than in display, feel free to ask.
AINTENANCE AND CARE
1. Our weaves are so durable ad low in maintenance; you only need damp cloth to clean our furniture from dust and dirt. For harder stain use mild soap, water and brush.
2. Although some houses love their teak wood grey with weather, some may want to re-sand and re-coat their teak wood every 4 to 6 months to keep its shine.
3. Our Sun Proof fabric and Sunbrella fabrics are washable and laundry-machine friendly, however wash only when necessary to keep their beautiful color last.
4. White colors in Sun Proof material are most advisable for longer period of use. Use bleach to restore its color from time to time.
5. Duo Plush in Faux Leather material only requires light spot cleaning with damp cloth when necessary.
6. Furniture covers in Water Proof fabrics material are available in the case you need them to cover your beautiful furniture from dirt and dust when they’re not in use. They’re available in Crème and Light Grey color, not washable.
