Private watercraft permits are also available at the Blackwell boat-rental building, when open. People 65 or older, U.S. military personnel, and honorably discharged U.S. veterans are entitled to one free annual permit of each type per household per year.

Campsite, Shelter and Picnic Area Reservations Fees are nonrefundable regardless of why you cancel (even for weather), but you can change your reservation one time up to one week in advance for an extra $5. Reserve family campsites, shelters and picnic areas up to a year in advance at dupageforest.org or through Visitor Services. Book same-day family campsites (if available) between 1 and 7 p.m. in person at the campground office. Reserve youth-group campsites directly through Visitor Services at least seven business days in advance. Special Event Permits Apply directly at 630-933-7247 at least one month in advance.
