WAYNE BROWN
WELL, A BIG WELCOME BACK TO PARK DRIVE, WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME YOU ALL BACK. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO EXTEND A WARM WELCOME TO JACK AND HIS BOGNOR REGIS TEAM, SUPPORTERS AND ALSO THE MATCH OFFICIALS FOR TONIGHT. I ALSO HOPE EVERYBODY HAS A SAFE JOURNEY HOME AFTER THE MATCH. Safe to say, that another enforced lockdown has been tough on everybody, however I hope everyone and their families are in good health. For us, it has been a frustrating time, having got in to such a good rhythm, to have to stop playing was tough. We have been limited to how much we can train, however the boys have kept themselves in great shape and everyone had a programme to follow during lockdown. As a result, I thought our fitness levels on Wednesday night against Enfield were superior and in the end, won us the game. We have played a number of teams already this season from higher in the pyramid and we didn’t go to Enfield in fear. We knew they would be a tough and direct opponent as they have some tremendous players within their squad. Enfield caused us problems and to be fair they probably should have been ahead at the break. We were patient with the ball, however probably lacked a little bit of quality in the final third. We made it difficult for ourselves with the goals we conceded and it could have been three nil if it had not of been for the brilliant save Ben McNamara made to deny their forward. From that save, we counter attacked to score and I think it made it difficult for Enfield, they went from a position of almost leading by three goals, to just one. It was a huge moment in the game. On to the shoot-out and thankfully, it is our second successive win in shootouts this season. Again, like we did against Grays, we produced some expert penalties and I was delighted for young Sam Cornish who stepped up to take the winning penalty with Enfield fans behind the goal trying their best to put him off. Wednesday night was difficult for the entire team, but I am sure the lads will be better for the experience. I can see now, why divisions have been paused and games have been postponed as
throughout the shoot-out, there must have been at least 200 supporters behind the goal, not socially distanced. The lack of fan management behind the goal was really concerning. I am all for Covid rules to protect us, however I think should both sides should have to follow the restrictions. Due to the size of dressing rooms, we were only able to have six people in the dressing room at one time, compared to Enfield who all went in together. At half-time, we had to remain outside in the freezing cold only to be made worse by Enfield delaying the start of the second half by coming out late. I was extremely proud of the boys and how they conducted themselves. The win against Enfield ensures we are able to remain playing competitive matches and I am sure it will give us a slight advantage over those teams in our divisions who are currently restricted to friendlies. It is also a good experience to continually test ourselves against opposition from higher in the non-league pyramid. I’m sure Bognor will be another tough test for the team, however we need to focus on our game and keep believing. Of course, we are pleased to welcome supporters back for this fixture, the boys really appreciate your support and I know the lads missed you against Morecambe, it was heartbreaking for us not to have you with us in the First round of the Emirates FA Cup. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a happy, hopefully more positive New Year. Please, enjoy the game, keep up your fantastic support but most importantly, please ensure you adhere to the Covid restrictions. Enjoy the game, Wayne

SUNDAY 8TH NOVEMBER | EMIRATES FA CUP FIRST ROUND
BEN McNAMARA PUT IN A MAN OF THE MATCH DISPLAY BETWEEN THE STICKS For the second successive season, Maldon & Tiptree bowed out of the Emirates FA Cup at home against a side from League Two. Manager Wayne Brown made several changes from last time in the FA Trophy with Makohsini Kanye and Billy Cracknell returning to the starting eleven. In front of the television cameras again, the Jammers were hopeful of producing a cup-upset like they did last year over Leyton Orient.

MALDON & TIPTREE vs BOGNOR REGIS TOWN
In what was a scrappy opening fifteen minutes to the game, both sides struggled to maintain possession. However, with just over five minutes on the clock the home side created what turned out to be their best chance of the tie. A defence-splitting pass from Sam Coombes released Shomari Barnwell in on goal with only the Goalkeeper to beat, however his effort was saved by visiting shotstopper, Jake Turner.
As the visitors grew in to the game, they began to create chances as a result of slick forward play. However, they came up against Ben McNamara who was again in fine form for his side, just like was in last years upset over Orient. Sloppy passing at the back gifted Morecambe another chance, but McNamara was on hand as he made several saves within the space of ten minutes. McNamara was called in to action again, this time to deny Adam Phillips as the Australian saved with his legs. With half-time approaching, Maldon created their second chance of the afternoon. The tenacious work of Aaron Williams-Bushell resulted in him stealing the ball of defender, Ryan Cooney. Williams-Bushell found Barnwell just outside of the six-yard box, however the visiting defence were on hand in quick time to block Barnwell’s effort. With forty-three minutes on the clock, the visitors were awarded a penalty. Some fast passing resulted in the Maldon defence losing their shape, as Carlos Mendes Gomes found himself one-on-one with the Goalkeeper, McNamara. As McNamara rushed out, he brought down Gomes who looked destined to go around him and tap the ball home. McNamara received a yellow card for his challenge and Phillips stepped up to take the penalty, dispatching his spot-kick in to the bottom corner with real composure to give his side the lead on the stroke of the break. Facing up against a solid defence, it’s fair to say that the Jammers were finding goalscoring opportunities difficult to come by. Much like the first half, Maldon had McNamara to thank for keeping them in the game, as he made a string of saves to keep the deficit to just one goal. As Hamza Kaid broke down the right hand side, he had the first opportunity to create a goal scoring opportunity however he lost his footing and gifted the visitors a goal-kick. As the home side struggled to keep the ball, Morecambe were using their experience to pick up free-kicks on a regular basis to break the game up. With Wayne Brown’s side lacking in composure, the visitors continued to create chances however impressive defending from the home defence and smart shot-saving from McNamara ensured the scoreline remained the same. A tweak in formation appeared to make a positive change for the Jammers, as Scott Kemp joined Barnwell in what was now a front two in attack. Kemp made an immediate impact, as he runs in behind earned
ADAM VYSE HAD MALDON’S BEST CHANCE OF THE SECOND HALF his side a string of corners, however Maldon were unable to capitalise. Manager, Brown freshened things up with the introduction of Andre Hasanally, closely followed by Adam Vyse as the Jammers tried to force themselves back in to the game. Hasanally had his first effort since being introduced to the contest, but that went wide. Barnwell was the next to go close for Maldon, however he headed wide following a smart cross from Khanye. With less than ten minutes on the clock, substitute Vyse had probably Maldon’s best chance of the second half. As Barnwell won the first header, Vyse who was having his shirt pulled off his back latched on to the loose ball, but snatched at the effort as his left footed effort went just wide of the Morecambe goal. In what was to be the last move of the game, Maldon were awarded a free-kick in a dangerous position, however the delivery from Sam Coombes was dealt with by the Shrimps defence, as they cleared the ball away to secure their place in the Second Round of the competition. Wayne Brown’s side exit the competition, however can be proud of their efforts in what has been another impressive Emirates FA Cup run, to reach the First Round for second consecutive season, to be beaten by a professional team by a single goal is a tremendous effort.

BROWN BREAKS MANAGERIAL RECORD TONIGHT’S CONTEST AGAINST BOGNOR REGIS TOWN WILL RESULT IN WAYNE BROWN BREAKING THE RECORD FOR THE NUMBER OF GAMES IN CHARGE AS MANAGER OF MALDON & TIPTREE FOOTBALL CLUB. LAST WEDNESDAY, ‘BROWNY’ EQUALLED THE CURRENT RECORD OF 114 GAMES, SET BY TERRY SPILLANE IN SEPTEMBER 2014. MALDON & TIPTREE vs BOGNOR REGIS TOWN
From his 114 games before tonight, Wayne has recorded an impressive eighty-three wins, leaving an overall win percentage of seventy-three percent, creating a host of memories in the process. The memories include, two record breaking runs in the FA Cup, last season’s win away against League two opposition in Leyton Orient, reaching the play-off final in his first season in charge and then leading the Jammers to the top of the table last season, before Covid-19 denied the club the league title. Tonight’s game against Bognor will be Wayne’s 115th game in charge of Maldon & Tiptree Football Club. Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Wayne on his achievement and we look forward to many more games with him at the helm, starting tonight against Bognor.

NEWS FEATURE:
ROGER STEPS DOWN WE ARE SAD AS A FOOTBALL CLUB TO ANNOUNCE THAT CLUB SECRETARY ROGER STAPLETON HAS STEPPED DOWN FROM HIS POSITION WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. Roger has donated countless hours over a number of seasons, whether it has been to arrange the arrival of the national television, to meet players so they complete their registration forms, to preparing the pitch, to dealing with the recent Covid-19 pandemic and much, much more. Having been the heart-beat of the football club for a long time, Roger will be sorely missed by everyone at the club. However we look forward to seeing Roger on the terraces, being able to watch a game in peace, without having to turn up extremely early to make sure everything was ready. Following his departure, we spoke with Roger about some of his best and worst moments, whilst Club Secretary.
“IT HAS TO BE OUR DAY OUT AT LEYTON ORIENT LAST SEASON. SEEING SO MANY SMILING, MALDON & TIPTREE HAPPY SUPPORTERS WILL LIVE LONG IN MY MEMORY” 10
MALDON & TIPTREE vs BOGNOR REGIS TOWN
Roger, what has been your best game whilst being Club Secretary? Although I have plenty of games to pick from, it has to be our day out at Leyton Orient last season. Seeing so many smiling, Maldon & Tiptree happy supporters will live long in my memory. What has been your most memorable moment? It was a busy time, but it has to be witnessing a sell-out crowd at Park Drive for the first time in our history, as we welcomed Newport and the national television cameras in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup. You have signed the forms of lots of players whilst Secretary of the football club, who has been your favourite? You’re right, there have been a lot of players during my time, so it is hard to pick one. However, I will go with Sammie McLeod – he is a really nice lad on and off the pitch, I am so pleased to see him progressing at Colchester having recovered from his injury. There have certainly been some dark days over the last few years, what has been your worst moment as Club Secretary? That’s easy for me. Checking the FA website last season, to establish it had been updated resulting in us fielding a suspended player was hard to take. It resulted in the club being fined and us being deducted three points. And finally, what will you miss the most about not being Secretary? Receiving so many emails, of course!

Bognor Regis Town Football Club was founded in 1883 and their early years were spent playing friendly matches until they joined the West Sussex league in 1896. They enjoyed moderate success at this level, which included winning the league five years in succession in the early twenties. As a result they joined the Brighton and Hove District League in 1926, however, their stay was short as the following season they applied to join the Sussex County League where they remained until 1972. The club enjoyed mixed fortunes in this league, winning the Division One Championship in the 1948/49 season and finishing runners-up in 1938/39. In 1951/52 the club finished runners up in the County League and reached the Sussex Senior Cup final for the first time, losing to Worthing. In 1954/55 the club won the Sussex Senior Cup for the first time, beating Horsham. They retained the cup the following season when beating Eastbourne United. Relegation to Division Two in 1969 was to
MALDON & TIPTREE vs BOGNOR REGIS TOWN
start a new era for the club. The Rocks, as they are also known, bounced back at the first attempt, winning Division Two, followed the next season by winning the Division One championship title, which was rewarded with a step up to the Southern Football League. In 1972, Bognor reached the first round of the FA Cup for the first time, losing away to Colchester United. In 1970, a 21-year-old full back called Jack Pearce had arrived in time for the 1970-71 season. In 1976, he was to take on the managers’ job, at the age of just 26. Bognor were bottom of the Southern League and were struggling to survive financially and had lost all their best players but Jack Pearce managed to turn things round and as a result the job was his. This began a long period of success for the club. In 1980 the club won the Sussex Senior Cup, beating Ringmer. The following year they finished Southern League Southern Division runners-up, reached the final of the Southern League Cup, where they
lost to Bedford Town, and retained the Sussex Senior Cup, beating Peacehaven &Telscombe. They also won the Southern League Merit Cup for most goals scored in the season. The club switched to the Isthmian League for the following season, to reduce travelling time and costs, even though it meant having to drop a level. They won promotion from Division One at the first attempt as runners-up, whilst retaining the Sussex Senior Cup by beating Lewes. Success in the Sussex Senior Cup continued as the club set a competition record by retaining it for five years with wins in the final against Littlehampton and Lewes in the following two seasons. The highlight of Pearce’s management career was on 21st November 1984 when Bognor Regis Town beat a Swansea City side including Dean Saunders and seven Welsh internationals in a first round FA Cup replay. Swansea had been in Division One just two years before. In the first tie at the Vetch Field the Rocks were unlucky to be held 1-1 but in the replay at Nyewood Lane they won 3-1 in front of a record crowd of 3,642. Only Jimmy Rimmer in the Swans goal saved the Welsh side from a thrashing as Bognor tore their visitors to pieces. The cup run came to an end at Reading in the second round. The season ended with a Sussex Senior Cup final defeat to Lewes. Bognor repeated the feat of reaching the FA Cup second round the following year, losing at Gillingham. In 1986/87 the club achieved its highest placing in the Premier Division, finishing fifth, won the Sussex Senior Cup, beating Arundel, whilst also winning the AC Delco Cup, beating Hendon 3-2 at Windsor. This was the first cup success for a Sussex club outside of its own county. Further FA Cup success was achieved in 1988 when Division Four outfit Exeter City were beaten 2-1 at Nyewood Lane in the first
round, before losing 1-0 at home to Cambridge United in the second round. In 1991/92 the club finished 21st, but avoided relegation as Dagenham merged with Redbridge Forest and no Conference side was relegated to the Isthmian League. Jack Pearce stood down as manager, with Mick Pullen becoming player/manager. The reprieve lasted one season, as the club failed to win a league game until 28th December, and finished bottom. Bognor reached the Sussex Senior Cup final in 1994/95, before losing to Brighton at The Goldstone Ground. Jack Pearce resumed the management role in 1995, coinciding with Bognor reaching the second round of the FA Cup again, where they lost 4-0 at Peterborough United, whilst also reaching the last 16 of the FA Trophy, where they lost 3-1 at home to Radcliffe Borough. Another Sussex Senior Cup final was reached in 2000/01, ending in defeat to Lewes at Eastbourne. After several near misses, Bognor finally gained promotion back to the Isthmian League Premier Division in 2002/03, when finishing runners-up to Carshalton. The following season, a tenth place finish was enough to claim a place in the newly-formed Conference South. They remained in this league for five seasons, with the ninth place finish in 2004/05 being the highest they achieved. In October 2007, Michael Birmingham stepped up from being Jack Pearce’s assistant manager to become player/ manager. After saving the club from relegation he stood down at the end of the season, to be replaced by Mick Jenkins, with Andy Awford as his assistant, at the beginning of a turbulent period for the club. Finances were already stretched when an arson attack destroyed the clubhouse in the opening week of the season, severely reducing the funds available. Jenkins and
Awford resigned after a defeat on 3rd January, having overseen just two league wins. Darin Killpartrick took over as caretaker manager. Within days the club were deducted 7 points for fielding an unregistered player. Despite an improvement in the results, Bognor were relegated on 4th April 2009 with defeat at Welling. In all, 61 different players either played or were named as substitute during the season. In June 2009 Killpartrick was confirmed as manager, with former player Jamie Howell named as his assistant, although they soon became joint managers. Another difficult season followed, with 1 win in the first 12 league games, leaving the club entrenched in the relegation places. A run of four straight away defeats in 11 days, ending away to Maidstone United on 22nd April saw the club relegated for the second year in a row. The club did reach the final of the Sussex Senior Cup, where they lost 4-0 to Brighton at Eastbourne. Jamie Howell now took on the management role, with Killpartrick becoming coach. Season 2010/11 saw a significant change in fortune, and the club challenged strongly for promotion from the Ryman League Division One South. However, they missed out on the automatic promotion place when they could only draw away to already relegated Chatham on the final day of the season, thus allowing Metropolitan Police to draw level on 96 points, but having a goal difference of +61 to Bognor’s +60. To compound the disappointment, Bognor lost 3-1 at home to Dulwich Hamlet in the playoff semi final. Dulwich had finished 31 points behind them. Following such a dramatic finish to the season, some doubted whether the Rocks could bounce back, but the following season they remained unbeaten at home in the league as they finished second again, this time

missing out to Whitehawk by two points. After beating Godalming at home on penalties in an epic play-off semi final which finished 4-4, they overcame Dulwich Hamlet 1-0 in the final thanks to a headed goal from Stuart Axten and a penalty save from Craig Stoner in front of over 2000 spectators, to return to the Isthmian League Premier Division. The following season, 2012/13, began well and the club were still flirting with the play-offs at the end of January. However a run of serious injuries to key players took its toll, and the club eventually finished fourteenth. The Sussex Senior Cup final was reached again, which brought a first visit to Brighton’s Amex Stadium, but a strong Brighton side won 4-0. Season 2013/14 began with 1 point won from the first 4 games however, from that point, Bognor embarked on a marvellous run in the league to finish third. Despite opening the scoring in the play-off semi final, Lowestoft struck in each half to win 2-1 at Nyewood Lane. The season finished with another Sussex Senior Cup final at The Amex, but again this ended in defeat, this time to Peacehaven and Telscombe. Season 2014/15 saw another slow start, with only 3 points from the first 21. A good run took Bognor to the fringes of the play offs at the end of February but, once again, a long injury list hampered attempts to sustain the challenge and the club finished fourteenth. Season 2015/16 was arguably the clubs most successful season. Second place in the league, missing out on the championship by just one point, followed by a play-off semi final defeat at home against Dulwich Hamlet were accompanied by an appearance in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2004, with victories over National League North side Lowestoft and National League South side
JAMIE HOWELL Oxford City. But the highlight of the season was the wonderful ten match run to the semi finals of the FA Trophy, with dramatic victories at home against National League sides Altrincham and Torquay United, whilst also beating Bath City, Maidstone United and Sutton United from National League South, culminating in a two legged semi final against Grimsby Town. The quest to reach Wembley unfortunately ended in a 3-1 aggregate defeat. Despite losing several key players at the end of the season to higher placed clubs, Bognor found themselves on top of the Ryman Premier Division by early November 2016. Despite a run which saw only 2 league defeats in 24 matches, Bognor were pipped to the championship by Havant & Waterlooville, when they failed to win either of the last two league fixtures. However, they managed to beat both Wingate & Finchley and Dulwich Hamlet 2-1 at home in the play offs to return to National League South after 8 seasons. An impressive crowd of almost 3,500
saw the final and in fact over 9,500 spectators watched The Rocks’ last four matches of the season. Shortly after the end of the season it was announced that Jamie Howell had resigned as manager to move to Eastbourne Borough. Jack Pearce again took over as manager for the 2017-18 season, but after a good start the team suffered a bad run of injuries to key players. Relegation back to the Isthmian League followed. Season 2018-19 was a somewhat disappointing season in the league after an excellent start but again the side was ravaged by injuries resulting in a midway finish on the final day of the season. However, the club won the Sussex Senior cup beating Burgess Hill Town at the Amex stadium. Season 2019-2020 of course fell to the Covid 19 which decimated football. During the summer the main Stand has had a complete rebuild with new floodlights upgrade and a new tannoy system put in place.

MALDON & TIPTREE
CLUB HISTORY In 2009, Ed Garty took over the ownership of Maldon Town from Michael Kirkham, whilst still in charge of running Tiptree United and installed Alan Brockhouse as Maldon Town’s new chairman. Following the takeover, Colin Wallington returned for a second spell in charge of Maldon Town, leaving his post as Tiptree United manager immediately. Colin previously managed Maldon Town from 2003 until 2007, having achieved promotion in the 2005-06 via the play-off final. Having left Maldon in 2007, Colin went on to manage Tiptree United where he achieved promotion winning the Eastern Counties Division One title in the 2007/08 season. Until the conclusion of the 2009/10 season both Maldon Town & Tiptree United played their home games at Park Drive, under a ground share arrangement.
18
MALDON & TIPTREE vs BOGNOR REGIS TOWN
In the summer of 2010, Maldon Town & Tiptree United amalgamated to form, Maldon & Tiptree Football Club, under the ownership of Ed Garty. As a result of the amalgamation, Tiptree United withdrew from the Essex Senior League, resulting in the clubs last ever fixture being a 3-1 defeat against Enfield 1893 on 24 April 2010. Maldon & Tiptree took the place of Maldon Town in the Isthmian Division One North. Following the retirement of Colin Wallington, Assistant Manager, Brad King and Glen Knight were appointed as the clubs Joint-Manager. As the pair’s first managerial role, the new club witnessed wholesale changes with only a handful of players remaining who finished the season with Maldon Town and Tiptree United, respectively. The 2010-11 campaign saw the
new club remain in or around the play-off positions for the majority of the season, finishing in eighth place to finish the season with sixty-three points. Despite the high turnover of players, the good standard of football was maintained and it was in the end, a disappointing end to the season, for the club to fall away in the later stages of the season when suspensions and injuries eventually took their toll to leave the club frustratingly short of the play-off positions at the end of April. The 2011-12 season, proved to not be so successful and in November 2011, King and Knight were relieved of their duties with immediate effect. Ex-Charlton professional Mike Flanagan was appointed as Caretaker Manager and remained in place until the end of the season, steering the club to a respectful mid-table finish, managing thirtythree games and finishing with a win percentage of 49.12%.
At the start of the 2012-13 campaign, Ex-Stansted & Redbridge boss Terry Spillane was appointed as Manager, and Mike Flanagan departed the club. The change of management, once again brought wholesale changes with the playing squad. Ex Tiptree United manager, Jody was brought to the club as Terry’s Assistant Manager. After a fantastic and unbeaten start to the season, the club found themselves at the top of the table but an incredible run by eventual Champions Grays Athletic meant Maldon had to settle for a place in the play-offs – Terry’s side remained unbeaten until Boxing Day, when they lost away from home against local rivals Heybridge Swifts. Disappointment came in the play-off final however when they lost a two goal lead to draw with Thamesmead Town, who thenwent on to win the final,on penalties. After a disappointing end to the previous season, Terry Spillane oversaw more wholesale changes in the playing squad, including the departure of Assistant Manager, Jody Brown. Despite the changes, Maldon finished in ninth position with seventysix points, winning twenty-one games.
Mudmen and The Jammers available. The vote took place in January 2015 and was featured on National Radio station, TalkSport, with the The Jammers winning the vote with over 50% and being confirmed as the clubs new nickname. Following the completion of the 2014-15 season, the club linked with Colchester United and the two clubs formed close ties, which resulted in ex Ipswich Town midfielder, David Wright being appointed as First Team Manager. Wright remained in charge until December 2015 as he was appointed Assistant Manager of Colchester United. Liam Bailey took charge of the First Team on a temporary basis, only managing one game, which finished four-all against Tilbury on Boxing Day in 2015. Moving into 2016, ex-Leiston Manager, Steve Ball was appointed First Team Manager and steered the club to a respectable finish in the league table climbing to seventh place, only missing out on the playoff places by nine points.
More changes to the playing staff, resulted in poor start to the 201415 season, and the club parted ways with Spillane in September 2014, with Chairman, Ed Garty takeover as Caretaker Manager, for three games. At the end of September 2014, Alan Kimble was appointed as manager and remained in charge for the remainder of the season, however the side struggled and more changes in the playing staff occurred. Maldon finished the season in nineteenth place with only forty-nine points.
In the closed season, a change of Management at Colchester United saw Steve Ball appointed as their Assistant Manager, leaving his position of Maldon & Tiptree Manager as a result. Ex-Manchester City midfielder, Kevin Horlock was then appointed as First Team manager ahead of the 2016-17 campaign and for the majority of the season, the Jammers sat at the top of the table before slipping away to finish in second place. Horlock’s side managed to reach the play-off final, however lost to Thurrock one-nil. The following campaign was not quite as successful for Horlock, with Maldon finishing just outside the play-off places in seventh place, with sixty-nine points.
During the 2014-15 season, Media Officer at the time, Richard Buckby ran a competition for supporters to vote for a club nickname, with the options The River Boys, The Marshmen, The
After managing 112 games, Kevin Horlock departed in the closed season and was replaced by ex-Colchester defender, Wayne Brown. In Brown’s first season in
charge, the 2018-19 season, the Jammers finished in second place and reached the play-off final, but lost on penalties against local rivals, Heybridge Swifts. The 2019-20 season was one to remember for the club, but for the right and wrong reasons. The club achieved great things in the Emirates FA Cup. Having reached the First Round proper of the competition, Maldon beat League Two side, Leyton Orient away from home, taking over 600 fans to the home of The O’s, with the goals coming from Danny Parish and a superb solo goal from Jorome Slew. In the second round proper, Maldon were drawn against Football League side, Newport County with the game being shown live on National Television– with the Jammers only beaten by the League Two side, with a goal in stoppage time, with the game finishing 1-0. A record attendance of 1876 was recorded. However, the 2019-20 season will also be remembered for the wrong reasons. After impressive performances on the field, the Jammers found themselves top of the Isthmian Division One North, thirteen points clear with four games in hand, when disaster struck. With a global pandemic declared, as a result of Coronavirus, the league competition was formally abandoned on 26 March 2020, with all results from the season being expunged, and no promotion or relegation taking place to, from, or within the division. The club were denied a chance of promotion and forced to remain in the Division One North for the 2020-21 season. Following the disappointing end to the 2020-21 season, Wayne Brown remained in charge of the club and wholesale changes in the playing squad occurred again, with a number of last season’s squad securing transfers to clubs higher up the football pyramid.
