2
1 Productivity
Reason
Primers matched to basecoats:
DuPontTM Cromax® gives productivity advantages across the entire painting process. The performance of DuPontTM Cromax® is fully equivalent to solvent-based paints. Combined with other DuPont Refinish product systems, productivity can be enhanced even more.
Use straight from the mixing machine: Cromax® is ready to spray... direct from the mixing machine, saving you time.
ValueShade® primers are available in a range of grey reflective values that match the lightness values of Cromax® basecoats. This helps to achieve correct colours and reduces the number of coats required, decreasing both production time and material consumption.
Quickly matched colours: Using the advanced colour matching systems, accurate colour selection is made in an instant.
Less drying time:
Excellent coverage, hiding, and lower consumption:
Time-consuming flash-off times are eliminated because you can spray wet-on-wet. Drying can be accelerated, using forced air.
Cromax® has excellent hiding properties. This means fewer passes (usually 11/2 to 2 wet-on-wet) which saves on labour costs. Better hiding also reduces consumption.

!
Use clean spray guns. Clean your gun immediately after you finish the application of the basecoat. While this is drying, prepare your clearcoat, and finish the repair (a continuous process). Apply the basecoat in the specified temperature window (minimum 18°C). Use ventures to accelerate drying, possibly combined with an increased temperature (except when the RH is very low).

2 Ease of application
Reason
DuPontTM Cromax® is ready to use… straight from the mixing machine.
Easy preparation: Working with Cromax® is very easy, and paint preparation is simple. Just mix the tints and the paint is ready to apply.
User friendly: All who use Cromax® for the first time agree: Cromax® is a pleasure to work with. And this ease of application delivers the streamlined procedures that you need to ensure that you remain competitive and profitable in today’s dynamic market.
!
Check the relative humidity before you start your application. Eventually bring both the temperature and the relative humidity within the optimum range. Ensure that you work in optimal conditions (substrate preparation, air quality, spray booth conditions). Apply the basecoat wet-on-wet, and use the right application techniques (i.e. mistcoat for metallic). For environmental conditions outside the optimum window, add WB400 to widen the window.
Excellent basecoats:

Adding WB400 significantly expands the window of optimal productivity in work environments that have extremes of temperature and/or humidity.

Environmental legislation conformance Cromax® was developed to satisfy current and forthcoming European emissions legislation. By using less solvents, it reduces waste, as well as the smell of solvents in the air. All Cromax® products have been developed with exceptional care to reduce waste. The basic carrier for all Cromax® components is water. This results in the lowest possible VOC for current basecoat technologies. In fact, all Cromax® colours have a VOC of less than 420 g/l RFU. The average VOC of all 20,000 Cromax® colours is approx 250 g/l.
