You will need: 1. Nail file 2. Cuticle stick (to push back cuticles) 3. Cuticle cutter 4. Hand cream 5. Top and base coast nail polish 6. Nail polish (colour of your choice) Step 1: Soak hands in warm, soapy water for 15 minutes. Step 2: Dry your fingers and place a bit of hand cream on the cuticle of each finger. Rub in gently. Step 3: Using the cuticle stick, gently push each nail’s cuticle back to the skin barrier. The cuticle will create a ridge and have a few loose skins. Using the cuticle cutter, gently run the blade along the cuticle and remove the excess skin. Be careful not to cut yourself.

U TIPS

Step 4 : Shape your nails by filing in one direction. It is best to use a non-metal file so it doesn’t damage and split your nails. The best shape for short nails is round, or square with rounded edges- they’re strong shapes and will prevent your nails from catching on clothing and breaking. Step 5 : Your hands will love an exfoliation, as you will be removing all the dead skin. A quick homemade method is to place a tablespoon of sugar in your cupped hand, pour some lemon juice onto the sugar, and rub your hands together. Be sure to get the sugar in between the fingers, all over the top of your hands and halfway up your arms. Rub for a few minutes and then rinse. Apply moisturiser.

Manicures made easy Getting your nails done doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Follow our cool tips to get your hands salon perfect.

Step 6 When your hands are perfectly dry, apply a base coat to your nails. This will prevent your fingernails from turning yellow and make the application of colour a lot smoother. Let it dry, and then apply your colour of choice- you may apply a second coat if required. Finish off with a layer of top coat to protect your colour. Wear an accessory like a big ring or nice bracelet to add that little sparkle!

HOME DECOR &

Gardening

e've put together some gorgeous fall-inspired tips with slashes of red, yellow, brown, and blue and orange, perfect for giving your home the seasonal refresh it needs

Decorative Box with Dried Hydrangeas I know the struggles of keeping indoor plants alive. So dried hydrangeas look just as lovely as live ones - plus, they won’t need sunlight you can put them anywhere.

Indoor Herb Garden This is my personal favourite. You do your cooking indoor, so it makes sense that you’d want your herbs there as you cook up a storm. Plant them in Mason Jars and keep them together in an old tool Brown Rooms box or pallet box. Side tip, handles make them easy If you don't want to make to move them in and out of sunlight a major change for the fall, like painting the walls or completely redecorating, try adding just a few earth-tone pieces that vary in shade and pattern. Like a few cushions of the same colour in different shades and patterns and a throw over Fall is the time to spend your days connecting with nature, as the winter months approach and you begin to spend more time indoors. So I suggest bringing as much of the outdoors inside, from adding furniture made of natural materials to earth inspired colour schemes Style your plain walls with bookshelves with seasonal colour like rich gold, bronze, chestnut, rose wood colours. The built in bookshelf is a colour block that is beautiful and an adorned object to add to any empty place Indoor Gardening This fall think window boxes. Yes, indoor window boxes. Sure, indoor gardens are nothing new, but we love the creative trends and what better way to usher in autumn than with a rustic feel more connected with nature interior pieces. Windowsill Succulent Garden A flower box made out of shipping pallets is a seriously adorable indoor succulent garden.

Head Injury Although a head injury sometimes leaves no visible wound, there may be obvious bruising or bleeding at the site. The victim may have a headache, dizziness or nausea. The aims of first-aid treatment are to control bleeding, dress the wound, and seek medical help.

Treating a Head Injury Treat visible wounds If there’s a scalp wound, replace any skin flaps Press a clean pad firmly over the wound to control the blood flow. Maintain the pressure for at least 10 minutes until the blood flow has been controlled. Secure a bandage around the victims head to hold the pad in position. Assess victim Check that the victim is fully conscious by asking simple, direct questions in a clear voice. If they answer your questions lay them down in a comfortable position, and then arrange for transport to the hospital. Monitor victim Monitor the victims breathing by checking their pulse and level of consciousness every 10 minutes until help arrives. Use disposable gloves and/ or wash your

feel angry, disappointed, bored, betrayed or stressed out about your marriage. That's a cop-out. Trying to improve your spouse puts him or her on the defensive and casts you in a dreary role. Nobody changes. Nobody takes responsibility. Everyone is unhappy. And making your spouse the bad guy means ignoring the 90 percent of him or her that's good.

No matter how far along the marriage highway you've gone, there are some simple, fundamental rules of the road. Putting them into practice isn't always easy, but it's critical. If you do play by the rules, you'll make your marriage stronger, and the good stuff—fun, trust, affection—will be better than ever.

7 Days inn Entebbe Release Date: Friday March 16 Director – Jose Padilha

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.

A thriller inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, the film depicts the most daring rescue mission ever attempted. They hold the passengers and crew hostage at Entebbe and demanded a ransom of $5 million USD for the airplane and the release of 53 Palestinian and Pro-Palestinian militants, 40 of whom were prisoners in Israel. When all diplomatic efforts fail, the Israeli government approves a counter-terrorist hostage rescue operation by IDF commandos in what has been referred to as the most daring and audacious rescue mission in history.

The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising. John Boyega stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.” Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi)—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. LAUNCHES

VIDEO

his 24-year-old artist, Darrien Luke Samuel who resides in Kharwarstan recently launched his music video I want to know , has been trending on social media.

What motivates you to keep inspiring others through your passion and creativity? My goal being a singer has always been to inspire others through the form that is music. When they listen to my music i want them to be happy and hopeful that if they put their minds to it they can achieve their dreams and aspirations. Guidelines for aspiring singers One should firstly have a natural ear for music or alternatively train themselves to develop an ear. Tone of voice is also important and well as good breathing techniques. What is most rewarding about your passion? The best reward is when people come to me and tell me that I make them proud and inspire them. That for me drives me to keep going even when I feel like giving up. What were your greatest failure or downfall and your greatest accomplishment? My greatest downfall doubted myself. In this industry you need to stay positive and motivated at all time else you will end up not achieving your dreams and aspirations. My greatest accomplishment would be appearing on all 3 SABC stations and singing live on air.
