We were given the opportunity to try out the Next-Gen Ford Ranger Wildtrak at its regional launch in Jeddah. This pick-up truck proved to be more than just a rugged and reliable off-roader. It also offers cutting-edge technology and modern design, making it an ideal partner for work, family, and play.

One of the most impressive features of the Next-Gen Wildtrak is its powerful 2.3-litre V6 EcoBoost engine, which can produce up to 298HP at 5,900rpm and 452Nm of torque at 3,350rpm. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that allows for smooth and effortless shifting, making it easy to explore even the toughest terrains.

The Wildtrak also boasts a widened stance, which contributes to its exceptional off-road performance. It can switch between drive modes to optimize its performance for different surfaces, including sand, gravel, and dirt. Additionally, the Wildtrak can tow up to 3.5 tonnes, making it an ideal vehicle for carrying trailers or dirt bike carriages to the most remote parts of the region.

To ensure that the Wildtrak can handle the harsh Middle East climate, it underwent around 10,000km of desert driving in temperatures reaching up to 50 degrees centigrade. This testing proved that this pick-up is built Ford Tough and can withstand the most extreme conditions thrown at it.

The Next-Gen Ranger Wildtrak’s unique mesh grille and signature C-clamp LED daytime running lights give the vehicle a truly distinctive look, on the road and off. It also features 18-inch grey alloy wheels and a new RANGER-stamped tailgate that complete the Wildtrak’s athletic appearance. Inside, the Wildtrak offers a comfortable and stylish cabin with ebony seats that contrast with the signature Cyber Orange Wildtrak logo. The seats are 8-way adjustable power seats, ensuring that you can find the perfect driving position, even on bumpy rides. The center-stack features a 12-inch touchscreen that gives drivers easy access to the vehicle’s functions, while an 8-inch cluster productivity screen offers an overview of the Wildtrak’s essential stats without distracting from the road. ford.com

The Next-Gen Wildtrak also comes equipped with advanced driver-assist features, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, which makes driving this pick-up a breeze. When traffic slows down, so does the vehicle, and once it picks up again, the Wildtrak will return to the set cruise speed. It also features SYNC 4® Enhanced Voice Recognition as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility.

Overall, the Next-Gen Ford Ranger Wildtrak proved to be a capable and versatile pick-up truck that can handle the toughest off-road Middle East conditions while also offering cutting-edge technology and modern design. It is an excellent choice for those who want a vehicle that can keep up with their active lifestyle, whether it’s for work or play.
