CHAIR

with Andrew Brown

This chair was inspired by images of reclining female figures sculpted by Henri Moore. The two pieces of curved wood are built up with formed aircraft plywood. The base has a veneer of white oak and the seat of cherry. The pieces are held together with counter-sunk machine screws to conceal the joint and create a reveal between the base and the seat.

3

PROTEUS

UWSA Design Excellence Award 3B Studio Project - Fall 2011 Coordinator - Dereck Revington

This project captures the affect of a video image - molten minerals amidst lava flow - in a series of formal and material experimentations. The project is developed into a bacchanalia theatre spa under the belly of the metropolis.

4

HOUSE

with Sustainable.to Architecture Inc.

This house is located near Dundas W in Toronto. It is built on an existing foundation and cantilevered over the root structure of a 100 year old red oak tree. The cantilever creates a covered patio to the east along the length of the ground floor.

5

CONDO

with CS&P Architects Inc.

This project is located north of Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto. It was developed with Tridel as a residential building amidst a linear park weaving through a city block. The 5 story podium reflects the low townhouses to the east and west of the site. On top of the podium is a 27 storey tower.
