Durable finish

COVER STRIPS Public premises are most often provided with glue or screw-mounted cover strips. The cover strips separate different materials and put the finishing touches to expansion joints. Standard strips with a width of 30â&#x20AC;&#x201C;120 mm are directly available from stock.

STAINLESS STEEL COVER STRIPS FOR PUBLIC PREMISES Material: made of ground stainless steel suitable for public premises. Material thickness 1.5 mm. Fastening: screw or glue mounting. We recommend fastening the glue-mounted strips with assembly glue. Cutting: strips are shortened with a wheel fit for cutting stainless steel. The wheel is attached to an angle grinder. A small number of profiles can be cut with a hacksaw. Applications: offices, hotels, schools, shopping centres and other public premises where no hard-wheeled pallet jacks are used.

CURVED PROFILES Curved cover strips are used in points where the floor surface material changes to provide the floor with impressive details. Regular curves are bent in accordance with a radius. If the radius is irregular, an accurate model must be prepared and the strip bent in accordance with it. Material: made of ground stainless steel or brass suitable for public premises. Material thickness 1.5 mm. Bending a variety of extruded brass profiles to a curve is also possible. Consult our sales department for more information about the bending of profiles. Fastening: countersunk holes are drilled to the profiles at the installation stage and the profiles are fastened with suitable screws. Cutting: both ends of all profiles have a 10 cm unbent section that is shortened from the most suitable point before fastening the profiles. The profiles are shortened with a hacksaw or a wheel fit for cutting stainless steel. The wheel is attached to an angle grinder. Applications: offices, hotels, schools, shopping centres and objects in other public premises. In addition to standard profiles, we make a number of custom-made profiles, such as bathroom thresholds, inside and outside corner protection profiles with different angles, as well as cover strips and skirtings of different size and design. FABRICATIONS Curvings Special shapes, welded returns and curves can be manufactured for most stair edgings and Stairtile. Stair edgings that can be curved are shown with a below the stair edging. Orders for curving should include a detailed template which is subject to approval by Gradus International.

Welded corners Welded corners are designed to form a neat and attractive edge around the open end of a step by concealing the edge of the floorcovering and stair edging. Welded corners are manufactured from side trims and are supplied in stocked sizes of 355mm x 355mm in 83Ë&#x161; and 90Ë&#x161; angles. Other sizes and angles are also available subject to approval by Gradus. Side trims can be used on their own to finish off floor edges on landings and are supplied in stocked lengths of 2.75m (2.00m for chrome).

Installation: both profile edges must be mounted on the floor with epoxide resin across the width of 100 mm to allow the profile to remain in place in hard use. The profile is efficiently pressed onto epoxide resin and the substance is allowed to harden entirely. The height of the flooring and the casting must be taken into account at the installation stage to enable the profile surface to be mounted flush with the flooring. Then the profile is fastened in place with at least 10 mm stress-resistant bolts at intervals of 300 mm. Applications: expansion joints of the floors in shops, fair centres, warehouses and airports. Withstands heavy use and suitable for challenging objects in public premises.

TILING PROFILES Tiling profiles protect outer tiling corners, keep them cleaner and cover tiling edges. The tiling profiles save time and make tiling work easier. Material: made of stainless steel suitable for public premises. Installation: the profile is pressed on the mounting mortar when outer corner tiles are installed. Cutting: profiles are shortened with a wheel fit for cutting stainless steel. The wheel is attached to an angle grinder. A small number of profiles can be shortened with a hacksaw. Fourmodels with different properties are available and come in several sizes. Basic steel-made wall-mounted inspection doors with white surface painting differ from the options on the market due to their new round edge design. They are best suited to conspicuous locations in which the highest possible requirements are set for the hatch appearance and finish. ACCESS COVERS DionePro access covers are gas and water-proof, precision-machined and easy to coat. The access covers come in many sizes and shapes. They are made of aluminium, or stainless and galvanised steel. Thanks to their patented opening mechanism, the manholes are easy to open. As DionePro access covers are gas and water-proof, they are best suited to inspection doors for well-ventilated base floors, also in radon areas. The access covers are also available as options lined up in rows and used in cable channels of passages, for example. When cast and coated, basic models withstand the weight of the passenger car. Access covers that withstand the weight generated by heavy vehicles are also available. Stainless steel manholes are suitable for hospitals and food production premises as well. The fire-endurance time of the cast and coated basic models is about 60 min. In addition, challenging objects can be provided with fire hatches with a fire-endurance time of 90 min.

ESCAPE HATCH Pisko emergency exit hatch equipped with telescope ladder is intended to be used as a fire escape from balcony to lower balcony. In emergency the lid of hatch is opened. Sealed launching lever is turned 90 degrees at which point the lower hatch opens. Fire wool that is on the top of the lower hatch is to be pushed down. After this telescope ladder is lifted from its holders and let to descend. Now ladder is ready to be used. Fire class:

Fire class EI 60 requires two 30 mm layers of insulation wool on the lower cover. Fire class EI 120 requires two 50 mm layers of insulation wool on the lower cover.

DUURIPro â&#x20AC;&#x201C; ESCAPE HATCH OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Open the cover on the balcony. 2. Cut the seal on the red release lever. 3. Turn release lever 90 degrees to open the lower cover. 4. Push the insulation wool down from under the ladder. 5. Check that there is no-one under the ladder. Lift the ladder from its bracket and lower it down. 6. Now you can safely access the balcony below. Note: Unnecessary cutting of the seal and use of the hatch will cause significant costs which the resident is obligated to pay for.

The structure is galvanised after welding. The access cover is equipped with a fire-protection plate and a fire-resistant special seal. Properties: the fire-resistant, gas and water-proof access cover is manufactured with accurate dimensions. The conical design and the lift key make it easy to open. Thanks to its small corners and accurately dimensioned edge structure, the access cover is almost inconspicuous in the flooring after its installation. The reinforcement inside the access cover improves structural load endurance. Fire-endurance class: the fire endurance time is 90 min after installation and coating. Suitable for objects with high fire safety requirements. The fire protection properties are verified with an official IBS fire-endurance test. The shallow trough results in a weight reduction when filled - so less effort is required to lift the cover. An unrestricted height of 14 mm is available for laying slabs, tiles or parquet flooring etc. Two chemical-resistant special seals. The cover is reinforced with a clamped steel mesh reinforcement. Load endurance: 15 kN (walking-resistant). Material: the frame and cover are made of a 2 mm steel profile. (45 x 45 mm, 50 x 50 cm and 60 x 60 cm, the access cover made of 3 mm steel). The cover can be used by placing the plate surface up or by turning the cover upside down and coating the chute section. The depth of the coatable casing section: 15 mm. The selection includes manhole options painted on order in RAL tones. Properties: equipped with a seal but it is not entirely gas and water-proof. The 30 x 30 cm access cover is provided with mounting screws. The access cover is opened by lifting it with the screws. Other sizes of manholes are opened with a separate lifting handle. Their delivery does not include mounting screws. If the access cover with the lifting handle is coated, the lifting handle must be embedded in the coatingâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s opening on the other side of the access cover. HL STAINLESS STEEL ACCESS COVER Load endurance: 15 kN (walking-resistant). Material: the frame and cover are made of a 2 mm stainless steel profile (45 x 45 mm, 50 x 50 cm and 60 x 60 cm; the access cover cover made of 3 mm stainless steel). The cover can be used by placing the plate surface up or by turning the cover upside down and coating the chute section. The depth of the coatable casing section: 15 mm. Properties: equipped with a seal but it is not entirely gas and waterproof. The 30 x 30 cm manhole is provided with mounting screws. The access cover is opened by lifting it with the screws. Other sizes of access coverS are opened with a separate lifting handle. Their delivery does no include mounting screws. If the access covers equipped with the lifting handle is coated, the lifting handle must be embedded in the coating on the other side of the access covers. Applications: indoor and outdoor access covers when it is necessary to use a plate-surface manhole or an easy-to-coat stainless steel access covers. Installation: the access cover is fitted in the opening and fastened with screws through the foot part holes in the openingâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s vertical edge. Almost gas and waterproof (if subject to continuous water flow, some water may leak out from between the cover and the frame). The reinforcement in the access cover improves structural load endurance.

The patented intermediate spoke detachable without tools allows the access cover to be opened across its whole length. The height of the access cover chute is about 50 mm. The access covercan be equipped with a higher 100 mm chute on order. The chute is filled up with yard paving stones. Applications: challenging objects, such as those in industrial premises and airports. Dimensions: steel and stainless steel row access cover are made to order in accordance with accurate dimensions. We have made row access covers, for instance, for sewers with several tens of access covers in parallel.

The product code is for a running metre (the delivery length varies; extra price for handrails cut to length). The wall bracket is attached to the wall and below the handrail with screws. FLOOR PROFILES FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED STAINLESS STEEL (AISI 304) The visually impaired can feel the floor profiles with their cane and feet. When installed in an unbroken line, they act as guides for finding your way.. When installed crosswise in several rows, they give warnings of stairways, station platform edges or other hazards. Stud-like profiles are installed by drilling a suitable hole in the floor surface and gluing them using Duuri installation adhesive. The rectangular model is installed by gluing it to a clean, dry and grease-free floor surface.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PROFILES How to cut stainless steel profiles? The easiest way is to use a wheel fit for cutting stainless steel. The wheel is attached to an angle grinder. The profiles are cut to mitre by using a suitable cutoff saw/metal blade combination, or a bandsaw fit for cutting stainless steel. Individual profiles are easy to cut and saw to mitre with a hacksaw as well.

INSPECTION AND ACCESS HATCHES

How to ensure waterproofness when mounting a hatch/access cover in place? The stainless steel and steel manholes with seals are water-proof. The base plate of aluminium manholes is welded with spot welding (e.g.BVA). If the manufacturing method requires an absolutely water-proof solutio, the manhole must be cast with water-proof cincrete, or the bottom side of the flooring provided with water-proof insulation. The connection point between the floor and the manhole fame must be made water-tight by using a suitable additive in the concrete when manhole edges are attached to the floor by casting. If in doubt, please consult our sales department for additional information. Is it possible to mount the access cover directly on the floor at the surface casting stage? Pay special attention to potential shrinkage and expansion at the casting’s drying stage. The manhole cover must be in place in the frame during installation. Use flexible wedges (minimum width 10 mm) in the outer edges of the frame, if necessary. Remove the wedges when the surface casting has dried. Seal the grooves after this with a flexible sealing compound.

HANDRAILS

What is the easiest way to clean vinyl-coated handrails and impact guards? The vinyl surface can be cleaned with standard detergents during general cleaning. Is it possible to change the vinyl surface strip when necessary without replacing the whole profile? The surface strip in DionePro vinyl profiles can be replaced during renovation and when the decoration tones are changed. As it is mounted directly on top of the old aluminium strip, it is not necessary to replace the whole profile, which saves costs and natural resources.

Are DuuriPro products fit for premises with a swimming pool? If in contact with chlorinated water, the profiles or manholes must be made to order from acid-proof steel. Tiling profiles can also be made of plastic. The delivery time for made-to-order, acid-proof steel manholes is 3–4 weeks and the delivery time of skirtings is 2–3 weeks.

Why is there a dent outwards from the inside in one of the access cover edges? Has the access cover been damaged during transport? The dent is a locating mark. It ensures that the manhole is easy to close after opening. Closing the manhole in the same position after it has been opened makes it possible to put it easily in place, in spite of the stress that might have occurred in the manhole at the calvanising or casting stage. The dent is not transport damage but a specifically designed detail to prove that the quality of the design and finish is excellent.

How to lengthen vinyl handrails in long corridors? The delivery includes an appropriate number of extension pieces to make it possible to connect the extension points with each other. It is advisable to prepare extension points from factory-made ends to ensure that the joint is inconspicuous.

Duuri Oy’s sales and delivery terms 1. Scope of application These Duuri Oy’s sales and delivery terms shall, unless otherwise agreed, be applied in transactions concerning trade in goods (hereinafter “products”) between Duuri Oy and its customer (hereinafter also the Buyer), where Duuri Oy is the seller of the goods. The Buyer and Duuri Oy are referred to jointly as the Contracting Parties. When placing an order, the Buyer accepts these sales and delivery terms. 2. Offer 2.1 Duuri Oy may give a written offer concerning the products to the Buyer. The offer shall be valid for 30 days from the date of the offer, unless otherwise stated in the offer. 2.2 A contract comes into being when the Buyer accepts the offer during the period of validity of Duuri Oy’s offer. 2.3 An acceptance that arrives after the period of validity has lapsed or a reply that includes additions, limitations or conditions is considered to be a counter-offer by the Buyer. A contract comes into being on the basis of a counter-offer if Duuri Oy states that it accepts the counter-offer. 3. Order and confirmation of order 3.1 The Buyer may place an order for products, even in the absence of an offer, either orally (e.g. by telephone) or in writing (including telefax and email). In the order, the Buyer shall specify the person placing the order, the goods ordered, the delivery address, required time of delivery and contact person. 3.2 If Duuri Oy accepts the order as such, Duuri Oy shall give the Buyer a written confirmation of order (including telefax and email) in which it confirms the order. If Duuri Oy does not accept the order as such, they shall inform the Buyer of this. 3.3 If Duuri Oy has not given a written confirmation of order, but delivers the ordered goods in accordance with the order, this is held to be a confirmation of order by the same. 4. Ranking order of validity of contract documents Contract documents supplement each other. If contract documents are mutually contradictory, they shall be observed in the following order of validity, unless otherwise mentioned in the contract: - a written contract including its appendices - confirmation of an order including its appendices - a written order including its appendices - an offer including its appendices - Duuri Oy’s sales and delivery terms - an invitation for tenders 5. Pricing and invoicing 5.1 The prices in Duuri Oy’s price list do not include value added tax. Prices in offers do not include value added tax, unless otherwise stated. Value added tax and any other such taxes or fees shall be added to the stated prices and shall be invoiced in accordance with legislation in force at the time. Prices and other information in price lists are for reference and Duuri Oy reserves the right to make changes. 5.2 Products shall be invoiced at the price valid on the date of delivery, unless otherwise agreed. 5.3 The prices only include Duuri Oy’s standard packaging. Any other packing materials shall be charged for separately. A charge of 10 € / each shall be made for customer pallets. 5.4 Duuri Oy reserves the right to make price adjustments if exchange rates, raw material prices, import charges or other fees, taxes or public fees change after making the offer and before payment by the Buyer. With regard to exchange rates, Duuri Oy is entitled to adjust the price if the exchange rate difference between the date of offer and the date of payment is greater than 2%. Duuri Oy observes the average rate of exchange quoted by the European Central Bank. 6. Transfer of ownership The ownership of a product is transferred to the Buyer when the whole purchase price is paid. However, the Buyer is entitled, in the course of his normal business activity, to sell also such products that have not yet been paid and for which payment is not yet due. Ownership is then transferred to the Buyer’s customer when the product is delivered. 7. Payment of the purchase price 7.1 The purchase price is paid against the invoice in accordance with agreed payment terms. The term of payment is fourteen (14) days net. The purchase price is deemed to have been paid when the payment arrives in Duuri Oy’s account.

7.2 If the Buyer does not pay the purchase price within the agreed time, Duuri Oy is entitled to charge interest on arrears as mentioned in the contract or invoice and may charge reasonable collection charges. Duuri Oy shall charge 16% interest on arrears from the due date onwards. Duuri Oy shall charge an additional invoicing charge of 10 € for sending an invoice for interest on arrears. 7.3 If the Buyer has any receivables from Duuri Oy, the set-off of the receivable against any invoice must be agreed separately with Duuri Oy. 7.4 If the Buyer delays considerably in making payment, Duuri Oy is entitled to cancel the transaction. The Buyer is then obligated to reimburse Duuri Oy in full for the costs incurred in cancelling the transaction and getting the goods back, including any collection charges. 8. The delivery condition of the product 8.1 Duuri Oy shall be responsible for the quality and other characteristics of the products as defined in the agreement so that they are in accordance with information given in writing by Duuri Oy specifically for the transaction in question. 8. 2 The Buyer shall be responsible for the correctness of the detailed information given to Duuri Oy concerning the purpose of use and the measurements of the products ordered. 8.3 The Buyer shall give notice of any delays in delivery or defects in the products within eight (8) days from the date of delivery in order to retain its right to make a claim concerning the defect. If the defect is noticed later, and it was not possible to notice it earlier, the Buyer must give notice of the defect immediately in order to retain its right to make a claim concerning the defect. 9. Terms of delivery 9.1 The delivery place of the products shall be Duuri Oy’s warehouse in Helsinki (Ex Works, Incoterms 2000). When agreed, Duuri Oy shall deliver the products to the Buyer at the Buyer’s expense (FCA, Incoterms 2000). Deliveries in Finland that exceed seven hundred (700) euros in net value excluding value added tax may be delivered freight paid if so agreed (CPT, Incoterms 2000). 9.2 The recipient of the product shall inspect the packages and acknowledge receiving the products in accordance with the delivery note by signing it. Any notices concerning the quantity and condition of the products shall in this connection be recorded in the delivery note which shall also be signed by the carrier. Furthermore, any notices concerning the quantity of products delivered shall be given to Duuri Oy within two (2) working days of receiving the products. 9.3 The instructions given by Duuri Oy concerning transporting and storing shall be observed. 10. Time of delivery and delays 10.1 The normal time of delivery for standard goods in stock is five (5) working days, unless otherwise agreed. 10.2 If the Contracting Parties have agreed on the time of delivery and Duuri Oy is late in delivery, Duuri Oy is obligated to inform the Buyer immediately when it gets to know of the delay. At the same time Duuri Oy shall report the reason for the delay and shall, if possible, give a new estimated time of delivery. 10.3 If a definite date of delivery has been agreed and the delay on the part of one Contracting Party causes essential damage to the other Contracting Party, this Party is entitled to cancel the agreement with regard to the delayed delivery lot after negotiating with the Party causing the delay. 11. Guarantee 11.1 The products may have a valid guarantee possibly granted by their manufacturer. This must always be ascertained for each product. The guarantee period starts from the date of delivery. Duuri Oy is not responsible for guarantees given by other manufacturers, or how they are implemented. 11.2 A guarantee is valid only if the handling, use, maintenance and other corresponding instructions for the product have been observed properly. Furthermore, in order for the guarantee to be valid, it is necessary that the Buyer has fulfilled its obligations arising from the delivery and as defined in the contract. 11.3 If defects in raw materials or manufacturing are found in the product, this must be reported immediately to Duuri Oy during the guarantee period, however, not later than twelve (12) months from the date of delivery.

11.4 Duuri Oy pledges with regard to products that it guarantees, either to repair the defective product or replace it with a new product, at its own discretion and at its own cost. On the part of other products, Duuri Oy is entitled at its own discretion and at its own cost, either to repair the defective product or replace it with a new product. The guarantee on products that have been repaired or replaced is valid up to the end of the guarantee period of the original product. 12. Returns It is necessary that Duuri Oy gives its consent in advance before any returns are made. No credit is given for goods returned without consent. Returns must be implemented within thirty (30) days of delivery of the products. Duuri Oy shall credit 80% of the invoiced price of faultless products that are returned in unopened packages at the Buyer’s cost. No credit is given for products that are tailor-made. The following shall always be reported when returning: - the number and date of the invoice and delivery note, - with whom was the return agreed and when, and - the reason for the return. 13. Limitation of liability 13.1 Duuri Oy is not liable for any damage caused by delayed delivery of products unless the Contracting Parties have specifically agreed on this. 13.2 Duuri Oy shall not be liable for any production losses or for any unrealised profits or for any other indirect damage caused by its products or its activity. 13.3 Duuri Oy shall not be liable for any direct damage to persons, things or property caused by the products unless it can be proved that the damage was caused by a faulty product. In that case the upper limit of Duuri Oy’s liability for damages is the price of the product that caused the damage. 13.4 Duuri Oy shall not be liable for any damage that is caused when products are used for any purposes other than those for which they are specifically intended. 13.5 These terms of limited liability do not, however, limit the liability of Duuri Oy under mandatory legislation for damage caused by the products. 14. Force Majeure A basis for release (force majeure) from the obligations under the contract is deemed to be such an abnormal event that affects the case and prevents the fulfilment of the contract after the contract has been made and which the Contracting Parties had no reason to take into consideration when the contract was made and which is beyond the control of the Contracting Parties and its inhibitory effects cannot be eliminated without unreasonable additional costs or unreasonable loss of time. Such an event may be war, internal unrest, requisition or confiscation by the authorities, import or export ban, natural catastrophe, stoppage of public transport or energy supply, labour dispute, fire or other equally significant and abnormal reason that is beyond the control of the Contracting Parties. 15. Governing law and dispute resolution The agreement between Duuri Oy and the Buyer concerning orders and deliveries of products shall be governed by Finnish laws. Differences of opinion between Duuri Oy and the Buyer concerning orders and deliveries of products shall be solved in the Helsinki District Court as the court of first instance, if the Contracting Parties are unable to reach mutual understanding on their differences through negotiation.
