Your child’s safety is important at DV Kids Music
We care about safety and your peace of mind - that’s why the products we select adhere to relevant national/ international safety standards. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that instruments and toys are safe, it is vital that children are playing safely with them. To help you keep your children safe we can recommend some basic guidelines:

Buy the right instrument or toy for the right age group. Where applicable we have listed the manufacturers’ age recommendation, but age recommendations and warnings on packaging should always be checked. Age warnings are for safety reasons and should be strictly followed. Many instruments do not have age guidelines from the manufacturer; we suggest that these products fall under “parental guidance” and have rated them PG accordingly.

All products with a manufacturers’ age guideline under 12 months are represented by a blue balloon. The minimum age recommendation is written on the balloon face - see example on left.

Regularly check for broken or damaged instruments and toys and throw them away! Once they are broken, you can’t be sure they are still safe.

Always read and follow manufacturers’ instructions as they contain important information.

Ensure older children keep their instruments and toys away from younger children as they might not be safe for younger hands.
•
Tidy instruments and toys away where possible to avoid trips and falls, and never leave any instruments or toys on stairs.

IMPORTANT: Parental supervision during play is always advised.

Caring for the environment and your child’s future Here at DV Kids Music, we make every effort to source products and manufacturers that care for the environment as well as the children within it. We encourage manufacturers to be environmentally and socially responsible.
Water-based Dyes
Green Materials and Organic Rubber wood
Soy & Water-based Inks
Manufacturers are encouraged to make use of environmentallyfriendly materials. This includes using clean, natural rubberwood recycled from rubber trees no longer able to produce latex. No fertiliser is added so that the wood stays chemical free.
Water-based dyes are becoming more commonly used to add accent to colours of products. These colours contain no heavy metal elements such as lead, mercury, etc. Soy and water-based inks are for use on printed materials. These inks decompose faster than regular chemical ink and can be recycled more efficiently.
Non-Formaldehyde Glues
Products are increasingly now assembled using non-formaldehyde glue in place of tradtional toxic wood glue. These glues contain no formaldehyde emissions.

Boomwhackers & Wak-a-Tubes
A favourite of music educators, therapists and professionals around the world! These tuned percussion tubes are brightly coloured plastic tubes that are tuned by length to musical notes. The standard or higher octave ranges in length from about 1 to 2 feet. The bass octave ranges from about 2 to 4 feet. The 1 3/4” diameter is a comfortable size to hold for young children and adults. The pitch of the tubes can be lowered an octave by using the optional Octavator caps on the end of a tube. Sound is created by striking the tube on any hard surface or with a mallet.
