EXPERIENCE
Envoy had a number of clients with the need to extend their marketing program into physical design components from display fixtures, tradeshow exhibits, retail/corporate environments, all the way through product design. The goal being a fully integrated brand experience. So we finally decided to go out and find the best designer we could get our hands on. We brought Dan Hudson in to build the new department because we knew the quality of his work and his design expertise. After great initial success, we are now rolling out a full launch of the Brand Experience initiative for the end of 2013. Projects in this portfolio represent a small portion of the hundreds of Brands Dan has worked with throughout his career.

CASE STUDY nixon The Nixon Brand Experience is a product of years of working closely with Nixon’s product development, merchandising, and marketing teams. The result of this collaboration is a comprehensive catalog of international fixture and environment programs unique to Nixon. To date, three generations of the Nixon Brand Experience have been produced, each distinct in its own right while firmly anchored in a common Nixon DNA. The process to develop a single fixture begins with product variety and count, messaging needs and overall footprint limitations. The scope of projects includes POP, fixtures, wall sections, shop-in-shop, tradeshow exhibits, kiosks, and flagship stores. As a collection of fixtures develops, we start considering methods of incorporating the current generation’s aesthetics. Once that’s taken care of, a catalog of standard fixtures is published and made available for individual retailers.

Additionally, many of Nixon’s high profile, high volume retailers will often request shop-in-shop sections that are unique to their stores. These are usually a mix of custom built-in wall sections scaled to fit a retailer’s special dimensions, plus existing floor fixtures and POP items from the catalog, all of which adhere to Nixon’s brand guidelines.

CASE STUDY crossover health Crossover Health is a leader in a growing segment of the healthcare industry commonly referred to as “concierge health.” In 2010, they were looking for a flagship facility that would be designed to convey an environment as unique as Crossover’s service model. The design process began with finding commonalities throughout existing facilities, then pinpointing the negatives and figuring out how to make them better. Beginning with a counterhigh, concierge-style reception desk to make walk-up experiences more natural. The desk was also left open at both ends to allow the host to leave the desk to greet patients face-to-face as they entered the reception area. From there, it expanded to the removal of labyrinthine hallways and myriad of unmarked doors to make patients feel more comfortable. It also meant arranging exam rooms and common areas in a way that all medical equipment could be placed out of a patient’s view. Finally, it was important to choose a materials palette that would reflect elements found in nature and help put patients at ease, while incorporating unique architectural details and lighting that would let visitors know they’ve just stepped into a new kind of healthcare facility.
