FOREWORD The North West Caring Community Photo Book was a new initiative to capture the caring moments in the district through the eyes of the students. A photography workshop was organised by North West CDC to teach students basic photography skills to capture moments during caring activities happening in the North West District. Through this project, we hope to inspire youths to contribute and care for the community. Here is a sneak peek at some of the selected photographs captured by the students. After all, Seeing is Believing.

ChristChurch Secondary School Care and Repair – Mid Autumn Festival An event held in lieu of Mid Autumn Festival for needy residents in the North West District. Residents were engaged in activities such as balloon sculpting and mooncake making.

Project I-Care @ Man Fut Tong Project I-Care is a free eye screening for the needy elderly residing in the elderly homes within the North West District. It is a collaboration between Singapore Women’s Association, Rotaract Club of North West and the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology.

North West Fundraising Concert Dinner The North West Fundraising Concert Dinner 2013 was held on Friday, 19 July 2013 at Innova Junior College with the aim to raise $150,000 towards our North West Student Support Fund to benefit the needy students of the North West District.
Admiralty Primary School Food Donation Drive cum Distribution On 23 August 2013, 120 students and teachers from Admiralty Primary School distributed 150 packets of food hampers to the low income household at the rental blocks in Marsiling division. The teachers and students spent 2 months collecting and packing the food items for the households.

Riverside Secondary School Art Fresco – Make Your Own Finger Puppet Amongst the many activities held at the Woodlands Regional Library, Soft Sculpting class is one of them. These activities that are held on weekend afternoons encourage families to spend time together and bond.

Woodlands Secondary School Recycle @ North West North West CDC partners with Tzu Chi Foundation, National Environment Agency, Singapore Environment Council and RCs in the North West District to organise and manage a recycling programme which aims to encourage active recycling and bond residents.
Singapore Science Centre Children from Little Bodhi Student Care Centre as well as some volunteers were brought for an outing to the Singapore Science Centre to learn more fun facts about Science.

Yishun Town Secondary School Know Your Medicines, Get it Right! @ North West Organised by NUS Pharmaceutical Society, registered pharmacists from the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore advise residents in the North West District about the proper usage and storage of medicines. Simple health checks were conducted during the event as well.
Give a Gift @ Bukit Panjang An event where volunteers collect food from the blocks within Bukit Panjang for fellow needy residents in the Bukit Panjang Town.
