Hello! I am Allisen Jones, your 2020 Ross County Jr. Fair Queen. It has been such an honor to serve in this position for the past year. This fall, I am planning on attending a four year university to major in neuroscience to hopefully become a neurologist. I am a ten year 4-Hmember, currently in the Hare and Livestock Raisers4-H club, and a three year Junior Fair Board member. Additionally, I am a member of the Southeastern National Honor Society, FFA,Student Council, and Key Club. During this past year I have gotten the opportunity to travel around the state of Ohio and meet many incredible people from different fairs and festivals. I have learned so many lessons during my time as Queen, including responsibility, leadership, and perseverance. One of the greatest things that I have been able to witness during my reign was the determination of those involved in the production of fairs. To be able to be in the front row, watching those types of decisions be made has taught me so much. I want to thank all of those involved who made fairs possible during this last year. I would also like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity, my parents and family for always supporting me, and my wonderful court for the great memories that we made together. I would like to say thank you to my advisors and the Senior Fair Board for the support and encouragement. I hope everyone has a wonderful fair this year!
King - Kenton Richter
Hello Everyone! My name is Kenton Richter and I am the 2020 Ross County Junior Fair King. I spent this past year as a freshman at Shawnee State University and strived to find my calling. I recently found that calling and I will be transferring to The Ohio State University to study Agribusiness and Applied Economics this coming fall. I have always had a love for agriculture and am confident it is where I belong. I have gotten to learn so much during my reign as King. I have also had the opportunity to meet other fair royalty across Ohio and even experience what other fairs have to offer. I have had to go through a time like no other fair King before me but if it taught me anything it is to be thankful for what we have and the opportunities we get. Participating in 4-H, Junior Fair board, and Fair Royalty has taught me many life skills that I use often today. These activities have taught me how to lead, be responsible, communicate, and meet plenty of new people. If I could give advice to any young 4-Her it would be to get involved and stay busy. Go to 4-H camp, take a project at the fair, join Junior Fair board, and run for royalty because not only will you make an abundance of new friends but you will also make memories that will last a lifetime.
I want to thank my family for always being supportive of me and encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone at times. I want to thank all my 4-H friends and advisors for all the fun we got to have during meetings, training, and camp. I want to thank the Ross County Junior Fair board and Senior Fair board for all the demanding work they do so that we can have a fair. I want to thank all the royalty, including Anna, Cameron, Cannon, Carmen, Clayton, and Kayla for serving with me this year and for all the memories that we made with each other. I want to thank my Queen, Allisen, for not only putting up with me but for always being fun, exciting, and enjoyable to be around. Finally, I just want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a great organization and for introducing me to so many amazing people along the way. I hope that you all have a wonderful time at this year’s Ross County Fair, because as we all know this fair is not like any other.
