In a not so distant world where life seems to have shifted on its axis we enter dystopia galore. Broken down, remixed into something simple — a commentary on our adaption to drastic change, and the fashion, and functionality of dystopian settings.

Florescence reflects the natural beauty of the world through femininity and deceptive elements. These elements connect with the concept of nature’s mysterious and transformative abilities.

Eyes without a face illustrates a series of unconventional and bizarre graphics aimed to make the viewer question what exactly they are looking at and how it came to be with graphics sourced entirely from the initial photoshoot.

II Reclaiming Dollhouse - pg. 14 Inspired by the role of women portrayed through the male spectacle within ads and media from the 1950s to present day, Reclaiming Dollhouse explores the rebellion against the expectations of society. A woman is not confined or defined by their domestic roles. A woman can do everything a man can… and even more.

Surrealism in Fashion Houses - pg. 22

III The Two Fridas - pg. 24 Drawing inspiration from Frida Kahlo’s painting, The Two Fridas, she explores her cultural identity through dividing two versions of herself. This shoot serves as a visual exploration of the complexities of living a co-existing heritage, the universal theme of self-identity, and representation of Frida’s European and Mexican background.

Suburbia - pg. 42

Birds of The Same Feather - pg. 70

A slight surrealist take on suburban life. The creepy focus on two children, a boy and a girl, as they attempt to enjoy their youth whilst confined to the contents of their seemingly plain and boring neighborhood.

Students exist within reality similar to migratory wood ducks. Flocking together and seeking refuge within each other, we create a family unit and support system away from home.

A Colorful New World - pg. 50 A surreal photoshoot set in nature featuring ethereal models shot in Lomography’s 35mm film, Lomochrome Purple. Take a departure from reality through its otherworldly tones and dreamlike atmosphere.

Streetwear: A Unifier and Disruptor - pg. 78

Prisma - pg. 80 Displays the fallacious state of our reflections. Regardless of the efficacy of our efforts, our reflections will always display different internal and external conditions.

Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland Salvador Dali 1969

We are proud to present the latest issue of Diverse World Fashion Magazine. Through The Looking Glass reflects any time the world suddenly appears unfamiliar, almost as if things were turned upside down. Similar to looking out, from inside the mirror, to find a world both recognizable and distorted. When choosing the theme for this semester, we subconsciously found ourselves influenced by Leanna’s encounter at a pop-up Salvador Dali exhibition in Croatia this past summer. We had just been told we would be taking over the magazine in the fall, and had started to draw inspiration from everything around us. Tucked away in a corner of a wall, the gallery remained untouched — a surprising hiding place for a treasure trove embodying Dali’s artistic legacy. Amongst Dali’s diverse array of works, from sketches to lesser-known pieces, it was the Alice in Wonderland series nestled at the gallery’s furthest that was truly captivating. With Dali being one of Leanna’s favorite artists since youth, the fusion of a cherished childhood tale like Alice in Wonderland, and the surrealist and haunting style of the works deeply resonated with her. This particular series left an indelible mark—a blend of reality and dreams intricately woven into a narrative of colors and shapes that defied the confines of tradition. The essence of this encounter seamlessly wove itself into our editorial vision. Just as Dali fearlessly challenged perceptions, we, as students through the labyrinth of life, encounter our own distortions and unexpected vistas. Embracing these diverse perspectives, illusions, and limitless expressions, we extend an invitation to explore the unconventional — a realm where fashion transcends boundaries. We want to give a huge thank you to our incredible team of creatives, as we are so excited to showcase the talent, passion and commitment that is exhibited within the newest issue. Coming into this semester, our main priority was to foster and nourish the creative community that DWF provides for students. The diversity of our members is not only something that we continue to highlight, but celebrate and embrace through their remarkable art. Throughout these past months, we have continuously watched every member pour their heart and soul into every aspect of DWF. This magazine would not have been possible without each one of you, and we wanted to give all our love and gratitude to our DWF family. The community you have all helped grow and nurture has not only strengthened the core values of the magazine, but allowed them to further develop into something truly special. xoxoxo
