A simple touch, skin to skin, With a smile, lips ex posing teeth, And the beat begins . A tune that triggers the fashion show in my inside.

The models lifted sw iftly by them Igniting the movem ent down the runway

. The runway stretche s from my toes to m y brain, Its smooth paths re aching every corner , Its movements mat ch in g w ith m ine, Heart continuously placing a beat that does not fade. Crimson silk rushes up and down, Following long chan nels to the end, Driven by the beat, and when it reache s the tip It is sent back, its w armth lingering in my face. Warm satin of no co lor goes on next, Slightly clumsy, it po urs from the far bran ches of the runway, It falls through the audience, clasping to underlying skin, Making the palms’ bony extensions dam p and slippery. Sweeping the stage, black velvet mutes the crowd, A dark but sweet m elody drones deeply within it, Cold yet warm, The soft folds entwin ed in my voice caus e a strangled silenc e. I look at you as this fashion show urges on, But you don’t know what is happening, Ignorance turns you towards her while I stare at your backs, I swear it’s killing m e, the fashion show in my inside.

Prostitute

By Kyra DeTone

You seem to know a lot about being a Prostitute He Said... He Said... That formed the shapeless on lookers behind their desks, their sanctuaries In front of his thick toothed cronies With corrupted smiled and devilish eyes They laughed, notes gargled by sounds That pressed into me like screaming tacks trickling down my Red arms and red legs Laughs that tasted sour and cold Like rusted iron soaking up the Warm air in my throat They waited silent hands chocking the Sound from their dusty throats As the churning liquids scalded the Soft, dank insides of my body And the hard, chalky teeth Embedded in smooth gums Cracked under the immense pressure Of curses and rage and silence. I looked at him... At him... At his hairs like dirty wires Slithering from his small, closed head And I told him YES YES, I am a Prostitute! I love my Prostitute hair and clothes I love my Prostitute shoes My Prostitute voice At night I smile as I paint the empty curves of my face With blues pulled from the soft feathers of birds I am a Prostitute And I will go out tonight, My shirt tight and my heels high Passionately in love with every bit Of my Prostitute self And I will walk And stop at my corner and continue to love myself.

Ihollaback.org was founded by seven angry New Yorkers (four women and three men) who became fed up with the lack of awareness and commonplace nature of street harassment. Their blog sparked an international movement that allows victims to post stories of victims across the globe have an incredible digital platform from which to share stories and even post pictures of their harassers. In this way, hollaback shakes up the power dynamics, allowing women and other subordinated groups to take the power back from those who harass them. Hollaback’s iphone app allows for quick posting, turning the victim’s phone into an incredible self-defense system so that minutes after a victim is harassed, the whole world can read her/his account.
