b ac kdro p co nce pt

The shape of two identical objects sandwiching an entry point was adopted from the form of “bentar gate in indonesia. Bentar gate was a form of javanesse traditional entry gate made from two separated identical object sandwiching an entry point. Unlike the traditional form of bentar gate, the curvy shape of the symmetrical object was made to show dynamism, artistry, festivity and playfulness, representing the art festival that was going on inside. The unconventional shape of the gate also meant to act as an attraction for people around to come and join in.

Knock down system applied to meet the tight deadline at that time. The structure system was designed to minimize as much construction time as possible, it was pre-assembled before being set up on its site. The join was made by iron pipe that connect 2 or more bamboo stick. The construction on site took only 2 day. The application of knock down system in the gate’s construction, so the structure can be rebuilt and demolish whenever needed. Lamborghini “Gravity defying design”

Location Area Type Client

: Sant’Agata Bolognese : 1150 sqm (2 roundabout) : Competition : Automobili Lamborghini

It is difficult to predict the future. Especially in our ever-changing world, our vision of the future is merely a prognostication. What lies beyond tomorrow stays as a mystery everyday but that doesn’t stop human beings from seeking to peer past the horizon.

d efy i ng gravit y

Throughout our history, each era of advancement technology is hallmarked by the progression of transportation — from steam engine to internal combustion, jet propulsion, space travel and so on. This is why flying cars and self-drive taxis remain a staple in our science fiction narratives. This idea is further translated as the main idea of the monument.

Continuum Both of the monuments are formed by an imaginary inverted arc that spreading accross Museo Lamborghini from boulevard 1 to boulevard 2. These imaginary arcs represent the monuments as one unified structure and as a symbol of bridge between our future and our present. The existence of the monuments compared to its vast plain surrounding, incorporates the ambivalent concept into each of the mass. The monument is designed to evoke ones perception of calm and motion, and also dissolution and density. Both are the representation of the esteemed history of Lamborghini’s masterpieces and the limitless future of Lamborghini.

Progression Taking cue from Lamborghini typography , the spirit of progression is embodied in the design through the warped mass of the monument while retaining the iconic shield form that has been the identity of Lamborghini. Purity Our proposal is set to bond complex elements together, build the pure elegance of one. The monuments utilizes Voronoi diagrams to model a number of different architecture structures, facets and cells into one mass. This represents the various bodies that contribute to the great business of Lamborghini. Purity in the form of the mass design also forces the intended impression into the user’s emotion, imprinting the image upcoming presence of the Automobili Lamborghini.

Roundabout 2

The design proposal of the two monuments allows the illusion of a structure that floats mid-air. This concept breaks not only the laws of physics but also our belief in the norm. The underlining idea is that one-day the force of gravity could be overcome. Just like in our science fiction narratives.

Wayang kulit is a traditional puppet-shadow play found in the culture of Java, Bali, and Lombok, Indonesia. In a wayang kulit performance, the puppet figures are rear-projected on a taut linen screen with a coconut-oil (or electric) light. The Dalang (shadow artist) manipulates carved leather figures between the lamp and the screen to bring the shadows to life. Kayon is an important requisite in the wayang kulit (Javanese shadow puppet) theatre. Kayon or also called gunungan is a representation of the ancient Tree motif.

House to accommodate the primary functions as a home, as well as additional functions as small food stalls and hostel. The Typology of Bale Sakutus (8 pillars Bali House) adopted as the morphological architectural transformation. Our design is influenced by Balinese philosophy. The use of used wood materials, local materials, the application of cross ventilation, and the provision of green open space are implemented to design an environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Concept The Typology of Bale Sakutus (8 pillars Bali House) adopted as the morphological transformation base of Balinese architecture into our design. Based on building functions typology, Bale Sakutus is used as Paturon (bedroom). With that in mind we want the house to be function as a place to comeback and a place to rest, aside its secondary function.

pl a ce mak ing Our design is influenced by Balinese architecture philosophy below: •

Tri Hata Karana - the concept of harmony and balance consists of three elements. We introduce a natural lighting concept, cross ventilation, and bringing in green space into the building, and sustainability concept to create a balance and harmony between the human world and the spiritual world.

Tri Mandala – rules of space division and zoning. We propose a vertical zoning as the embodiment of the philosophy of space and zoning division Balinese architecture.

Sanga Mandala – also a set of rules of space division and zoning based on directions. The origin layout of the spaces were interpreted into horizontally or vertically zoning function.

Tri Angga & Tri Loka - the conception of hierarchy from microcosm, middle realm, and macrocosm. We interpreted it into a hierarchy zone of public, semi-public, and private.

Asta Kosala Kosali – 8 guidelines of architectural designs regarding symbols, shrines, stages, and measurement units. We interpreted it into building proportion balance, and open green spaces layout, and the small shrine location.

Arga Segara – sacred axis between mountain and sea. The axis of mountains in the North and sea at the South use as an opportunity to design cross micro ventilation of house.

The use of used wood materials, local materials, the application of cross ventilation, and the provision of green open space are implemented to design an environmentally friendly and sustainable architecture building.

The Rectorate has the duty to protect the entire academic community in UNTIDAR. This vision is then transformed into a shelter-shaped building, as a protective emblem. The Rectorate is open to all UNTIDAR academic community and also creates closeness between rector and students. In addition, the rectorate is also open minded towards criticism and constructive suggestions for the development of UNTIDAR.This vision is transformed into a building’s mass placement, consisting of two masses that separated by open spaces. This open space visually become connections between the inner and outer space of the building. Rectorate as campus head and protector expected to be transparent and accountable in all governance and procedure of administration. So that all the academic community can monitor the policy and activities of the rectorate. This vision is transformed into a building that is lifted from the ground, thus creating an open plaza area for all academicians. 3
