01 Project Type : Adaptive Reuse

Year : 2018

Area : 8000 sqm

Location : Blk 12, Dakota Crescent, Singapore 390012

Issue : Even though places evolve and change over time, early perceptions of a community can be extremely powerful and exert significant influence on how current & future residents feel about moving to a neighbourhood. There is a need for social infrastructure and local services, support for community development, opportunities for residents to get involved in local decision making, shared social spaces and activities in a new communites.

Design Intent : Creating a co working space in a social housing neighbourhood to promote social sustainability between future communities and the existing communities in Dakota Crescent. The architecture interventions combine this intention with conservation of the existing spatial qualities and the atmosphere and the tone set by the proportions, spans and strong industrial character.
