Mother’s Day Lookbook 2015

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) Introducing six new jewellery collections for mothers. Designed by our artists, customised by you. Unique pieces that celebrate your family story, with personalised elements such as hand-stamped initials, dates, birthstones and symbols.

Yuko Fujita Yuko invites you to string a wearable ‘bouquet’ of native flowers. Individual botanical charms can be selected and threaded along a chain, creating a unique and personal necklace. Choose a flower to symbolise each person in your family – a bold waratah, a gentle correa. Add charms over time to welcome new children or celebrate anniversaries.

Maria Natoli Maria has devised a secret code to represent significant dates. A pattern of triangles and dashes is stamped into sterling silver rings, bracelets and necklaces, to signify your children’s birth dates, your wedding anniversary or an important numeral. Maria’s pieces are punctuated with pops of colour provided by charms and tassels made from recycled knitting needles, and feature thoughtfully-placed rings and clasps where more charms can be added in time.

Camilla Gough White lustrous pearls peek out from Camilla’s ‘pea pod’ brooches and necklaces – each pearl representing a family member. The sides of the pod are forged snugly around the pearls, forming a secure embrace that echoes the nurturing capsule of familial love. Drawing strongly on her background as a sculptor, Camilla’s work represents a masterful command of delicate materials. Each piece is customised to reflect your family grouping, and can be made in a range of sizes and precious metals.

Claire Taylor Claire’s work captures fragile textures and patterns in metal. Organically shaped circles are pressed with symbols such as flowers, birds, leaves or blossoms. Each circle can symbolise a child or a moment, creating a layered necklace that resonates with meaning and connection. Create your own necklace by choosing a chain and as many charms as you like – each charm can be stamped with initials or inset with birthstones.

Jin Ah Jo Jin Ah forms mild steel, often used for industrial or architectural purposes, into sharp geometric structures. Her Mother’s Day collection comprises perforated spheres and circles symbolising children, either strung together or nestled inside coloured cups representing the mother. Bold primary colours and industrial materials reference the strength and passion of a mother’s love.

Vikki Kassioras Ancient Greek phrases from Sappho’s fragments imbue Vikki’s sterling silver pieces with meaning. Your pendant can be stamped with names, dates, or Greek phrases meaning “Gather a child to its mother” or “I have a beautiful child who is like golden flowers”. Add embossed charms customised with your children’s initials or set with birthstones. The textured surfaces of Vikki’s pieces are the result of an array of processes, giving the jewellery the feeling of being a recently discovered artefact.
