Godolphin & Latymer - VMWare View Connection Guide For school issued laptops, you do not need to follow this guide; all the settings are provided for you. Open the “VMWare View Client” on your desktop and you will be connected automatically. If you do not see the icon on your desktop, please contact the ICT Department. Step 1. For Windows and OSX users, download and install the appropriate client for you system from: https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/info/slug/desktop_end_user_computing/vm ware_horizon_view_clients/2_0, if using an iPad or Android tablet, search for “VMWare View Client” from the App Store or Play Store and install the application. Notes for Windows Users: Ignore the download for “VMware View Client for Windows with Local Mode Option”, select the “VMware View Client for Windows” client. To identify whether your version of Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit, click on “Start”, right-click on “My Computer” and select “Properties”. Under “System”, “System type:” identifies the version (see image below).

Windows Connection Instructions Start the application.
In the ‘Connection Server:” box type “view.godolphinandlatymer.com” and click “Connect”.
Enter you normal school username and password in the appropriate box and click “Login”.
Select the appropriate desktop that you want to connect to. In most cases this will be VDI-Staff, click on “Connect”.
At this point you will be presented with a normal Windows desktop that you can work in as if you were working on a terminal in the school. When you have finished working, click on “Start” and “Log off” to finish the session.

OSX Connection Instructions Start the application.
Click “Add Server” and in the “Hostname” box type “view.godolphinandlatymer.com” and click “Continue”.
Enter you normal school username and password in the appropriate box and click “Continue”.
Double-click the appropriate desktop that you want to connect to. In most cases this will be VDI-Staff.
At this point you will be presented with a normal Windows desktop (you may need to reseize this to suit your needs) that you can work in as if you were working on a terminal in the school. When you have finished working, click on “Start” and “Log off” to finish the session.
