July 2011 A message to EAA members, supporters, and partners: Your support of EAA, its programs, and its activities over the past year has been outstanding. I extend personal thanks for your commitment to EAA and aviation. While the past 12 months were challenging, the enthusiasm for the current and future direction of the organization was reinforced by a growth in membership. Last September, Rod Hightower succeeded me as EAA president/CEO. As I continue my work as EAA chairman of the board, this transition has created a complementary leadership group, working in concert with the EAA board and our senior leadership team. As a result, we are able to bring in new perspectives that will be integrated with the programs and culture of EAA. This will allow EAA to embark with vigorous strategies to grow participation in aviation by sharing “The Spirit of Aviation.” Along with EAA’s five-year strategic plan, we are developing what I call EAA’s “20/20 Vision”–an initiative over the rest of this decade that will provide the “people” and financial resources to support programs that will create “the next generation of aviators.” Through EAA’s programs and activities, our organization directly reaches more people with opportunities for flight than any other group. That is an exciting opportunity, but also a great responsibility to create positive experiences for those who look to EAA as their entrance to the wonderful world of flight. With your support, EAA can continue to influence aviation’s future growth and vitality. Thanks again for your support as we address both the opportunities and challenges on the horizon. Sincerely,
Tom Poberezny EAA Chairman
2 | A letter from Tom Poberezny, EAA chairman
July 2011 To all EAA members, supporters, and partners: First, I want to thank everyone who has welcomed me to my new position at EAA. After more than 30 years as a pilot and 20 as an EAA member, the enthusiasm and camaraderie of EAA members has never been more evident to me than in the way you have greeted the Hightowers since I was introduced as EAA’s new president and CEO last summer. It’s a very exciting time for aviation and for EAA. Membership has grown significantly over the past year, both with traditional EAA members and, in a very positive development, with student members. The GA community looks to EAA to lead the growth in aviation participation. The phrase “creating the next generation of aviators” means more than young people; it encompasses everyone with a dream to be part of the world of flight. The past year did have its challenges. The nation’s economy is slowly moving toward recovery, but it has affected aviation just as it has other segments. The unprecedented weather prior to AirVenture 2010 not only caused changes on the grounds for visitors, but it also impacted the final financial figures from the event. We examined every part of EAA’s operation afterward to ensure that the organization could still meet its members’ needs. The EAA board and staff did an outstanding job so the organization is well-positioned for future programs and activities. In the coming year, the EAA board has approved a strategic plan that will provide greater member value, enhance program effectiveness, and create the resources EAA requires to fulfill its mission. The continuing support of the aviation community and enthusiasts is essential to successfully execute these goals. You’ll be learning more about these exciting programs in the months ahead. EAA is seen as a leader in ensuring a healthy future for GA and sport aviation. Your involvement is essential as EAA-member aviators, partners, supporters, and other participants to make that leadership even more effective in the years to come. Now, let’s go aviate! Sincerely,
Rod Hightower EAA President/CEO

Our membership Growing particpation in aviation
EAA membership growth in 2010 In fiscal year 2010, EAA membership grew 7.1 percent to reach a total of 168,855 members. That growth is attributed to new and expanded programs designed to increase participation in aviation, such as International Learn to Fly Day and the Young Eagles Flight Plan. The relaunch of EAA’s highest-rated member benefit, EAA Sport Aviation magazine, helped retain current membership, and its expanded coverage of aviation topics and new design helped attract prospective members to the organization.
New version of EAA Sport Aviation magazine hits mailboxes The inaugural edition of the relaunched EAA Sport Aviation arrived in mailboxes in January 2010 with extensive upgrades and changes based on the input of more than 20,000 EAA members over 18 months. It’s the most significant makeover in the publication’s 57-year history and has generated positive response from members as well as the aviation community. Popular features such as aircraft building and restoring tips, new aviation innovations, and EAA member projects remain each month, with additional graphics support to provide more information to readers. Experienced builders, instructors, and aviators add their unique perspectives each month in a number of new columns, along with increased hands-on practical instruction for those with current or future aircraft projects. New features reflect EAA-member interest with more for the pilot and aviation enthusiasts, including EAA-member reviews of flight products, expert opinions on key aviation topics, upgraded avionics coverage, columns on ultralights and light planes, key government issues facing aviators, and much more. Longtime aviation writer and editor Mac McClellan, best known for his years as editor at FLYING magazine, signed on to bring his expertise to EAA Sport Aviation. McClellan began his online contributions in October 2010, with his renowned “Left Seat” column making its first appearance in November 2010 Sport Aviation.

First International Learn to Fly Day With a goal of providing pathways to participation, EAA launched the first International Learn to Fly Day on Saturday, May 15, 2010. More than 40,000 people were introduced to general aviation, through flights in GA aircraft, ground school seminars, and meetings with pilots, instructors, and other aviation enthusiasts. Nearly 450 events were hosted nationwide, and approximately 150 Learn to Fly Day events were organized by EAA chapters. EAA, PilotJourney, AOPA, Cessna, and many others joined forces to make International Learn to Fly Day an industry-wide effort aimed at a single goal: introducing more people to aviation. A survey conducted by www.PilotJourney.com showed 64 percent of respondents introduced to aviation during International Learn to Fly Day plan to pursue flight training within the next three months. The third Wednesday of May will continue as International Learn to Fly Day thanks to a recently passed U.S. House of Representatives resolution.
Hints for Homebuilders The EAA Hints for Homebuilders video series surpassed 2 million plays on the EAA Video Player in early 2011. The series now has approximately 200 episodes showing helpful tips from experienced homebuilders on composites, tube and fabric, sheet metal, and wood construction methods as well as general building subjects. “We haven’t published that much technical information in a three-year period ever before.” -EAA Chairman Tom Poberezny on Hints for Homebuilders
Experimenter e-newsletter In 2010, Experimenter celebrated two years with highly focused information for homebuilders. The e-newsletter got its name from the original monthly publication created by EAA founder Paul Poberezny, and allows aircraft builders to “dig deeper” into their specific interest. Nearly 30,000 subscribers now receive Experimenter each month, and past issues are archived online.
AirVenture Homebuilders’ Hangar A new hangar opened for homebuilders at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010. The hangar provides homebuilders with an area to see the top names in the amateur-built aircraft community, along with unique aircraft projects. Our chapters Growing particpation in aviation
Burgher Challenge The Peter and Elinor Burgher Challenge Fund was set up in early 2010. An avid chapter member and leader, Peter sought to infuse needed resources into EAA’s chapter program. As Peter put it, EAA’s chapter network is a vital field resource which, if resourced and supported, could do more than anything else to build the future of aviation. Peter challenged EAA and its chapters to match his $100,000 investment. With support from Aircraft Spruce and several chapters, $64,000 was raised by the close of the fiscal year. These resources will support development of websites for all chapters, improved services to reduce accounting burdens felt by many chapters, continued leadership training, and more. Chapters were asked to support the challenge by donating $100. Participating chapters will be recognized at the Brown Arch.
Chapter Leaders Academy In 2010, EAA hosted five Chapter Leaders Academy sessions in Oshkosh, which were attended by 95 officers representing 55 chapters from the U.S. and Canada. These weekend sessions provide networking and fellowship for chapter leaders including information and ideas they can take back home to enrich their chapter. As in past years, 100 percent of attendees indicated that they would recommend the sessions to a fellow chapter leader.
Chapter webinars Building on the issues discussed during the Chapter Leaders Academy sessions, a series of chapter-focused webinars were produced. Virtual attendees watch the seminar from any computer with a high-speed internet connection and ask questions during the session. Chapter-focused webinars included “How to Start an EAA Chapter”; “Top 10 Tips to Improve Your Chapter”; “Young Eagles Flight Rally Planning”; and “Growing Your Chapter – Local Recruiting Ideas.” In addition to the live sessions, all EAA webinars are recorded and can be viewed at any time at www.EAA.org/webinars.

“The workshops have been so well received that many members have returned for a second or third course.” -Mark Forss, manager, new participants
SportAir Workshops Throughout 2010, EAA SportAir Workshops offered more than 50 workshops covering a wide variety of skills. These workshops introduced attendees to the basic skills necessary to construct an aircraft, and also offered experienced builders the opportunity to hone their skills or to branch out into new areas. More than 1,200 people attended SportAir Workshops at locations across the United States and Canada.
Websites for all EAA chapters A new chapter website program was developed in 2010. The program is set to be available to chapters shortly after January 1, 2011. Each chapter will have its own website, which can be customized through a Web interface provided by Webs.com. The website and Web hosting are free, and basic features of the site include integration with the EAA Calendar of Events, photo galleries, chapter news and announcements, and contact information. A redirect option will be available to chapters with existing websites.
EAA chapters are leading the campaign to bring more people to flying. Chapters have had a tremendous impact on aviation in 2010: •
Chapters helped fly more than 71,000 Young Eagles.
•
Nearly 450 chapter events were scheduled in conjunction with International Learn to Fly Day.
•
Aside from thousands of monthly meetings, chapters organize hundreds of pancake breakfasts, fly-ins, and airport open houses, exposing the public to the fun and camaraderie of flying and homebuilding.
•
Chapter-hosted tour stops of the Ford Tri-Motor and B-17 Aluminum Overcast provided more than 7,000 flight experiences.
Our plans for 2011: •
Launch a national “Grassroots Pilot Tour” to engage chapters and local pilots in dialogue of aviation issues and bringing people to aviation.
•
Explore new ways to help those who want to learn to fly.
•
Increase government advocacy actions to protect our freedom of flight and keep aviation accessible.
•
And, in response to your suggestions, we are looking to expand the reach of the Young Eagles program to include parents and other adults who can help support a youngster’s dream of flight, or to take steps to fly themselves.

Salute to Veterans Tribute
Evening Entertainment
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 paid tribute to all veterans by selecting the theme of Salute to Veterans. The whole week honored military personnel from all branches in the United States, as well as other nations, for service to their country and fellow citizens. An extensive list of special programs and events were part of this week-long celebration, which included more than 300 warbirds from every era joining forces with our current military. This celebration, which was led by EAA, the Warbirds of America, and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), coincided with the 75th anniversaries of two significant U.S. military aircraft: the Boeing B-17 bomber and the Douglas DC-3 aircraft, which carried the C-47 (Army) and R-4D (Navy) designations during its active military service. Events included a veterans’ parade supported by Oshkosh Corporation, which also donated commemorative caps that were distributed throughout the week; Old Glory Honor Flight; hundreds of veteranfocused forums and presentations; and air shows featuring all ears of military aircraft. In addition, veterans and active military members received reduced prices on AirVenture admission, supported by Fagen, Inc.
Legendary band Chicago rocked the crowd at AirVenture 2010, concluding opening day with a memorable performance that poured into the night, courtesy of Ford Motor Company. Evening entertainment continued throughout the week with the popular Fly-In Theater, offering attendees the chance to relax under the stars and enjoy one of several aviation-themed movies, hosted by Ford Motor Company with support from Hamilton Watches. And more than 6,000 attendees packed into and around EAA’s Theater in the Woods to see Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band “salute the veterans” with their rockin’ ensemble, hosted by EAA Warbirds of America and Disabled American Veterans. Thousands of visitors to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh migrated to the flightline on Saturday evening to witness an attraction that hasn’t been seen at the weeklong event: a night air show. An all-star cast of air show performers dazzled onlookers in a stunning display of precision pilotage and pyrotechnics. A spectacular display of fireworks, courtesy of Daher-Socata, concluded the air show and ended with a Hollywoodesque explosion known to many as the “Wall of Fire.”

Honor Flight
Dedication of Scotts Warbird Alley
On Thursday, July 29, 2010, EAA, American Airlines, and the Honor Flight Network joined forces to give 80 World War II veterans the opportunity to visit powerful memorials dedicated in their honor on an Old Glory Honor Flight, which departed from AirVenture grounds. The veterans were sent off with music and flag-waving crowds, and were welcomed in the same fashion upon arrival in Washington, D.C. Every member of the crew was a volunteer with a military connection and they flew this trip on their days off.
A vision brought forward by Warbirds member Connie Bowlin, and supported by Jim Hagedorn, president of Scotts Miracle Gro and himself an avid Warbirds member, was unveiled during AirVenture 2010. The newly designed Scotts Warbird Alley will provide for excellent aircraft display – both on hard surface as required by many of the warbirds, and a newly designed grass display area flanking the hard surface on both the east and west side. Runway markings make these “grass strip” showcase areas even more impressive. The center point of Scotts Warbird Alley is the Eagle Plaza, a tribute to volunteers and those who have served and continue to serve our nation in our armed services. The tribute area, unveiled during the Scotts Warbird Alley dedication, honors the spirit of volunteerism, patriotism, and honor.
Electric Aircraft Symposium EAA AirVenture Oshkosh has long been the showcase for innovations. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 was no different. The Electric Aircraft Symposium, supported by Craig and Connie Willan, with support from GE Aviation and Sikorsky, brought together both the thought leaders and the practitioners for a dialogue about the future, challenges, practicality, and impact of electric propulsion for aircraft. Attendance sold out within hours of announcing the program. Erik Lindbergh, Bertrand Piccard, FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt and others marked the first of what will be an ongoing commitment to supporting this pathway.
Wet weather We conducted a drainage study on the grounds and established parameters on what steps are needed to move forward with drainage improvements. We also discovered an old, abandoned drainage tile buried on the grounds. The grounds were vast farm fields long before it became home to EAA and AirVenture. Using these drainage outlets will only help us in our quest to eliminate problem areas where standing water could appear.
Site changes made before AirVenture 2010 Exhibit Hangar C expansion including indoor restrooms 250 Camp Scholler electrical and water hook-ups • Chip-sealed roads • More campground shower and flush-toilet facilities • Expanded availability of flush toilets on the show grounds • Even more green space for rest and shade • •

Our advocates Growing participation in aviation
EAA protected Zenith Zodiac 601 XL owners from an arbitrary grounding EAA’s advocacy team worked closely with the FAA, the Zenith Aircraft Company, and 601 XL owners to pre-empt the grounding of the entire fleet of Zodiac 601 XL experimental aircraft following several wing failure accidents in recent years. EAA not only protected members’ right to build and fly the aircraft of their choice, but also encouraged 601 XL owners to address the safety concerns discovered through the cooperative study conducted by the FAA and Zenith Aircraft. EAA encouraged the FAA to thoroughly examine the issue before acting. The FAA’s release of test data helped the company and builders develop a solution.
We’re part of the team striving to find an alternative fuel to 100LL As part of the General Aviation Avgas Coalition, EAA continues to encourage that all fuel alternatives be thoroughly explored in an open and transparent manner. Any alternative must be affordable and maintain the current level of safety, and the Environmental Protection Agency must properly study the issue and validate all tests.
We worked to restore E-LSA instruction privileges After years of discussions and a point of emphasis during the EAA/FAA Recreational Aviation Summit, the FAA revised its Letter of Deviation Authority (LODA) guidance, allowing primary flight instruction in gyroplanes and ultralight vehicles and for sport pilot certificates in previously exempted experimental light-sport aircraft (E-LSA). Its release re-opens avenues for flight training in the low-and-slow end of aviation. Additionally, the LODA guidance allows for initial and transition training in experimental aircraft, which is of the utmost importance for increasing the safety of amateur-built aircraft. Similarly, allowing primary training in E-LSA is vital to the safety of that segment of aviation.
14 | 2010 EAA Annual Report
Sport pilots may now fly higher We influenced sport pilot rule modifications. Sport pilots may now fly higher (and thus more safely) in mountainous regions and have easier access to towered airports; special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA) now may be used at Part 141 flight schools, further reducing training costs for all student pilots—all resulting in part from EAA recommendations for modifications to the original sport pilot rule. EAA’s focus was to maintain the original intent of the rule—to make learning to fly easier and more affordable, to ensure the continued growth of this segment of aviation, and to ensure continued lowering of economic and regulatory barriers for participants.
TSA security grabs and border crossing hassles Because of negative reaction from EAA and the entire general aviation (GA) community, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is making changes to its Large Aircraft Security Program (LASP) to come up with a more reasonable approach to GA security. EAA is part of the newly formed General Aviation Working Group that will interact with TSA to develop its new approach.
Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) Also as a result of EAA’s input, the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol revised its Advance Passenger Information System (APIS), making the necessary border-crossing procedure more userand GA-friendly.
We saved through-the-fence agreements Through-the-fence (TTF) agreements allow homeowners direct access from their residential hangars to public airports. When the FAA issued a notice of its intent to mandate the discontinuation of all existing TTF agreements and outlaw any future agreements, EAA went into action, developing a model policy for the FAA. EAA member, Warbirds of America Director, and Representative Sam Graves (R-Missouri) called a congressional hearing on the issue. As a result of those efforts, the FAA agreed to modify its TTF policy and adjust agreements as necessary on a case-by-case basis rather than implement a one-size-fits-all directive. EAA continues to monitor this issue.

Our Young Eagles Growing particpation in aviation
The impact of the Young Eagles program is showing. Of the 1.1 million Young Eagles eligible to earn their pilot certificate, we’ve found that nearly 12,000 Young Eagles are currently active pilots. And nearly 3,000 Young Eagles are now flight instructors. We’ve also found that a Young Eagle is 5.4 times more likely to be an active pilot when compared to the U.S. population of the same age range (15-34 years old). And, the more flights the Young Eagle goes on, the more likely they are to become a pilot.
Introducing the Young Eagles Flight Plan expansion of Next Step program The Young Eagles introductory flight is now Step 1 in a five-step aviation journey we call the Young Eagles Flight Plan. Step 2 is a free EAA Student Membership providing the tools for a successful aviation journey. Step 3 is the Sporty’s Pilot Shop Complete Flight Training Course, a free two-part ground school that preps students for flight training. Once students complete part 1 of the ground school, they can take their First Flight Lesson, Step 4 of the program. If students decide a career in flying is for them, Step 5 offers flight training and Air Academy awards and scholarships to support their professional dreams. We’re seeing results already. Since the Young Eagles Flight Plan was introduced: • 8,000 Student Membership requests • 6,500 Sporty’s Pilot Shop course participants • 200 Free Flight Lesson vouchers issued • 30 FAA knowledge exams passed • 5 new private pilots with dozens more in training • $25,000 in flight training scholarships awarded

Our legacy
Growing particpation in aviation
Accreditation puts EAA AirVenture Museum in top tier of nation’s museums EAA earned a15-year accreditation from American Association of Museums in 2010. The latest approval marks the third consecutive time the AirVenture Museum has earned the AAM’s “seal of approval.” The EAA facility was the first aviation museum in the U.S. to earn accreditation in 1988, and one of fewer than 10 aviation museums in the nation to hold the rating.
New member benefit: free admission to hundreds of great museums ASTC through program In addition to the annual pass to EAA’s AirVenture Museum, EAA members now receive a “passport,” or free admission to more than 300 museums throughout the world, as of May 1, 2010. To provide this new member benefit, EAA joined the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) and is now a member of the group’s Passport Program.
Humanities Grant supports museum programming A Wisconsin Humanities Council grant helped EAA launch a series of discovery lectures in the museum, using existing archives and inviting noted experts to provide a deeper view of the impact of aviation throughout the past 100-plus years. Museums are wonderfully exciting and trusted places of learning. The grant helped uncover public opinion, views, and interest in the development of more robust exhibits and expanded use of our archive by schools and other organizations. Subjects such as women’s emerging role in aviation, the impact of flight on our armed services, social and economic factors that resulted during the Golden Age of aviation, and others generated timely discussion and a great deal of local interest. Other grants included funding from the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium, supporting Museum Education Space Weeks (introducing thousands of youth to the math and sciences of flight through hands-on challenges), and Women Soar, a mentor program that helps teen girls explore the career opportunities available to them in the aviation field.

EAA partners with AMA to expand participation in aviation In 2010, EAA and the Academy of Modeling Aeronautics (AMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) pledging to collaborate on programs and initiatives to expand participation in aviation. Under the partnership, EAA and AMA will collaborate on youth engagement efforts, encourage AMA clubs and EAA chapters to work together at the local level, and encourage members to participate in each other’s activities, including EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and the annual AMA Expo. Earlier in 2010 the EAA AirVenture Museum debuted “Little Wings…Big Dreams, Sport Aviation in Miniature.” The new, yearlong exhibit highlighted the craftsmanship and ingenuity of model aircraft builders of various disciplines, including radio control, free flight, control line, and static models.
EAA historic aircraft tours EAA’s WWII B-17 Flying Fortress, Aluminum Overcast, visited 29 different states this year, making nearly 56 stops at local airports, aviation museums, EAA chapters, and other aviation institutions, giving once-in-a-lifetime experiences to 3,396 people. EAA’s 1929 Ford Tri-Motor provided 7,439 people with the understanding of what it was like to ride in the world’s first true airliner. Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts also enjoyed the golden years of aviation through flights in EAA’s Swallow, Travelair, and other historic aircraft at Pioneer Airport. These outreach efforts promote aviation history and encourage participation.
EAA AirVenture Museum

This year’s SR-71 “Blackbird”, designed by a team of creative Ford engineers and donated to EAA by the Ford Motor Company, received the backing of Lockheed Martin, which issued a license to Ford to use its trademark, SR-71 “Blackbird”. Truly a one-of-a-kind vehicle.
Thank you
for helping grow the next generation of aviators
Thank you to all our donors, who gifted nearly $5 million. Every gift, big or small, made an impact in 2010.
Give Wings Give Wings, our individual donor program, raised more than $489,000 to support youth education and historic preservation programs that help young people achieve their dreams. EAA also distributed close to $314,000 in the form of youth scholarships, most of which are endowed, to EAA educational programs, school visits, and college tuition in 2010.
Gathering of Eagles Our annual Gathering of Eagles fundraising event, presented by Cessna Aircraft Company for the sixth consecutive year, was attended by more than 1,000 supporters. More than 130 winning bidders departed with items of their own dreams and aspirations. The end result was more than $2.1 million raised in support of the EAA Young Eagles program and other association efforts to inspire young people to become engineers, aviators, astronauts, scientists, innovators…the aviation pioneers of tomorrow.
Share the Spirit Sweepstakes and Young Eagles Raffle Other fundraising activities in 2010 and at AirVenture included Share the Spirit sweepstakes and the Young Eagles Raffle. With the support of Aviat, the Share the Spirit sweepstakes brought in $475,000 to support youth initiatives and historical preservation. Other sweepstakes donors included Chevron, Honda, Remos, Hamilton Watches, Canon, and Bose. Special thanks to EAA Chapter 22 members for continuing to support the sweepstakes operations. The 2010 Young Eagles Raffle, with the help of Ford Motor Company and Kocourek Ford of Wausau, Wisconsin, raised $103,000 for the program.

First Wing, Memorial Wall, and Compass Hill Nine members were inducted into the First Wing this year during AirVenture, honoring their support and commitment to increase EAA’s endowed funds through their donation of $5,000 or more, or through a future commitment outlined in their will or estate plan. The annual Memorial Wall ceremony, honoring members “gone west” and traditionally held on the last Sunday of AirVenture, remembered 84 aviation enthusiasts whose support and passion for aviation positively impacted the lives of those around them. Fourteen aviation enthusiasts were honored with their own brick at Compass Hill symbolizing their dedication to the spirit of aviation.
Brown Arch EAA’s tribute area, the Brown Arch, helps hundreds of EAA members and AirVenture guests remember and honor their longtime participation and their pilgrimage to Oshkosh. Families came together on the square to remember their years of fun and experience, to remember loved ones, to honor friends long gone, and to leave messages of inspiration to all who come to AirVenture Oshkosh. A ceremony was held daily at 11:30 a.m. as AirVenture Oshkosh Chairman Tom Poberezny positioned a tribute brick daily, thanking and acknowledging the volunteerism and leadership of those whose commitment make AirVenture Oshkosh possible.
Our volunteers Our volunteers have been the heart of EAA’s accomplishments since the beginning. Every event, program, service, and even day-to-day operations involve volunteers. We couldn’t do what we do without them. Nearly 5,000 people volunteered their time at AirVenture 2010, including those who helped at KidVenture, Women Soar, Operation Thirst, admissions, flightline operations, and maintenance. The EAA AirVenture Museum wouldn’t have been the same without our 110 docents sharing their unique backgrounds with visitors, and guiding them through aviation’s history. Pioneer Airport brought the “Golden Age” of aviation to life with the help of 75 volunteers this year.
Our business partners In addition to donors and volunteers, our business partners also play an important role in the financial health of EAA. Sponsors, exhibitors, and advertisers committed more than $7.9 million in 2010, an investment that helped fund and support educational programs, advocacy efforts, AirVenture site enhancements, and more. The support from our business partners also allows EAA to keep its dues low and AirVenture admissions reasonable.

for helping grow the next generation of aviators Our volunteers have been the heart of EAA accomplishments since the beginning. Every event, program, service, and even day-to-day operations involves volunteers. We couldn’t do what we do without them. Nearly 5,000 people volunteered their time at AirVenture 2009, including those who helped at KidVenture, Women Soar, Operation Thirst,

The EAA AirVenture Museum wouldn’t have been the same without our 113 docents sharing their unique backgrounds with visitors, and guiding them through aviation’s history.
