Auerbach (V.)/Dresden. EAO Automotive GmbH & Co. KG Auerbach belongs to the youngest members of Saxony’s environmental alliance. At the 8th Saxon environmental management conference in Dresden, the company from Vogtland received its entry certificate. With the first (and successful) auditing, as well as certification based on the environmental management standard ISO 14001:2004, the design and processing vendor for the automobile industry fulfilled the prerequisite for admission into this alliance, and confronted its eco-political responsibility. For example, EAO Automotive could reduce the electricity demand for its climate chambers through optimization of its capacity utilization. The company also opened up resources with stock. Manufacturing waste, such as precious metals and high quality plastics, are returned to the production cycle.

EAO Automotive can look back on a successful development since its founding in 1991. Within the EAO group, it is one of three design and production locations in addition to its head office in Olten (Switzerland) and a factory in Guangzhou (China). Auerbach established itself within the group as an automotive competence center. EAO Automotive develops and produces various switch solutions to the point of mechanical and electronic operating and visual display units for well-known automobile manufacturers and system vendors. The products are used in many automotive areas, as in cockpits, seats, safety belts or in braking assembly groups. The company employs 120 employees, from which approximately one in eight works in research and development. Know-how for projects and personnel is also generated from the collaboration from regional universities. Future engineers and skilled workers are welcome, EAO has been training its employees for many years. Further information: www.eao.com/automotive
