Is Your Rent Being Raised? Has your landlord given you notice again? The market is still great and interest is still very low. You can often buy for less money than renting. The Summer is Upon Us! With the advent of summer, including Memorial Day, June Grads, Father’s Day , Independence Day, and, of course, my birthday! With the Summer also comes the summer doldrums….that time of year where there are so many obligations, so many things to do, and the great weather in which to do them; we tend to put off other things that could be beneficial to our long term benefit. The one I am talking about, no surprise, is the purchase of real estate for the next phase of your life, whatever that may turn out to be. At this time, we are blessed with a sufficient number of homes on market that almost every taste can be accommodated! Coupled with this is a tremendously low mortgage interest rates that may be available to people, this may be the one summer that should have some serious time dedicated to searching for a new home. While interest rates are beginning to show some strength, they are still low and should stay low unless there is a major improvement in the economy. The prices of homes on sale right now appear to be soft as there are more homes on market but fewer people active today, looking to buy them. All of this leads the motivated and serious home buyers to search for their forever home, negotiating a price, asking for credits and repairs, and finding a way to lower the mortgage monthly costs! Opportunities do not come around very often and generally do not last very long. It is not often that person wins playing chicken with the market. The market can move very fast and leave the person in the market on the outside, looking in! Do not be one of those wishing they had done something.
