The junior teams participated in various cricket festivals alongside other schools. These events provided them with valuable experience and exposure to competitive play. The juniors demonstrated enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, which will undoubtedly benefit their development as future cricketers.

Overall, this season has been a strong one for our school cricket teams. Each group has shown growth, determination, and sportsmanship, laying a strong foundation for continued success in the future.’

The 1st team finished their season travelling to Ascot to play in The Lambrook 100 cricket festival. After a strong warm up in the nets, the girls looked focussed in their penultimate test of the season. The girls stepped up and their performance in the first match was exceptional, with high scores from Saskia W paired up with Lottie H who scored a 50 before retiring. Our fielding skills matched those of our batting, winning the first match against Grove Hall 158-49. Our afternoon match against Lambrook was more competitive. Batting first and tired from a full morning’s cricket, the Lambrook first team, who had yet to play, looked fresh and bowled us for 57 all out.

They all had a wonderful day. The progress made throughout the season by each and every player has been nothing short of impressive, showcasing their dedication, hard work, and remarkable growth as a team. Well done to all girls.

Notably, this event presented Darcie with her most significant challenge to date, competing on the largest course she has encountered so far. Despite feeling nervous before her performance, Darcie displayed significant composure and delivered an outstanding round, marking a significant personal achievement.

SPORTS DAY

It was fantastic to welcome so many families and friends to all of our Prep, Nursery and Pre-Prep Sports Days. The children performed brilliantly and enjoyed the variety of events on offer. The Pre-Prep and Nursery Sports Days did not disappoint. We had some much needed glorious weather to lift everyone’s spirits towards the end of term and everyone was fully involved, joining in, and enjoying the atmosphere. It was lovely to see such talent in the sprint events and introduce the pupils to jumping and throwing events in pre-prep.

With the prep Sports day being postponed, it was a relief to finally have some good weather to help allow the children to perform to their full potential. There were stand out performances in the throws and sprints which always excites the crowd and as always there were some very competitive and loud tug of war competitions. Congratulations to VCs for winning the overall Prep Sports Day.
