Dear Friends, On behalf of the Development Leadership Networks Planning Committee, we are very pleased to welcome you to our inaugural affinity day for Chief Development Officers. This day is possible because of the talents of our committee members: Jake Adams, Bernadette Bitting, Darrell Byers, Bill Fehrman, Claire Fleischer, Ann Kora, Debbie Strahanoski and Nancy Weintraub. Over the last few months, they have worked hard to plan a meeting that makes the best use of our time together and that will leverage our collective fundraising expertise. As each of us knows, philanthropy is more important than ever to the sustainability of our organizations and those we serve. While we are all experiencing declines or unchanged governmental revenue sources, philanthropic investments continue to be in high demand across the nation. For this reason alone your planning committee believed that it was important for Chief Development Officers and our partners to come together to discuss strategy, and share some of our best work with one another to further elevate our philanthropic successes. Our time together includes sessions that range from best practices around diversifying giving and multichannel fundraising strategy to the role of the Chief Development Officers in board relations and what the future of the Development Leadership Network will look like. At the end of our time together we hope to have new friendships, partnerships and exciting ideas and the tools needed to: • • •
