Fund might be a great option for you. Unlike many other Funds, which have a specific focus, the Community Fund is unrestricted. Its flexibility allows ECCF to fund grant applications that address the community’s most pressing needs, whatever they may be. A gift to the Community Fund is an excellent way to build opportunities for a diverse array of Eau Claire area nonprofits. Since its creation, the Community Fund has supported grants to organizations in all four ECCF giving categories— Create Culture, Form Futures, Give Green, and Offer Opportunities.

Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. Create Culture Grantee Spotlight Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. (ECJI) exists to educate, inspire, and entertain audiences with diverse jazz experiences through performances, clinics, master classes, and other special events. Since 2009, it’s collaborated with UW-Eau Claire to expand the Eau Claire Jazz Festival into the community. Other ECJI events include downtown’s annual ‘52nd Street’ music festival and the 1920’s jazz party ‘Gatsby’s Gala’; together, these events impact more than 11,000 people each year. ECJI is one of the reasons our community’s soul is singing!
B.J. & Bea Farmer Family Fund Unrestricted Fund Spotlight ECCF wouldn’t be the same without the dedication, generosity, and vision of B.J. and Bea Farmer. As Founders and Legacy Society members of ECCF, they B . J. &
Bea Far m er
envisioned a Foundation that would help create a stronger community. B.J. served on several ECCF Committees, and Bea was a Founding Member of the Women’s Giving Circle. They received the 2014 Leadership Award from ECCF as well as the 2007 Outstanding Achievement Award for their contributions on behalf of local children. One of their most significant contributions was the creation of their Unrestricted Fund, which allows ECCF to fund the community’s most pressing needs. Among the Fund’s diverse grantees is Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. Although B.J. and Bea recently passed away, the community will forever be impacted with this Fund and through their impact lives on through their Fund and through their inclusion of ECCF in their estate plans. Because of the Farmers’ vision and foresight, local nonprofits can build even more opportunities for our community.

Literacy Chippewa Valley Form Futures Grantee Spotlight Literacy Chippewa Valley (LCV) is a community based literacy program that empowers people to develop skills necessary for economic self-sufficiency. LCV’s positive impact includes helping adults learn to speak English, earn their GED credentials, raise their reading, writing, and math levels, gain better employment, and in some cases, become U.S. citizens. With help from LCV, many local residents are better able to reach their educational, employment, and life goals.

OutdoorMore, Inc. Give Green Grantee Spotlight Winter can be something to look forward to thanks to the work of OutdoorMore, Inc.’s dedicated volunteers. Since 2013, they’ve been turning Eau Claire’s Pinehurst Park into an epicenter of outdoor activities, including hockey, skating, sledding, skiing, and snowboarding. Their vision is to create a place “where kids can have fun and be active outside in winter; a place to compete among friends; a place that will become a year-round action sports gatheringplace.” Together, OutdoorMore, Inc. and generous supporters like the Mintons are helping the community enjoy Wisconsin winters.

Over 3 Years
This Fund supports the Eau Claire Police Department (ECPD) Junior Police Academy, a week-long course for area youth ages 12 - 17. Its mission is to enrich the ECPD’s connections with the children of Eau Claire and foster lasting partnerships that motivate them to become responsible, involved citizens. During the course, students receive basic technical instruction about police work, develop an understanding of criminal law and the judicial system, and learn about various roles within the ECPD. The program will be expanded in 2019 to include an advanced session for students interested in policing as a career.

The K9’s are highly trained, dual purpose dogs, which means that they’re trained to detect numerous types of illegal drugs, track missing/vulnerable citizens, or assist with apprehensions when necessary. The handlers of these K9s are dedicated to educating the community through presentations. The mission of the Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association is “to empower people, advance cultures, and enhance the quality of life for Chippewa Valley low-income families.” In 2018, the Women’s Giving Circle provided grant funding for its Ntuj Tshiab (New Day) Program, which provides culturally sensitive advocacy and support to Hmong survivors of sexual assault. The program provides a safe space for participants to share their stories without blame and shame. With support from this grant, group members received transportation, craft supplies, and outings to create a positive environment that helped them heal.

Legacy Society The Eau Claire Community Foundation established the Legacy Society to recognize its members who made provisions in their estate plans to provide a gift to the Foundation for the causes they care about the most. By including the Eau Claire Community Foundation in your will, establishing a charitable gift annuity or remainder trust, or naming the Foundation as beneficiary of a life insurance policy, members of the Legacy Society look beyond the here and now to the future well–being of the greater Eau Claire area.

Thank You! Every grant ECCF makes is supported by a gift from someone like you. We are deeply grateful for the gracious, giving and generous friends who have made a gift to one or more funds at the Foundation. Memorials and Honorariums are an excellent way to recognize someone while also making a lasting difference in your community.
