ADAPTSTAR

Because of its adverse effects, the need to recycle existing mass of single use plastics can never be exaggerated. Also, the ban and replacement of plastics can mean the death of plastic recycling business which might imply the abandonment or demolition of plastic recycling facilities. The abandonment and demolition of buildings prevail because these buildings are not designed with a built-in potential to be used for other function when it outlives its original. This implies the design of a future adaptive plastic recycling factory. Industrial architecture in this study will be approached using the AdaptStar model. Economic features

Raw material is imported from waste recovery hubs and roadside plastic scavengers, it is then dumped on a plastic dump located within the site. Recycling Process Differs among all plastic types, only the HDPE, LDPE and PP are readily recycled due economic/ financial implications. Recycling Process range from washing the plastic waste to transformation into new products ready for the market, HDPE & PP undergo Injection molding and can be shaped into plastic kitchen ware such as bowls, cups and laddle, or furniture this depends on the mould design. LDPE undergoes blow molding and can be shaped into thin films which can be used for variety of purposes from non food packaging to Damp proof membrane and also for use in concrete casting.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

This project was aimed to provide affordable housing modules for people of the middle class in Emekuku, using cost effective building methods and materials.

During the group research and documentation of Azaraegbelu, Emekuku, Building typology was used to identify the Higher, Middle and Lower class of the community

because most residents did not readily give out their sources of income and how much they earned.

We assumed the people who lived in mud houses were of the lower class, those who lived in Bungalows with 3-5 rooms are the middle class and then those in 2 (two) or more floored buildings with 4-7 rooms; the Higher class. The Average middle class had 6 (six)

members; The father, the mother and Four Children of random sexes. This building orientation ensures that the morning sun is visible through the windows of the sleeping quaters, and it sets at the living quaters, reinforcing the psycology of a daily fresh start and lights off.

Aluminum Flash Finish Pole Plate Iron Corbel Bolt Pole Plate to Wall. Adaptive Plastic Recycling Factory

Building economics and rationality has a large role to play in the design of affordable housing, choice of materials and methodology influences the cost of the structure. Locally sourced materials and labour offer the least expensive practices in the reduction of building cost. In the context of Azaraegbelu Emekuku, Concrete, masonry blocks,

wood and aluminum are readily and locally sourced materials, joisted masonry and simple load bearing structure, single plane lean to roof with wooden member are cost effective methods of construction.

Building orientation play a huge role in energy conservation in terms of climatology and taking advantage of surrounding atmospheric conditions i.e

solar radiation and solar path for natural daylighting and the prevalent trade winds paths are also considered to traps as much natural ventilation as possible. Sun travels from the east to the west from 6am till 6pm and the prevalent winds are the NE (north-east) trade wind from the Sahara Desert and SW (south west) trade wind from the Atlantic Ocean.

Elements & Principles of Design

The aim of this design project is to provide a gym for the faculty of environmental sciences Imo State University. This facility will ensure that students find a momentarily relief from the pressure of the academic environment.

This semester we were taught how to make use elements and principles of design in the formation of

the elementary blocks of design. I used Curves, Circles Joined in Variety and hierarchy to form an abstract organic shape of the plan. The Elevation I derived from dissecting a kettle bell thereby forming slanting walls.

In response to climatic factors wall slanting outwards + roof overhangs protect interior spaces from receiving direct sunlight therefore resulting to partial

shading indirect lighting, I used Long vertical windows to trap natural ventilation and ensuring thermal comfort of users.

MY TABLE

Furniture Fabrication and Materials Study; Wood/Steel

Durability, strenght, ductility, Toughness, & Workability are the core properties of Steel. Due to its susceptibily to extreme weather conditions interior spaces provide the best use for steel materials, where it can live for a lifetime. Methods of steel joinery are Mainly: Welding & Bolts.

Properties of Wood include texture, lustre, color, moisture content etc... Wood offers a good worktop for an office space but in situations whereby it is exposed to extreme heat or direct fire, it gets burnt.

especially in cases of the MDF boards, compared to carved wood. This furniture design incoporates wood and steel in a minimalistic approach, Hence a 0.75sqm table that will serve as worktop for two (2) - three (3) computer users. it also features storage cabinets for books and stationaries.

AUDITORIUM CHAIR SET

Furniture Design and Fabrication

This collaborative product design and manufacturing of a set of seats for use in a lecture room. This was for my architecture internship at SLICK DESIGN KONSULT.

My role was to develop digital models from sketches made by the senior architect, my core roles include BIM modelling, Rendering, Presentation and construction

drawings for use by the fabrication team.

The project process ranges from Design stage, procurement of materials, Fabrication, Finishes and Delivery.

Materials: i.e., steel of different Sizes, Wooden HDF boards and bolts. Also, fabrication tools such as welding electrodes, Filing discs, drilling pins, body filler put-

ty, sand paper and paint. Fabrication i.e., cutting steel pipes to sizes and welding into Z and triangle profile for the seats and base support. Cutting and shaping of wooden seats and backrest boards to size. Then the Z and triangle profiles were welded to the Bottom bar on the manufacturing stand, alongside brackets/ plates perforated to accommodate nuts and bolts.

VACCINE DELIVERY SYSTEM

m0004 Design Competition

Considering that the COVID-19 vaccine is out and manufactured at full demand stock, mere distribution by air freight to countries is a tip of the iceberg compared to the challenge of administrating the liquid gold to rural villages especially in the depths of Africa where distant communication is still

at the level of smoke and gongs.

This study develops a mobile 20 feet container vaccination module positioned at the roadside of major routes to community central business districts. This would ensure public awareness and security from existing checkpoints.

To curb further spread of

the virus, social distancing and face mask rule must be adopted on the queue to the vaccine, the long route of the road accommodates the queue which can go on for miles.

Solar electricity with batteries system is incorporated to make sure the vaccine storing freezer unit keeps running.

Home Office Module

This design features a single unit of a two floor semi-detached lodging for 2 adults, it portrays the new factors to be considered in the post COVID-19 world of affordable housing. There are two entrances;

1. The front large door with direct access to the office which could also be left open at work hours to allow proper ventilation, natural lighting and adequate visual recreation to office users.

2. The second door much smaller, serves as main entrance with a wash basin provided for easy hand wash on entry. Besides the door lies the wall mounted Amazon echo show device, a 7 inch

digital assistant which could be personalized to Connect and report medical statistics and emergency to local health authorities. Outdoor storage is provided to allow store essential hardware in order to decongest interior spaces. There are also provisions for an outdoor cloth line to enable residents dry their clothes and linen using the sun as natural sanitizer. The public interior spaces like the living room and office are regulated with the new social distancing rules of 2meters as shown with the white isometric ellipses. The kitchen allows one user at a time, provisions for food storage and an emergency exit door were

also considered.

The upper floor features;

1. Private Bedrooms with ensuite sanitary facilities, these bedrooms are properly cross ventilated to ensure indoor comfort in due season.

2. Household porch for residents with an indirect access to the open air recreation space.

3. Public open air recreation laced with shrubs to provide a feel of nature, this would facilitate outdoor activities like yoga, exercise in general as well as foster social interaction amongst the two units while practicing social distancing.

The presentation is a 30° 30° isometric explosion and colour scheme was derived from the competition flier.

INTERIOR IMAGERY

Interior Design & Visualization

These are some interior design projects

I did freelancing for various architectural organizations immediately after my undergraduate programme this include;

Man Cave: This is an interior visualization project for G-projects Ltd. It featured a private lounge/ Bar/ Office, the theme was dark woody mood. My main task was to apply materials, lighting and replace illustrative blocks with more realistic Objects to already existing 3D model built by my colleague. The project was done entirely on Sketch-up and V-ray

Home cinema and bathroom was done

Man Cave Sketch up + V-ray & Photoshop

for Urban Axis Developers Inc. the project was aimed at developing realistic imagery of certain rooms in a building currently under construction in order to further explain spaces, parts and components to Investors and the construction team.

My major assignment was to produce computer aided imagery of the home

cinema and bathroom of an already designed floor plan and then using sketches doodled by the project manager to further explain the position of components.

the potentials of the interior space so that the interior finishes and renderings of the hotel could be awarded to my company.

This studio room with an office space is a typical room with the hotel facility. The design approach is minimal with subtle décor and dramatic lighting paying great attention to functionality and circulation.

Skyview Apartments lounge and dining visualization was a similar project designed with the intent of being awarded interior finishes also done for G-projects Ltd.

EXTERIO IMAGERY

Exterior Design & Visualization

These are exterior visualizations of random projects, both academic and non-academic, and also using a variety of software I was able to build facades and surrounding landscape. Materials and lighting play a huge role on the whole outlook of a building and the overall representation of objects and components.

The Initial proposal of semi detached terrace apartments was my initial idea on affordable housing which was diss -

approved by my proffesor. the second is a freelance design project of 4 bedroom bungalow for my uncle, and the lat was Computer aided design undergradute assignment of 6 Bedroom country Villa for Mr. ABC.

All models were built on ArchiCad and rendered on 3Dsmax Vray, Sketchup Vray and Artlantis respectively.

BRAND IDENTITY DESIGN

Logo, Elements, Patterns, Mocks.

Having been opportuned to attend both fine arts and Architecture schools, I have been able to combine art forms and pseudo precision to create abstract symbols which can be used to graphically represent an organization and its goals and objectives. These symbols are universally referred to as Logos and brand identity. Since my graduation I have taken part in various logo design and branding projects either as competition or freelance. Also, I have designed marketing mediums known as fliers, billboards, roll

ups, menus, catalogue’s Etc. Vennplay.Ai is a learning platform based in India, the logo project was listed asa competition on freelancer.com thus my proposal: Just as the “Venn”, the “Next” button is a powerful tool which infuses an imaginery dash link and or intersection between multiple variables. This logo expresses different factors carved from the Venn, “All-in” one to push the successors of the digital future onto the next stages of development in their various fields.
