Wir sind der Pionier. We are the pioneer. Seit 2010 schreiben wir mit Haibike eine einzigartige Erfolgsgeschichte. Als erster Player auf dem Markt ist es uns gelungen, die physische Sportlichkeit eines Mountainbikes mit der kraftvollen Dynamik einer MotocrossMaschine zu verbinden. Damit haben wir nicht nur eine einzigartige Mobilitätsgattung etabliert, sondern auch einen völlig neuen Sport geschaffen: das ePerformance-Biking. Zahlreiche Auszeichnungen, unter anderem fünf iF Design Awards, zwei Design & Innovation Awards, zwei Eurobike Awards, der Interbike “eBike des Jahres” Award in den USA, der 2. Platz bei der Leserwahl zum Mountainbike des Jahres der Zeitschrift MountainBIKE, verschiedene Testsiege und Kaufempfehlungen sind für uns Bestätigung, dass wir den richtigen Weg eingeschlagen haben. Gleichzeit sind sie aber auch unser Antrieb weiterzumachen, nie stillzustehen.
We have been making an exceptional history with Haibike since 2010. As the first player on the market we managed to combine the physical sportivity of a mountainbike with the powerful dynamic of a motocross-machine. With this we haven’t only established a unique mobility type but also created a completely new sport: the ePerformance biking.
Numerous awards, like three iF Design Awards, one Design & Innovation Award, many Eurobike Awards, a Red Dot Design Award, the first Interbike Award in fair history for an eBike, the 2nd place for the XDURO Nduro Pro at readers’ choice of the MountainBIKE magazine, different test wins and buying recommendations provide us confirmation that we are on the right way. GUIDO TSCHUGG GUIDO TSCHUGG Er ist einer der erfolgreichsten und bekanntesten deutschen Profi-Mountainbiker, mit einer sagenhaften Erfolgsgeschichte: Guido Tschugg. Zu seinen größten Erfolgen zählen der 4Cross Weltcup-sieg in Fort William, der zweite, dritte und vierte Platz in der 4Cross Gesamtweltcup-Wertung, 6 Deutsche Meistertitel sowie Bronze Medaillen bei der Europameisterschaft in Stollberg und der Weltmeisterschaft in Neuseeland. Darüber hinaus nahm er als einziger Deutscher zwei Mal bei der „Red Bull Rampage“, dem weltweit wohl härtesten Mountainbike Freeride Rennen, teil. Haibike und Guido gehen seit Januar 2015 gemeinsame Wege.
Servus Guido, Du wolltest ja eigentlich was anderes werden, oder? Ja, eigentlich wollte ich wie mein Vater Motocrosser werden. Der hat mich zunächst auf ein BMX gesetzt, mit dem ich gleich einige Rennen gewonnen habe und mir dachte: passt schon. Seit dem bin ich im Bike-Zirkus. Aber Motocross fährst Du noch immer? Genau. Ich trainiere auf beidem, gerade eine Motocross-Maschine hilft ungemein dabei die eigene Fahrtechnik zu verbessern und Sprünge richtig einzuschätzen. Außerdem ist beides ein unglaublich toller Sport, der übrigens auch körperlich äußerst anstrengend ist! Warum gerade ePerformance? Ganz einfach, ich liebe Geschwindigkeit - und körperliche Anstrengung. Und eBikes sind für mich zum ersten Mal die perfekte Kombination aus meinen beiden Sportarten. Die physische Anstrengung eines Mountainbikes mit der Dynamik eines Motors.
Warum Haibike? Weil die die einzigen sind, die die Sache ernst nehmen und die richtigen Produkte dafür haben. Ich brauche Material, das auch höchste Belastungen aushält. Beim Bike kommt es mir auf ein vernünftiges Fahrwerk an – und die Geometrien müssen stimmen. Wie hat die Community reagiert? Gab es auch Kritik? Ja, klar. Manche sagten, „der Tschugg, jetzt wird er faul“. Die meisten Kritiker haben es schlicht noch nie probiert. Und oft wird man bei neuen Dingen zunächst ausgelacht, dann kopiert. Ich habe mich schon immer darauf konzentriert, mein Ding durchzuziehen und mich nur wenig darum gekümmert, was andere sagen. Und man darf eines nicht vergessen: Die meisten meiner Fans finden es toll und beginnen sich selbst dafür zu interessieren.
Wird daraus ein neuer Sport entstehen? Ja! Es ist ein völlig neuer Sport, tatsächlich irgendwas zwischen Mountainbiken und Motorcross. Nur noch gesünder, umweltverträglicher, leiser, sauberer und most of all noch geiler. Und genau diesen Sport und die richtigen Produkte mit zu entwickeln sehe ich als meine Aufgabe.
