Preserved fossils

Preserved fossil- is one that remains intact, or nearly intact, because of the method in which it was fossilized.


Trace fossils

Trace fossil -a fossil of a footprint, trail, burrow, or other trace of an animal rather than of the animal itself.


Shells

formed when a sea animal with a shell dies and their body and shell begin to decompose.


Bones

any of the pieces of hard whitish tissue making up the skeleton in humans and other vertebrates.


Petrified wood

Petrified wood, also known as petrified tree is the name given to a special type of fossilized wood, the fossilized remains of terrestrial vegetation.


Carbon fossil

Carbon film fossils are carbonized two-dimensional remains of organisms that were exposed to great pressure over long periods of time.

Coal is one type of fossil fuel.

Body fossils were parts of the organism, such as bones or teeth


Molecular

distinctive organic molecule or molecular fragment recovered from rocks, sediments, fossils, or oils that can be reliably associated with one or a few biotic antecedents.
